I know that every hinoki blade may have a different feeling, but the one I got is amazing. The soft feeling of hinoki is there but it is a bit harder than one would expect. Very firm and a little heavier than the other Hinoki blades I have (Cypress Max and Cypress Alpha-R) and I am very happy with the blade. Amazing control in all shots, perfect for blocking and I feel in total control for attacking loops or hits. I may have been lucky, but this is the best hinoki blade I have ever seen (although I have a XIOM Athena Platinum Special on the way home and I plan to review here later). Many people prefer the square blades (and I am one of them) mainly because of the styling. However, I have to say that the rounded square blades like this one offer better control, what is great when you are not a total pro (helps when you are in a tough sittuation and a little off in positioning or timing).
