Wang Xi Dotec Control plus, the outstanding qualities of the Dotec series - now available with a straight handle and improved control.
Wang Xi, one the world's best defenders, demands first and foremost that his blades give him the fine touch and precise placement for which his game is known. These requirements are fulfilled one hundred percent by the brand new Donic Wang Xi Dotec Control Plus blade. This is the first time that the proven Dotec Technology has used a 3.5 mm Dotec Kiri middle ply. The combination of Kiri with 0.6 mm thick Limba exterior and the 0.6 mm thick Ayous inner plies give the blade the necessary stiffness for controlled counter-attacking. The new Wang Xi Dotec Control Plus with its excellent playing properties provides not only control but reserves of speed to enable positive all-round players to go on the attack. This is the ideal blade for players who value control but not at the loss of their attacking play. This blade is available for the first time with a straight handle, making it easier for defenders to "twiddle" their racket.
I've been using this blade for around 18 months now. I've tried other blades but keep coming back to this one. That cork handle is just fantastic. I really can't see why other manufacturers don't use the same material much more. Also the blade has loads of control and enough speed to finish a point when required. I'm currently using DMS Spinfire on the fh and Giant Dragon Meteorite Ox on the bh. As another review suggested it works great with Donic Bluegrip C2. I did find that the blade was a little soft for my chop block style but i can punch and drive with the ox pimps and it's very nice with spinny short pimps. I'm a terrible fiddler so I looked for a harder veneer to try on the bh and used 0.5mm Bamboo. The handle design is perfect for adding veneers. It has transformed the bh performance. I can do pretty much everything with the ox pimps now. It gives great spin reversal, chops, drives, punches, chop blocks and even what looks like a loop (it tends to come off the table rather flat). Cost me £3 to do. I now have 5 blades and reworked 4 of them with bamboo. I'm a bit of an EJ! I did have 7 but people keep asking to buy them off me as they're so nice to play with! Try this blade. You'll love it
The best blade i have used, extreme control in every hit, ideal for chopping especially with feint long 2 or 3 and significantly good at blocking and fishing. Being slow enables hard chopping from behind but you will need a fast offensive rubber to attack. I have tried it with tenergy 05 but its a bit hard to play and attack from far off. For me it best suits with a Chinese top sheet rubber. I have played with hurricane neo 3 and its the best combination to get the best feeling and security in every shot. Potentially can be managed better with Donic BlueGrip C2 as its a faster version of hurricane.
i always wanted to buy this blade since i considered quite good due to the nature of construction of it . the blade is not big , around 158 mm x 154 mm so it close to the dimensions of an offensive blade . i rate this blade as an ALL , with extreme control , kind of slow but very consistent on about 80 % of the blade surface . i'm currently using it with an offensive pimple rubber - TSP P-4 - and i think it would go well with a slower P-1 rubber . as for the other rubber , i'm paring it with an Acuda S3 , which works well when it comes to blocks , spin , chop , even top spin , but i might migrate to a better defensive rubber . overall , this is a very good blade , in my opinion it is at least at the level of the Defsenso blade from Donic , if not above it due to the cork handle . i would recommend this blade to a friend !
