Review of Butterfly Feint Long 2Really nice controlled long pip. Displays uniformity in quality and consistentcy. I like as it plays both chop/def and decent hitting abilities. These are essential qualities in a modern defence scenario.

Dawei 388D

Review of Dawei 388DReally decent long pips. I combine it with a Hallmark combination blade, skyline 3 rubber, and the pip that a friend gave me, is loaded on a .5 sponge I believe. Love it. What I like is the 388ds ability to both defend and attack with relative smoothness..I feel I can dolly the ball over passively ie chop, float, but then ...can also attack with a forward and upwards motion, attaining good speed and potency. Also, flicks well. Twiddling is recommended for optimum variation.

Friendship/729 802-40
|
Review of Friendship/729 802-40This is a truly great solid pip. Not only does it last and last. It's got it all. Control, some spin, decent speed. Consistent. Cant ask for more. In fact I've tinkered we with it over the years. Now considering using it. I do play anti. 802 40 just may have enough gearing to allow for that needed change of pace, like my anti, but of course, it would add a much better attacking possiblity. Best played off the bounce, like most sps, to apply controlled pressure. As I play some defensive play as well, it can chop, but it's a more aggressive type. I'm hoping to use it more like hou yinchao, with his sidespin swipes to come in for more decisive hits. This is the beauty with sp. The ability to play some def strokes with the very good option of killing the ball in the next breath.

Friendship/729 802
|
Review of Friendship/729 802I've had a sheet of 802 for ages. It came on a 1.5mm sponge, which I have recently taken off carefully. Now it's loaded onto a thin rubber 0.5mm, which came from a sheet of curl p1r. I never really liked the 1.5 orange sponge. It seemed to bottom out and didn't chop great, although it could of been me. Frankly, I quite like clonky rubbers anyhow, and thinner sponges are better for chops n stuff. First try seems really nice. I've loaded onto a sanded and teak oiled donic burn allround plus blade. Quite a hard feel. On the other side I have juic spin spiel. I think 802 is a real classic style. I adore it's quality and feel. The old sheet of curl p1r I had was utterly rubbish for quality and more expensive. Shame as the write ups were solid and it didn't play that bad. 802 on other hand is a great solid quality rubber deserves some practice again. It's also got the potential for great defensive play, and good hits too.

Review of Friendship/729 Dr. EvilA really really fun rubber. It's hardbat like quality and it does two things well. Number one chops well. Number two switches from defence to attack in an instance. Best to play aggressively. The key is this........hit and hit hard. Hard and flat. Pretty insensitive to incoming spin, and that gives it's authority to play aggressive and hit/kill the dam ball. It's better playing fairly close up to the table, use the angles, use flicks, and off the bounce pressure your opponent relentlessly. Fall backwards and you can chop, but I believe attacking more productive.

Giant Dragon 612
|
Review of Giant Dragon 612I like this pip. Mines loaded on a thick cream sponge, which is pretty springy. Options for all strokes are impressive. Can chop, float, and smash very well. Probably more floaty than say long pips, but attacking possibilities are better. I like the fact you can play defensively without too much effort. But then, change to tactical attack by moving ball around. Twiddle for best results. All in all a fun rubber that plays mostly floaty game with great attack...another thing I like is quality, and the pip spacing for the grip...something often overlooked by manufacturers. It's nice to be comfortable when playing.

Review of SpinLord AgendaLovely lp rubber. I've recently gone back to this rubber in 1mm and I loaded it up on a donic burn all+. Which is a nice controlled blade. It is lively, but has good control. What I like is chopping from afar spot on, fishes balls back well, blocks ok. Can attack. Soft flexy pips means pips bend nicely to manipulate spin. Quality top notch. Very nice lp. For good lp play with reliability.

Tibhar Grass D.TecS

Review of Tibhar Grass D.TecSI tried this recently, a friend let me have a try with his set up. His Blade was the tsp 3 5 def plus. On the rev side a giant dragon submarine in 1.5mm. The grass was in .6mm I believe. Very nice and I agree better than tsp curl p1r. In .6mm it was clonky nice feeling. You can really feel the grip. Chopped great. I found it easy to hit as well with a sharp upwards and forward motion.

TSP Curl P-1R
|
Review of TSP Curl P-1RJust started playing with p1r, in ox. Ah what a great classic style pip. It is very consistent. What I really like is you can alternate easily between hits, rolls and of course chop, chopping being it's key strength. Hits are great providing one follows through forwards and upwards. Prefer hitting on forehand, playing cross court, and mixing game up with chops, twiddling to normal rubber both sides. What a great rubber to twiddle as well. Play clever, use your reverse rubber to switch sides and play the modern defensive game. My current set up is light. Hallmark all-round blade, tenergy 05 fx, p1r ox. Good spin manipulation. Like most pips requires concentration and tactics, so a learner would find hard or impossible I'd say. Once mastered it's a joy to play with. Still learning after playing anti which although steady can be bit one paced. I've also tried feint long no. 2 in 1.0mm Like the feint but when I go back to the curl.....ahhhh it's got that something extra...

TSP Miracle

Review of TSP MiracleClassic pip.
Actually Ive dug out my late dad's old bat. Haha it's a great classic no Sponge rubber. Good control, chops good, hits like a demon. Have it on an old def blade, with chop and drive by stiga on other side. 1.7mm. I think it's a canvas backing. Dad use to play hardbat especially barna. All back in the day.

Review of Tuttle Autumn 3DPurchased this yearish ago I guess, and it actually plays pretty well... Pips are grippy when rubbing ball over them.. (mine is the 1mm). Pretty good at chopping (keeps ball low over net). Plays fairly fast on a fast blade but shows decent control. Ok for hitting, and mixing up hits and chops, and good variation and slight wobble. Pretty solid controlled and reliable feel. Was not expensive so great value, for those wanting to try out long pip first time it's great. And, does play pretty darn well. I've reloaded mine up on fast yet old nittaku combi blade to give another go, actually it's paired with Tuttle VIP 2018, which is another fantastic lively yet controlled reverse rubber. Both Tuttle's are excellent value... play extremely well too......as with a lot of rubbers choosing a suitable blade is key. These two seem to play well on my faster blade.

Review of Winning NP-1Classic hardbat gear. Crisp flat hits excellent on backhand as I prefer. Chops pretty good. Once you go for it it can be unreturnable. Tried it paired with a sponge, but prefer the 0x feeling. Hit down the lines for real pressure play. Need to maintain good bat angles as can't generate enough spin, but this rubber sheet is all about quick flat hitting, forwards and upwards.....get it right it's a fun weapon but you have to work a bit as rubber won't do everything for you.
