SpinLord Waran II

I'm playing with fh short pips more than 10 years... This one is the best and the fastest for straight hitting... Lowest throw angle .. I've use rakza po... Waran ii is better than rakza po... i can loop underspin ball with open blade and the ball is fast and smashing and counter are deadly... Waran ii is only for advanced or long term short pips user... Not recommend for the first transition from normal rubber...

What an awesome rubber. After trying Waran and not being convinced (as always when trying pips) I tested Waran II (BH, black, 1.8 mm on Andro Temper Tech All+ - this seems to be a great combination). As Waran the Waran II is not sensitiv to incoming spin, it's good for returns compared with inverted rubber, blocks are great, can be placed very well, but hey - so much faster then with regular Waran and topspin against every kind of spin worked so great I couldn't belive. Smashes are very fast. I'm far from being professional and the waran in it's description is recommended for upper class players but why? It's better in every aspect of the game, even control if you ask me - had a much higher hit rate with Waran II then with regular Waran. It's definitly my new backhand rubber.

Background: My main setup for years has been a DHS Power G7 with Victas VO-102 1.8mm on the forehand side and Donic Bluefire M3 on the backhand side. When I replaced the VO-102 with the Waran 2, my very first impression was that the Waran 2 felt slower and heavier. The sponge is also much, much harder than the VO-102 sponge. The VO-102 "popped" much more with less effort. The Waran 2 doesn't begin to show its power until you start really hitting the ball. Once you start hitting the ball, the Waran 2 makes a funny "POK" sound, like when you hit a racquetball really hard, and it never seems to bottom out. Smashing through backspin balls is a breeze. Compared to the VO-102, I felt that with the Waran 2, it was easier to hit and lift backspin balls, and maybe a touch easier to block strong loops. Both felt pretty similar for chopping. The Waran 2 was harder to use for looping no-spin balls, probably because it is a much harder rubber than the VO-102. With the VO-102, I feel like I can loop no-spin balls just like if I was using a soft sheet of inverted. I felt that it was too heavy on my Power G7 so I proceeded to try it on my Yinhe T-11 carbon/balsa blade, and also on my Ma Lin Soft Carbon. To my surprise, the rubber plays almost identically on all three blades, especially compared to the VO-102, which plays very differently on all three of those blades. I felt the VO-102 was too fast for me on the T-11 and the Ma Lin Soft Carbon, but the Waran 2 is just right; It's slow when you play soft, but fast when you smash, almost completely regardless of the properties of the blade. Perhaps the hardness of the sponge prevents the properties of the blade from shining through very much?

Waran II is the fastest Sp i've tried. I used to play with original Waran but this new brand of waran II replaced them. My play is based on lift the first ball and then smash the next one. I had some difficult to lift the ball on the firsts days of testing this rubber but after adjust the angle the issue was gone out however flicking is easier with this rubber. The sound when you smash with it is awesome and funny. ---This rubber is the best for smash, active blocks, short game with flick.

Very fast but quite accurate, good for placement at speed. Not very good for passive play but excellent for over the table backhand attack. Active blocks off the bounce as well as flicks are its forte.
