TIBHAR 5Q Sound rubber: The proven and highly flexible rubber surface of the TIBHAR 5Q was reworked, and the 5Q Sound offers approximately 15% more spin. Combined with a softer sponge, it confers an extraordinary playing sensation fitting perfectly into a topspin game. If you place rotations and sensation in your game above other playing characteristics, 5Q Sound is made for you! 5Q Sound confers a sound which is very close to the sound of a speed glued rubber. Controlled, spin-friendly strokes, without a big speed loss, are the main characteristics of this rubber.

A great rubber - good fit on my BH side, but will work on FH if you like soft sponges. I've always preferred soft sponges on my BH, but a lot of the current generation of tensors have all been medium-soft - 42.5 deg or above (JP-03, Rasant PS, etc). 5QS is softer than these, and reminds me more of the good old days with Acuda S3. However, the big advantage with 5QS is the spin, and how it gets delivered. For a soft, elastic rubber, 5QS is amazingly well-behaved in the short game. Pushing and service return are excellent. It's also easy to vary the spin you impart on your own serves - you get rewarded for fast wrist movements. On harder shots, the throw angle becomes quite high. It reminds me a lot of T05-FX in this regard. This makes it a superb BH looping rubber - the high throw combined with big spin can lead to dramatic results. It does suffer in terms of being a bit non-linear though. The elastic nature of the rubber means it can feel a bit wild at high speeds. For example, it's very solid at blocking in general, but when the incoming ball is very fast/spinny, it can spit the ball out surprisingly high. I feel that T05-FX suffers from this too, but I did find 5QS to be easier to predict than the Tenergy. Similarly, if you're a big flat-hitter, you might not like how jumpy 5QS can feel when you dial up your arm speed. The positives outweigh that though, and it just takes a bit of time at the table to understand the rubber's nature.

Note: this is a review of Tibhar 5Q sound power-upgrade version. I use it on Andro Temper tech All+ blade (Bachhand). This rubber has a ''break-in -time'' which is about 6-10 hours of play. When new, sheet feels very fast and uncontrollable, but after few training session it gets better. I have bought this rubber three times and every time the first few sessions are a bit difficult. After the ''break in'', the rubber gets awesome. Here's my opinions about the rubber after the break in. Pros: It has medium throw, good grip, medium soft sponge. More than enough speed and fantastic spin. Control is very high also. Plus it is a light rubber. I can place direct top spins where I want and flat hits are very good. This rubber gets even better with the new plastic balls because of it's softness and grip. With new balls, very few balls went over the table. Cons: As it has very good spin, it's also quite sensitive to incoming spin. After getting used to it, blocking and underspin touch play aren't big problems but I have still had ''easier'' rubbers when it comes to blocking and underspin touch play. Overall it's very good rubber after the break in and when you get used to it. Suitable for All+, Off-, even Off-. Not the fastest rubber for aggressive attackers but still powerful.

Not sure of it's characteristics, but i must say this was the best surprise i have had this year in a backhand rubber. Has a lot of gears. You can chop with ease, you can drive, smash... I tried to use it as FH and didn't like, but as BH, it's just perfect for my game. I think it's suitable for a ALL+/OFF- play style.

i use this rubber on my forehand , first i will say that the rubber is 69g uncut . when i put on my blade it is 45 g - is nice . very light rubber . from tibhar set that the rubber is medium soft (with soft sponge ) but i will say realy soft .the surface is very soft with made this rubber like a unique for me. the surface is slight tacky.this rubber have so much spin and grab the ball really nice and easy. probably the best spin rubber with i ever seen. maybe the surface on andro rasant powersponge produce the same or more spin , but flatly 5q sound grab and hold the ball perfect. was first few hours realy strangely to play with tibhar 5 q sound. 5 q it is the same. just need time to get used this rubbers. now i `m happy with my choice.
