Butterfly Balsa Carbo X5

Review of Butterfly Balsa Carbo X5basswood-carbon-balsa-carbon-basswoodReviewed with Friendship Cream Transcend 2.0 rubbers. At first you can find this blade a bit strange because of dull fell and a bit smaller sweet spot than expected. You'll need a couple of weeks to adjust and then it gets really good. - pretty high throw angle - soft feel with enough speed - nice for looping, even better for flat hitting and smash - enough power for mid distance play and even a bit further from the table - good for push and underspin - block is not so great, no room for error - handle a bit thick and not so comfortable Nice off- blade for versatile play. Not worth 80 $ - not even close :-) Oct 08, 2013

DHS Power-G PG7
|

Review of DHS Power-G PG77 layers of wood: limba-ayous-ayous-ayous-ayous-ayous-limba. Weight 91 g, thickness 6.1 mm.It is much like Clipper (layers and playability). All shots are playable, no extreme weakness. Throw angle extremely high, good for high arc loop game. Balls usually goes very deep so overthrowing the table is constant threat. Block is fine but no more than that. Blade provides great spin and has power from away from the table. It is fast, but not too fast, I would say off-. I recommend it to spin oriented players more than those who play straight power shots and smashes. Straight handle is too short but you get use to it. Bottom line - great quality cheap blade for spin oriented attackers. Aug 10, 2014

Review of Donic Persson Dotec CarbokevGreat blade for playing away from the table. Lots of speed and power. Powerful hits without using to much force. Great for looping, flat hits and blocking. Very distinguished soft and curved cork handle made for right or left hand. Vibration very low if any. Mercedes of tt blades.Oct 17, 2012

Donic Appelgren Allplay Senso V2
|
||||||||||||
Review of Donic Appelgren Allplay Senso V2This blade is rated all but it is closer to all+ so it is not so slow as you might think. Control is amazing. It is thin (5.3 mm) looping blade. Handle is hallow, blade is 5 plies wood (limba-limba-ayous-limba-limba). Not perfect for smash or flick. Great for loops, pushes, chops. If you like to hit hard and maintain control you'll get this with Senso V2. Sweet spot is medium, block is medium easy to perform but not to dangerous for your opponent. This blade does not have too much power of it's own so you need to use the force when hitting from distance. It might not be blade for top world players but if you are recreational player or minor league competitor this is great choice for allround game.Edit (after some time): I put Yasaka Rakza 7 and Rakza 7 soft on this blade and it is a miracle :-) Speed, control and spin all in one. Senso V2 tottaly keeps this fast rubbers under control. Forehand with R7 soft is amazing. Loop has enormous amount of spin. It is great to hit and to watch. Best combination I tried so far. Huaruite Sunshine-1

Review of Huaruite Sunshine-1Tried this blade briefly with Rakza 7 and with Mercury II rubbers. Works just fine with both and keeps these fast rubbers under control. It's a nice light and thin all+ blade for looping game. If you play power attack and flat hits this is not for you. High arc spinny loops are very easy to play with Sun-1. Handle is a bit thin and not for people with big hands. Not bad at all for extremely low price. I recommend it for beginners or intermediate players who like to loop.Oct 08, 2013

Huaruite Clipper

Review of Huaruite ClipperAlso called HRT 2091. This is Stiga clipper clone so it should be: 7 plies wood (limba-ayous-ayous-ayous-ayous-ayous-limba).I haven't tried Stiga Clipper but Huaruite Clipper is absolutely great. Speed is off- , perfect control, handle very comfortable. I like to play all offensive and defensive shots and this blade can do everything. There is no week side to it. I can't believe you can get this quality for so low price. Tried some more expensive blades (even 3 much more expensive Butterfly blades), but I like 17$ HRT Clipper far better. Absolute recommendation for allround recreational players and minor league competitors. Pozdrav svima koji ovo razumiju :-) Nov 09, 2014

Yasaka Gatien Extra
|

Review of Yasaka Gatien ExtraReviewed with Friendship Cream Transcend 2.0mm rubbers. This blade is about control. It is light all+ 5 ply wood blade (anegre-limba-ayous-limba-anegre). Vibration are there but as positive feedback. Great for beginners and amateur players. People say it is too slow. If you know how to hit hard and the right way it is not slow. So you can measure you skill with this blade (meaning it will not play by itself, you need to get cracking). Pair it with Friendship Cream or 729-5 and you get very cheap and very serious paddle. Do not waste your money on Timo Boll Spirit and Tenergy because you may not need it. There is treasure to be found in these inexpensive blades and rubbers. Yasaka Extra 7

Review of Yasaka Extra 7This is simply faster version of Yasaka extra all+ blade (a bit less control and a bit more speed).Meaning: great control and speed :-) Has some vibration. Works nicely with Mark V rubbers. Dream for recreative attackers. Oct 17, 2012

Yinhe N-10

Review of Yinhe N-10Nicely made blade. Doesn't look bad at all for the price. Tried it with Tenergy on and plays pretty good. It is all+ blade and gives a nice touch of control for Tenergy and it's not crazy fast. It is hard to evaluate blade itself because you never play with blade alone (always rubbers on it).Nov 17, 2012

Yinhe 896
|

Review of Yinhe 8965 plies wood: kiri-meranti-kiri-meranti-kiriSpeed: Medium (all+), weight 81 g, 5.8 mm thick. This blade is considered loop machine and it is - up to a certain point. It plays well when things are nice and slow. If you are advanced player and play goes more serious there are problems. Blade loses control, not enough speed from distance, block not accurate nor dangerous. After a great blade (such as PG7), this can seem to you like a toy. Push requires adjustment of angle, and it is hard to perform. There are vibrations present and not the good kind. 896 is good for learning how to loop but for serious play not recommended. Yinhe W-6

Review of Yinhe W-65 plies wood, weight 86 g, 5.5 mm thick, reviewed with Friendship Cream Transcend 2.0 mm.This blade is for allround game, speed is between all+ and off-, great control and great spin capability. I would recommend it for those who play loop game and seek more spin then raw speed. Backhand and forehand loop of higher or lower arc are delight to see or feel. This is a do it all blade but not for smashers. On the other side, I'm more then pleased with defensive capabilities - nice chop, push, block and lob. Flick is not perfect. It might be me or blade characteristics (flex, not so hard). You cannot adapt to this blade instantly but it is within a few hours. Pretty soon you'll be able to tell that this is a great blade and if it is indeed for your style of play. Top notch, non expensive blade for technical players :-) May 24, 2015
