A perfect balance between speed, weight and feel lies behind Allround Classic's enormous popularity among competitive players, who choose the best.
Probably the World's best selling competition blade. A legend among table tennis blades.
I am a top club grade player, aggressive power looper, both wings. My previous blade was sending the ball too long when looping (not enough 'drop') so I decided to test some new blades and thought I would start with something slow with good feel and work my way up to what would suit me. I chose the Allround Classic WRB as my 'slow' starting blade and after about 7 other blades came back to it. I found it light, fast and having amazing feel and control. I play with a Tenergy 05 on my forehand and Omega IV Euro on my backhand and the combination of this 'slower' (not) blade and faster rubbers is awesome. I've been asked by a number of other top grade players whether I'm using booster :-), which I'm not, because of the speed and drop I am generating from this combination. This blade is fantastic and works surprisingly well with quick rubbers. It is also feels really light, being superbly balanced handle to blade.
This blade is a real winner from Stiga. Light blade suitable for classic rubbers and tensors alike. Great ball feel upon ball impact. Pair it with tacky Chinese rubbers to produce good speed and massive spin. Pair it with Juic 999 turbo or Hurricane 3 Neo and you have created a spin monster with very good speed. Some very light sanding need for the handle to smooth out the feel. Seal this blade when new to prevent splintering with rubber changes. Suitable for all levels except advanced power looping away from table. All grips are ok but could be just a tic larger.
As a beginner, I was very nearly persuaded to get a faster, more expensive blade, as I thought 'faster' = better. I'm very pleased that several experienced players suggest I get a good ALL Round blade with good all round rubber as my first, as this would help me to learn good technique for every stroke, before deciding which style of play was right for me.
To begin with, I found it difficult to get the ball on the table as I was hitting too hard - already I was glad to be using a 'slower' blade and I've since learned to control my shots a lot better.
Second, I found the paddle rewarded my efforts with a great deal of spin in serves and my top spins and side spins are equally accented.
The hollow handle is something to get used to at first as it makes the blade quite top-heavy. I'm told this creates a bit more feeling, feedback and power. Though I haven't got the regular ALL classic to compare with.
All in all, this blade does what it says on the box and I'm incredibly happy with it for a first blade.
Using Mark V on both sides.
New to agree with CHOP review. Feel lack of speed if of course paired with too slow rubber but with a dynamic tenergy 05fx on FH and rasanter R37 on BH, feel I can just play without always trying to limit the energy I bring to top spin. You can easily change from passiv to high tempo and engagement on the ball. You really feel what you do. Don't understand why everyone wants carbon and ultra fast blade.
It's fitting all beginners up to confirmed players as well. Really recommended.
