I've been playing with this rubber for a long time. It's an illegal long pips rubber; if your venue checks the pip length, your racket won't work. The pips have a lot of friction, and the pip material itself isn't very grippy, but the large pips create a large contact area. This rubber's performance is top-notch in all areas: the chop block generates a ton of backspin, the passive block is very deceptive, sometimes with reverse, sometimes without. You can easily attack, and even in OX, you can inject significant backspin into the ball with a sharp flick of the wrist. The downsides are chopping stability in OX (the ball slows down too much and simply falls on your side; this isn't an issue with sponge) and overall stability. Control isn't bad, but the huge contact area plays a nasty trick on this rubber – it's significantly spin-sensitive, making you vulnerable to both forced and unforced spin-induced errors. This isn't such a big issue when this rubber is worn down (the tops wear off and you can ignore the spin), but when it's new, you need to significantly close the racket's angle and walk on a very thin edge to hit the table, not the net or out. If you need pimples of this type, it's better to get the Young 2.5, while the C801, despite being an all-round pimple, is better suited to choppers with a sponge version.
