Pattern of the wood grain, audio resonance and weight are the primary factors used to determine the various grades of a Kiso-Hinoki blade. The Entry Level Hinoki is designed so you can experience the one ply Hinoki difference before stepping up to the next level. Ariex uses a patent pending manufacturing process to combine two piece of Hinoki woods together to form a single blade. The result is a high quality Hinoki blade with a uniform wood grain and consistent audio resonance across the entire blade surface. The quality is much higher than many of the single ply wood blade that cost twice as much.
