The new Yasaka Silver ALL Wood is a high tech allround blade with a unique and attractive design. The outer veneer of ALL Wood is very hard thanks to a special process with employing high pressure. The hard outer veneers increase the size of the sweet spot (hitting area with maximum control.
The middle veneer (the core) is a carefully selected medium density wood, slightly thicker than for traditional allround blades. It gives a really good ball feel, and together with the hard outer veneers also enough power for attacking play. In order to further distinguish this product from other allround blades, we have developed the design to match the high tech image.

Summary: unbeatable value for a controlled and spinny all wood blade around Off-/All+ speed. Decent sweet spot size with good amount of feeling. This was my second blade after the YEO 7 Power with the same rubbers. I use reverse penhold backhand (RPB) and my playing level is currently around 1700 US rating. I want to emphasize that this is a very underrated blade. It's similar to the Yasaka Sweden Extra, but with a noticeably bigger sweet spot (due to the harder outer surface). In comparison to the YEO 7 Power: -More dwell time. I could immediately feel that it was easier to lift underspin balls with this blade, especially on the backhand. -More control: Blocking is much easier due to the slower speed. Looping half-long balls is also much easier to keep on the table, since the blade is slower and has more dwell. -Not lacking in power. From mid and far distance, this blade does not lack power as long as your technique is good. Having faster rubbers that have higher throw angle will also help (I use boosted hurricane 3). -Sweet spot is around the size of a baseball. It’s slightly less than YEO 7 Power, but let's be honest: YEO 7 Power has a HUGE sweet spot that can rival that of the Butterfly ZJK super ZLC. So the sweet spot on this is a good size for an all wood blade. You can definitely tell when your contact is clean or not – helped me realize when I should slow down a bit on the loop to control the contact point. -Feeling is very noticeable – When you hit the sweet spot, it’s about the same amount of vibration as the YEO 7 Power. But the feeling itself isn’t really crisp in quality like the YEO 7 Power. It’s more like a low-frequency tuning fork (that doesn’t vibrate as long). Notes: -You might have to add a coat of lacquer to the edge of the blade since the soft center layer of wood might stick to your edge tape and peel off in little bits. -The value is PHENOMENAL!! I got it on sale for $29 from TT11. This is an unbeatable price. Will buy again for sure.

This blade is a piece with some flex, allowing good spin. The outer red layer is quite hard, reducing bounciness and giving the blade a hardish feel. The flex and hardness together do feel kind of unique; the combination I have not felt before. However, that doesn't make the blade to be a hitting blade. Looping is very effective and precise from close- to mid-table, but perhaps lacking in far distances. Medium to medium-hard sponged rubbers can be used to allow for more power. I can not say how hard rubbers like hurricane would feel. Blocking has a sharp feeling, not that much bouncy but sharp. Blocking precision good. I can't say about chopping or long pimples etc. For short pimples I think you should find a stiffer blade. Overall a good looping allround+ to offensive- blade that has somewhat of a unique feeling. Also, it's good looking!

A very nice and beautiful allround blade. Nice feeling and small vibrations makes you feel every shot. Very good looping with somewhat harder rubbers!
