Andro Temper Tech OFF+

Review of Andro Temper Tech OFF+All wood blade. No real dwell time. Flat hitting and blocking blade (unless you want your rubber to do all the work for looping). TimoBollALC is considerably better in every aspect of game play, and it shocks me that people have given this such high reviews! We are here to rate performance, not rank equipment on a financial basis! Butterfly Timo Boll ALC

Review of Butterfly Timo Boll ALCWell balanced blade. It is for the player who desire control and consistency from his blade, but does not demand any speed that is ancillary to what is generated from the rubber. This was my first blade and has served me well at developing a technique that rarely misses the mark. A great blade for looping from any distance and which doesn't add too much "pop" in short game. I would recommend this to anyone. Feb 17, 2013

Butterfly Timo Boll ZLF

Review of Butterfly Timo Boll ZLFI prefer the feel of ZLF, so I like this blade, but it fails at doing anything more impressively than the ALC and is not worth the price. What the ALC has in control, the ZLF loses a bit of and only for a slight increase of speed. This blade does seem to perform chops and blocks better (and I'm being very forgiving) than the ALC. Not a bad blade by any means, but it doesn't mark any improvement from the more widely used and endorsed ALC. Feb 25, 2013

Butterfly Photino

Review of Butterfly PhotinoFirst just let me say I'm not much of an EJ. After over a year of playing with the ALC I switched to this blade because I wanted more speed/power. I've used this blade for over a year now, and I'm switching. Here's why:The Photino is thick. So thick that every hit feels reinforced, and unless you're 6-10 back, it's hard to use full strokes. I tried various rubbers on the blade, and didn't find it particularly suited to any: all of them work well for looping mid-distance, and blocking when they're on the Photino. The problem I have with this blade is that it sucks close to the table unless you block or use really short strokes. It's not really an aggressive blade. The short game is okay with most rubbers, so I won't complain, but this blade takes away most of your power away close to and over the table. In sum: If you're an older player looking for control, you'll like this blade. If you're someone who only likes mid-distance play, you'll like this blade. If you want power and control at the table... you probably won't like it that much unless you use slower rubbers. Mar 12, 2014

Butterfly Liu Shiwen

Review of Butterfly Liu ShiwenThe weight distribution is PERFECT and the handle is very comfortable.Feel: It feels somewhat wooden, but also has that usual ZLF vibration Dwell Time: Im using harder sponged rubbers with spring sponges, so it was harder to detect the amount of dwell time, but I did notice an unusual amount of control Looping: I had no trouble looping aggressively from any distance; however, slower loops close to the table were somewhat difficult. Counter: Amazing. I countered even the fastest hits with speed and precision. Mid-distance: Still very comfortable; however, there really isnt much need to back that far up with this blade. Block: Absolutely no complaints. May 26, 2014

Review of Stiga Hybrid Wood NCTA great blade to learn technique and control; however, the advanced player will likely desire more speed and control.Overall... really just a blade for those who haven't tested some of the better brands: Butterfly, Xiom, DHS Mar 04, 2013
