Description

Long pimple – MONKEY

Target:
Crazy, Crazier, Monkey. A primordial (forest) force! With the Monkey, a monkey-horny long pimple of the next generation appears. Playful ease, impressive dominance and a touch of playfulness meet iconic design.

General:
? The monkeys are racing through the forest and the whole monkey gang is roaring….
…Who stole the (coconut) dots? That could be the first lines of the Monkey song. But from the top:
Be the coolest guy in the hall and teach your opponents the fear with the almost forbidden dangerous long pimple “Monkey”!
The Monkey (also called “Ape” by many) manages to go to the table completely bored and without much effort and win his games. He doesn’t even go deep into his knees and lets his opponents run, make easy mistakes and despair.
Quite casually and effortlessly, you’ll achieve your sporting goals with the Monkey.
About the look: the stylish heart-shaped glasses represent the Monkey’s love for the plastic ball.
The cool retro design definitely reminds you of the good old days….

Features:

1. Pimples structure:
The pimples of the long pimple rubber Monkey have a high aspect ratio and stand quite far apart. This guarantees the greatest possible space for the pimples heads to buckle. The pimples necks are fairly smooth, while the heads are slightly roughened.

2. Pimples width:
The pimples heads are quite wide. In combination with the roughened pimples heads, they provide great rotational development. If you hit the ball well, the opponent will have big problems.

3. Pimples hardness
Under light pressure, the pimples heads give a medium-hard appearance. However, at higher pressure, they give way and cause a soft and gentle feel. This ensures that the pimple plays in a controlled manner and that, nevertheless, balls that are difficult for the opponent to calculate can be played on offensive strokes.

4. Sponge:
The sponge of the sponge version is a new type of dampening sponge, but it does not play too “dead”. Definitely worth a try.

Sebastian’s tip:
The sponge version with its dampening sponge is also a real alternative for players who have played OX so far. Even if you haven’t done it so far: Dare to go for the balls early and courageously with the “Monkey”. You will see the results and you will succeed in things that you might not have succeeded in before.

Conclusion:
Anyone who looks a little into the background of the “Monkey” will notice: Definitely the coolest of all table tennis surfaces. Coupled with outstanding playing characteristics, a popular weapon at the table.

This summer I switched from Dornenglanz OX on Donic WSC to Monkey 0.6 on S&T Banana. What a fantastic rubber. A little less spin reversal but tons of extra control which I like a lot during matches. I can really recommend this great long pips with dampening sponge. I played before not only with Dornenglanz but also with Hellfire X OX, Tibhar Grass OX and Blitzschlag OX. But Monkey 0.6 is my new favourite long pips rubber with matching results in competition.

I love this rubber! I have it on three defensive blades with different forehand rubbers. Very easy to control, and causes lots of problems for my opponents. I’m using the OX version which makes attacking a little more difficult but adds to the disruptive effect of this rubber. I play close to the table, and this rubber is perfect for me.

I’m using Monkey 0.6 mm long pips, and I find it very versatile and well-balanced while offering great control. Depending on the force and technique applied, it can produce noticeably different speeds and trajectories—sometimes the ball goes straight and sinks, and other times it floats. This rubber also handles attacking techniques—like flicking—remarkably well, especially when I pair it with the S&T Banana blade. So far, I can’t think of any weaknesses in this rubber.

Definitely the worst rubber to play against. Its disruptive game is so annoying, it makes you wanna break your racket and kill yourself. The ball is god knows where - very hard to smash it: one moment it is coming at you, the next it bounces away or drop flat. I am definitely buying it for a try.
