Pleasant Japanese rubber, aimed at intermediate to advanced players, but I think even a beginner who is starting to develop a good technique can use it. Sponge is linear and feels softer than the rated 52°. Very similar to Hammond Z2, you can read my review of it and roughly apply it to P12. Actually the only weak point is that Z2 outperforms it. Still one of the best Japanese rubbers on the market ; versatile and balanced.

I recent purchased this rubber (red) as I have basalt outer blades and was interested how this rubber would play. I could find no reviews about the rubber so I purchased the rubber without expectations other then thinking it would play faster then my current rubber. My reaction playing with the rubber on my FH: Overall as advertised fast with control, medium throw, easy to complete all strokes and difference maker. Takes a few days to break in I would not have been so impressed if I had just applied the rubber and made some practice shots but after playing with it for a couple weeks its overall quality and capabilities show. UPDATE: I now play P12 2.0 both sides with a all wood 5 ply blade with the Nittaku ball. Lifting BackSpring is a breeze and getting strong rotational action requires minimum brushing. Blocking is outstanding and easy to generate strong counter drives against loops either forehand or backhand. Durability + performance is in the 120 hours range +.
