Review of BLutenkirsche B-CARBONHard, thick (~6,8mm) and medium stiff Chinese blade. Weight is approximately 85g. Looks like limba outer ply. 5+2 plys, a carbon layer is on the 3rd place from the top, so not extremely hard and could be used for looping on both side. A handle is FL, that you get usually with different color and shape.

Review of Butterfly Balsa Carbo X5Very thick (7mm), stiff and soft blade. For a such thick and stiff blade it has good dwell. It's a light blade (mine is 80g). The structure of plies is basswood-carbon-balsa-carbon-basswood. It's faster than Friendship/729 V-6 with less control and less dwell. I have played 2 seasons of SOKAZ league with it, but then I found that there is better blades for loopers with more dwell time (e.g. Friendship/729 V-6). I think it's better for pips-out (short pips) attackers on BH side than for 2 side loopers.

Review of Butterfly Petr KorbelMine Butterfly Korbel is 85g (today you can find it in a range from 80 to 90g and it's produced in Hungary). It's a great blade, classic! I haven't known that so many today's professional players still playing with it (Gionis, Shibaev, Kallberg,..). Its composition is like old classic Stigas, 5-plys, limba-limba-ayous-limba-limba, around 6mm thickness. Beautiful feeling, comparable with DHS PG-7, but as it is 5-ply, dwell is even better and better control, a bit more stable with slightly less speed. High throw blade, great for looping and good for short game incl. serves. But the feeling is important for me, together with PG7 , the best feeling I have ever tried! If you search for loopers blade with euro/jap tensor rubbers on it, you can stop your search! If you are an amateur offensive spin player, you do not need a better blade.

Review of DHS Power-G PG12It's a composite blade from budget Power-G DHS series. Comparing it with Friendship/729 V-6 which has similar ply structure, I was not so impressed with PG-12. Somehow, the blade was not so good balanced, more in heavy range (above 90 g), not so good for flat hitting and not so great for looping like pure wood blades. It's thinner than V-6, carbon layer is different than V-6 (it's a glass fiber-carbon rather than aramid-carbon in V-6) and a top layer is different (brown colored, but I am not sure if it is dark colored Koto or Limba?). The most annoying fact for me was very thin FL handle which does not fit me. I'm more fan of DHS ST handles like the one you can find on DHS PG7. This is one of the best ST handles for me, and the one I'm using on my PG7, it's beautiful to handle! Unfortunately PG12 is coming only with FL (and Chinese penhold) handle. All in all I like more DHS pure wood blades like PG7 and Friendship V-6 is still for me the best composite Chinese blade for looping. If you look at the latest "upper-class" DHS composite blades like Hurricane Long V, with which Ma Long and Fang Bo are playing , the ply structure is pretty much similar to Friendship/729 V-6.

Review of DHS Power-G PG8It's a 5 ply wooden blade from DHS Power-G budget series. It is coming with both ST and FL handle, and the fact that it comes with ST handle attracted me to try it, as mine DHS PG7 has the same ST handle. The feeling is totally different than PG7. It's an extremely hard blade with more stiffness than PG7, and so fast. The top ply is really hard, I heard somewhere that it's “anigre†wood (same as on Yasaka Extra blade). A dwell time is not so high comparable to PG7. In my opinion it's not loopers blade, I did not like it, but more for flat hitting and counter drives on the table. A colleague who played whole life with Butterfly Mazunov told me that for him the PG8 blade is good and pretty similar to Mazunov except it's not so heavy (mine PG8 was 86 g) and I think it's more flexible than Mazunov.
