Tuttle 2013 a latest type of Table Tennis Rubber developed by CHINA TUTTLE CO.,LTD.'s top experts & several China's High-Grade Coaches, it adopted the present World's most advanced technology to make the "Crystal" topsheets, meanwhile, also utilized the latest manufacturing technology for making out the Inner-Powered low-carbon-high-elasticity sponges.
It's Characters:
1. It can makes strong spins.
2. Super elasticity with excellent control.
3. When hitting the balls, it creates resounding voice with good getting-through effects.
I think this rubber is underrated. It is best to pair this rubber with hard/stiff blade. Tried it with single ply hinoki, very slow and unplayable. Tried it with sword t-hinoki blade (3+2 plies), then only it shines, spin/block/smash are easy and effortless. Mind you, that I used speed glue and rubber cement for gluing. It is my favourite at the moment.
This review is for old gen 2013 with the Red Tacky Rubber. I managed to get my hands on a Oldschool Superb Custom Red+Black Kazak hard bat for offensive style of play (which didn't suit me at all, I prefer more of an all round blade) This Quality Blade was Stiff, Hard, and Heavy. Had Both 2.0mm Good ol' White rubber with Red TT2013 on fh and black one on bh.
Red: It immediately caught my eye with how CLEAN the rubber was, cleanest rubber I saw I could see the rubber holes inside, and the gum was sparkling. Now, this rubber offered some type of underspin-snake? that I couldn't activate, when I gave the paddle to a Guy who played for 2-5 years, man, then It started to really shine, It literally catapulted the Ball in the table like a tensor, and the Ball had an after effect when it launched off the table. I had other brand "cheap" rubbers in hand like Palio CJ8000 and some other Middle tacky rubbers from Stiga and Donic. But none of these had this crazy spin like this one had. It's a little more speedy than CJ8000, a tidy bit less tacky (but still more than enough tacky), and this old one is spinnier than Palio, but not the new tuttle chinese ones, the new ones are non tacky and have less quality, so go for Palio if you want something similar to this old good one. If you are beginner or Intermediate player with focus on spin and want tacky rubbers.
The Black one is a little less tacky than the Red one, but its still enough tacky. Its almost as good, but if you say you play against an opponent that just smashes against you, remember, this rubber is for Control and Spin, not Defence, so after some rallies you might put the ball out of the table. (It needs some experience with Fast speeds to be able to handle the velocity of this rubber).
Im guessing that this rubber works best with a hard bat. However, it was not for me, and I ended up gifting it to my friend, in which hands i was sure it would be used at its True potential. so it's a happy ending for her
Anyone wanting to review this rubber needs to pay close attention to exactly which version they own... so as not to submit a review under the wrong designation!!! There are five different versions in total. First, the original 2013 "Pos.En." (pictured here); then the colored versions with a white sponge, as well as the red and black versions with a blue sponge (all "Pos.En. – non-tacky"); and finally, two "Pos.En. ASIAN Edition" versions with a pink or blue sponge !!!!!!!!!!
Attention, I have corrected a crucial error in my review!!! ... this review refers to the original rubber, which was delivered in the packaging shown for many years. - due to the many different versions of this rubber band now available, there's currently a lot of confusion regarding reviews!!! I bought this version a few years ago with a white, soft sponge (approx. 35 Chinese degrees), good catapult effect and speed. - however, it delivers less spin than all the other versions!!! This rubber band was very light and pleasant to play with. - but it's obviously no longer available on the market, which is why I'm refraining from further review!!!
I recently started using the Tuttle Positive Energy (Blue) rubber for my backhand, and it has been a game-changer for my performance. Compared to my previous setup with the Butterfly TBC 302, this rubber offers significantly better speed and control.
One standout feature is how much easier it makes backhand flicks. The rubber's responsiveness and grip allow for a smoother and more confident execution of this stroke, even in tight situations. Additionally, the increased ball speed is noticeable, giving me an edge during fast-paced rallies.
Overall, the Tuttle Positive Energy (Blue) is a fantastic upgrade for players looking to improve their backhand game. It’s an excellent choice for those who want more speed and precision in their strokes. Highly recommended!
My review is for the new version on green and purple color. This rubber's topsheet is the closest thing to a japanese one, it's non tacky with a frosty finish but it haves a lot of mechanical grip. On short pushes is so fast, i have to stop my forward motion and just let the ball hit the rubber, the throw angle and speed of the rubber will send the ball to the other side effortlessly when usually i have to follow thru. The combination of sponge+topsheet feels hard, so its not very forgiving for the forehand side, the trajectory is very linear, so you need proper technique to loop with it because the arc is flat. I recommend it for the price and if you're looking for something similar to a hard Japanese/German rubber
