Spike P1 is a classic defensive pimpled rubber designed for the ambitious, technically advanced defender. The ribbed pimpled top surface makes possible a vast array of variations of play and extreme backspin. Even when a thinner sponge is used, the defender has the ability to vary the degree of spin up to maximum rotation. This rubber has been developed in close association with WANG XI, a top player with TTC Fulda-Maberzell and one of the world's best defenders. Sponge hardness: soft Unique soft sponge Specially structured long pimpled to surface rubber Best possible control Good for defence and backspin close to the table Specially designed for the modern defender It is possible to block topspin close to the table

A good one to start with, offers good consistency and spin but for me its harder and faster than it should be and therefore making it difficult to chop hard

Verry good.It works perfect on Donic Defplay Senso V3.Chop from middle distanca are awesom, pushin requires fast arm move.Easy serve return and there some attack options on backspin balls.Backside is Tibhar Ev fx-p ,and for me it is almost perfect combo.I use ox without tacky folie.Glue it with water glue direct on blade and you will have excellent filling for the every shot.Simply the best I tried

I am using Spike p1 for chopping on the Joo se Jyuk blade. After trying both 0.5 and 1.2, I found this rubber takes a lot of practices to control but it really produced heavy back spin with great reversal. Such effect remained to be strong even with poly ball. Comparing to TSP Curl p1r, it produced more disruption to the poly ball. If you are skilled at defense and pursuing disruption, go for it.
