Review of Butterfly Liu ShiwenGreat blade...switched from my Jonyer H after 20+ yrs with the new ball, and boy, my shots have that punch once again. great touch close to the table and then explosive power with the "klick" sound for fast mid distance looping. Smashes are powerful too. A great Allround Attacking blade for the modern game....its the Jonyer H of the modern game. Forget Carbon..this blade gives you great touch for the short game, generates great spin (similar to my Jonyer H), explosive power mid distance for looping, great blocking and suited for the modern allround attacking player. It is a quality blade...expensive but quality. I like the thin FL handle..very similar to my older Jonyer H. Slightly head heavy...but that is good as the pros always use head heavy bats. Butterfly engineers got this blade right (I guess it started with the innerforce ZLF technology). Lighter than most carbon blades. with exceptional control and spin, with explosive speed when needed.

Review of Butterfly Jonyer HinokiIn 1988, I used to use this blade paired with Mark V rubbers (2.0 black BH and max red FH). Blade was a terror with the 38mm ball. Was a topspin machine. With that combo, I would topspin on both flanks anything and everything on either side. I was also 25 years younger and won a bunch of local competitions.
Fast forward to 2016, and I decided to play table tennis again. The old combination was lacking power for the 40mm ball. Younger players were overpowering me. I decided to upgrade. Bought a new butterfly Innerforce (Liu Shiwen)& newer rubbers. Decent blade but affected my looping, topspin game. Then I read an article from a famous chinese coach about how to keep the older OFF blades but simply change the rubber to newer tensors. I decided to go find the correct combination of newer rubbers for my Jonyer H (original FL with the compact head). After some research and testing, I found the Mizuno Q3 2.1mm for my FH and Rakza7 2mm for my BH. The blade is still amazing. Paired with the newer rubbers, I am beating players half my age. I think the Tenergy05 would also be terrific on this blade, if only I was 20 years younger. The only downside to Tenergy05 I found was they were v sensitive to incoming spin (serve return). Rakza7 has a distinct advantage in this dept. Hence my BH has Rakza7. All my opponents ask me about what equipment I use, and I show them my Jonyer H and it still works. Its an amazing blade and I still love it. Looping machine, fast and light with amazing control. I move my opponents all around the table, and it can do everything - attack, loop, smash, block, chop and drop shots. And yes, the handle does shape to my hand after all these years. I consider it like a work of art. It can never be replaced.

Review of Butterfly Timo Boll ALCWow! What can I say? I tried a Timo Boll ALC in FL handle from a buddy of mine and it was an amazing experience. The blade is stiff (not much feedback) but surprisingly has a good deal of dwell to generate great spin. Close to the table it is slow and has control. Far away the carbon kicks in and gives you a few extra gears. I could do everything with it. Looping was amazing. Blocking was crisp and accurate. Its an all round attacking blade and I instantly fell in love with it. I can now see why a lot of top players recommend/ use it. It is perfectly balanced blade~ 85+ grams. Butterfly engineers definately got this blade right. It is a tad faster than the spirit. I'm definately going to buy one for myself. This one will go down in history as one of the all time great blades. Not for beginners, due to lack of feedback. My advice to young players below 1800+ Develop your strokes on an all wood blade for 2 years and then switch to this blade.
