Picked this up to try out a carbon blade, and this seemed the best value according to reviews. I know carbon blades aren't recommended for beginners (like me, having played less than a year) but I feel like I have perfect control of the 1.5mm Focus 3 Snipe I use on the backhand (the 2.0mm forehand is a different story). Another plus is that the shark on the handle is pretty awesome, even though it does seem it'll eventually be worn away. Surface and core are ayous.
One last note is that the head is a bit on the large side and the handle is a bit on the short side.
E: after playing a while with different blades (using Hurricane 3 to compare them), I realize that this blade is absurdly fast and stiff. I felt like I had control of the backhand because I tended to smash anything that came too high, which this blade does very well. Probably an ideal blade for short pips hitting. One last note: The blade must be sealed if you use water based glued and ever want to change rubbers. If you use rubber cement you could probably get by without sealing. (On another note, Haifu Shark is a rubber, maybe I need to be trying that out).
E2: My main blade has changed, so I decided to make something fun and picked up two training version sheets of Haifu Shark, to make the triple shark. It's super hard to control in the short game, and can't really block at all, but stepping back and getting a good fast loop gives such a fast shot that it's almost comical.
I have used this blade for a year. he short handle took a little time to get used to but it works well for me with a H3 Blue Sponge on one side and a dodgy pimple on the other. Most of the XiEnting blades I have used are really top quality.
Faster than Innerforce ZLC. It is lethal weapon if you can handle it.
