The Venus 2 rubber updates Galaxy's original Venus rubber with their new 'Arbalest Sponge' providing the same high spin, but giving it a noticeable speed increase while reducing the weight slightly. The surface of this rubber is tacky in the same way as other tacky Chinese rubber, but less so than the Galaxy Apollo.

One item to note about the new Venus II is the improved range of 'gears' in the sponge. Venus II slows down to handle a push game better than most controlled rubbers, and speeds up to provide strong loops and counter-loops. In the middle of those two points, the rubber plays smooth and predictable, a rare feat.

Tackiness: Medium

Exellent rubber, cool combination with all wood blade for forehand. But the bad, very bad quality. Topsheet separates from sponge very quickly.

This is a long-lasting tacky Chinese rubber with good speed and lots of spin, available with several different sponge densities. I've tried 40, 39 and 37 degrees, all of which have the expected properties (harder sponges are heavier and faster with less dwell time). Some may prefer softer sponges for chopping, which are available, but I prefer medium to hard because I like to feel the ball when I hit it.. Any review should take the sponge hardness into account. A fast blade such as the T11+ works well with this rubber and the tackiness lasts longer than the 729 stuff I've tried, which includes black 729 SP. This rubber can still pick up and hold a ball after several months of heavy use with regular cleaning and protective film applied after each use. It's very durable. If you like tacky Chinese rubbers, and want to choose your sponge density, try this one!

The worst rubber i have ever ever tried, the sponge felt off the second day.

Blade: T-11 Venus 2 37 degree 2.0 This upgrade is better then the base Venus and plays very well for a inexpensive rubber.
