Announcing the rebirth of Tibhar's legendary and very fast H-1-9 blade! The fabrication of this famous one-ply Hinoki wood blade has been completely revised. It is now a thoroughly modern table tennis blade due to the adaptation of the shape and weight. The results enhance the very favorable characteristics making this a very fast and hard offensive blade.
I bought this after I saw the Hinoki Power from my Dad's Hinoki Blade in 2008. This blade is now pretty old. I remember mine was made in Germany but the re-issue seems to be made in China. The Blade is pretty fast and does a good job in smashing but I found out these days that it needs to be paired with a Hard Rubber. Look for the Old Blades that has been sold before the re-issue.
Mine is square and used it for 4 hours of practice w/ a bluefire m3 2.0 mm. My style is, basically, block and drive although often I rely on spin also. I found it well balanced, extremely reliable for power shots as well as control shots. I like the thickness of the handle because it can be sanded down for both positions, although I would have preferred it to be a little longer, like the Ronin. Mine seems to be very high quality wood and craftsmanship. I can't find any real issues on this blade. I think it would pair better w/ an acuda s2 or s3.
We have purchased one flared and one straight. The blade is too short. It's wide enough, but is too compact length-wise. A standard 157 x 150 size would be better. Also, some of the Tibhar hinoki blades have excessive vibration, despite the price. The H-1-9 was better before Tibhar discontinued it and then re-introduced it.
I use it as RBP. It's cheap in presports. Not good quality hinoki. Irregular. the ball changes depending on what place it gets in the blade. To much soft, and I believe this is the reason for the irregularity. If you play against an agressive opponent, the blade will not impose you command, because it is too soft and has little power. Only for begginers and up to medium players.
