Latest 729 rubber Battle I is designed for professional players at the backhand. Relatively softer sponge with great top spin kick at the same time having great control. This non-tacky rubber applied the special integration technology so that the attachment of the top sheet to the sponge is optimized.

This rubbers is so nice, I was inspired to finally write a review here after a year of lurking because this is. Very good value rubber! Plays as well as any ESN, but is not quite as fast, and generally much more forgiving. I have both RED and BLACK MAX. on a Zhang Jike Carbon T5000 OFF blade.
Lots of gears, not too springy. I was surprised by the high throw...which I like for topspin play. Coming from Tenergy 05, battle has a higher throw, and almost as much spin, without being as sensitive to spin.

Playing Characteristics:
Great, satisfying click sound! Comparing to Tenergy 05, lifting underspin is more forgiving due to lower speed and bounciness. Service is very spinny. Blocks are amazing, but if you are coming from low throw rubbers you will need adjustment to close your bat angle. (Of course, there's always adjustment when changing to a new rubber) Backhand flicks are great, especially vs. underspin. I tried both colors on the forehand and backhand same bat, and noted the red to be slightly spinnier and slightly higher throw, however the differences are almost negligible, and had I not be looking for it, I might not have noticed.

Take home message:
This is a very good rubber... period, regardless of price/value. If using expensive tensors and you want more user-friendly play, this is it. However there is no reason one couldn't play this to advanced/elite levels. My coach, chinese jr team 2400 USATT Tenergy user loves this. The price is just the icing on the cake.

Very good rubber for little money with decent glue feel... it may be not as fast and spinny as the newest ESN-Tensor rubbers, but it is not that far away and it is certainly much more controllable than most Tensor rubbers because it plays very linearly and not as bouncy. Imo the best Euro/Jap-type rubber made by Friendship so far... I would recommend it to everyone who wants a more dynamic rubber than the classic rubbers, but something less springy than the Tensors.

This is a very nice, very bouncy chinese rubber with almost total euro/jap playing qualities. Great price for what you get. It throws much higher than some of my other rubbers.

Tested this on Yasaka ma lin soft carbon blade with 729 08 on FH and Battle 1 red on BH. Hardness is 42 and its hardness is almost equal to that of rakza 7 so medium hard.Very good grip with some tackiness and has large pips throw angle around 7 and has a tensor feeling to it so no need of boosting speed same as that of Rakza 7.Spin is great including side spin and counter top spin. Its my back up paddle BH currently using Rakza 7 on BH. Blocking is great and looping is excellent.close to net play is great chopping is very easy with this one as it is not very springy like tenergy 05.It is a great rubber for BH. Once my Rakza 7 wears off then plan is to use battle 1 on BH and Battle 2 on FH. I am in love with 729 rubber high quality rubbers at great price and they are way better than DHS.

I have a new black one. It is a 42 ° degree hardness. It is little bit harder as 40 °, less catapult. The loop has a excellent spin. Durability is very good, but close to his death a rubber began to lose a consistency.
