Stiga Vertical are a series of long pips developed in close collaboration with former Japanese National Team player Masato Shino. The pip structure for Vertical 20 and Vertical 55 is placed at a vertical angle providing extra control and stability in your defensive strokes. These rubbers are made in Japan and developed specifically to increase the spin of your chops for the modern defensive game. With a vertical pip structure and a 20 degree sponge hardness, it is best suited for players who are looking for safety in their strokes.

Vertical 20 tested with 0,5mm sponge. Sponge is very soft. This long pip is a beast at chopping with the plastic ball, I tried many others and choose this one. You can keep the ball low in almost any situation, especially when returning serves and the very first chop on opening topspin. The spin manipulation is pretty easy if you have the right technic for pushes and chops. Control is hughe due to vertical pimples and the low speed of the rubber. Overall, I found it to be very easy to play, coming from Feint and Curl's series, and super effective with this damned P-ball.

I just started to play with this rubber. I mostly play in defense. Have it on TSP balsa blade 3.5 with 1.3 sponge. I started to test that right away on the tournament. I noticed, that if you want this pips to work well, then you need to chop every ball very thoroughly and with good technique. Technique is very demanding. I would not recommend this pips for beginners, because as much deceiving to the opponent that would be , as much deceiving that would be for you as well. If you chop correctly, the ball will fall to the further table point what will make it very inconvenient for opponent to attack. Furthermore, this ball will be always different- either chopped or flat. I like that people stopped smashing everything from their forehand like it used to be with Feint Long 2. Now they have to loop. And they do different mistakes - either het the ball to the net, or out of the table. If you will chop the loop with the most possible longest contact, you will return very difficult ball. They have a good grip, so you need to be careful while taking serves unlike with Feint Long 2 for instance. The ball might fly as it would normally fly from your soft rubber. I mean according to the direction of the spin. This rubber is a very good find and good fit to plastic ball. I highly recommend to try it, but be ready that you would need couple weeks to get used to it. I feel that the effect from this rubber is very similar to old Feint Long that is not allowed anymore.

The rubber is a new production and really has a great effect on plastic balls. It takes more time for a complete impression, but it immediately emphasizes the excellent control and versatility in defensive shots. Most impressive is chop from distance because excellent spin reversal.Opponent can hit one or second spin drive or spin, but third is 100% in the net. When push block you must be careful with racket angle.I gluet it with original foil. One foil on Tibhar Li Qian def blade and other is original foil on rubber. This long pips is little hard pips but not to much.Feeling confortable.Works fine on middle distance.Counter attack is possible with right technick.Ball sink and have low trajectory which is unconfortable for oponnent. Verry interesting rubber from stiga factory which is made some masterpieces wood and two good pips in rubber series(Boost and Calibra). At least one exeptional longpips rubber.
