DHS NEO Skyline 3 TG3

Review of DHS NEO Skyline 3 TG3Neo Skyline 3 Commercial vs Hurricane 3 National. Both unboosted with water glue. After using Hurricane 3 National for a while, I tried a sheet of Neo Skyline 3 Commercial 39 degrees in Black. Me and my friends all tried it and think that this rubber is a piece of crap when compared to Hurricane 3 National or more expensive rubbers, because it's unstable and dead. Table game is good, and surprisingly the rubber is okay on the backhand. If you don't boost or speed glue, look elsewhere. I rate this 6/10 (when it's brand new) Update: After using this rubber a little more, the sponge has gotten softer and plays more consistent and stable. I now rate this 8/10 (when broken in). If this rubber had some booster or speed glue, it would probably be perfect. In my opinion, TG3 neo commercial is much better than H3 neo commercial. However, it's a close race between H3 National. H3 National's sponge has more strength, spin potential, does not need a break in, has a lighter toxic smell, but it's harder to use/more demanding. TG3 Neo Commercial, is less demanding, easier to use, requires less energy, is very affordable, but has a horrible toxic smell. I highly highly recommend TG3 Neo Commercial, but be sure to slap it hard for a few days to break it in. May 04, 2013

DHS Hurricane 3 National (Orange Sponge)

Review of DHS Hurricane 3 National (Orange Sponge)This review is of unboosted H3 National. (I'm sure with boost or glue this rubber would be god like)Very demanding, easy to get injured because of this. Very high quality, beautiful, and consistent sponge and top sheet. Too much dwell and tack. Great rubber to learn technique with. The extreme demands of the rubber, is my main issue. Technique has to be perfect, and you have to work HARD! If you're not going to boost, you should get the 40 degree sponge. It's faster, less dwell, less demanding, compared with the 39 degree sponge, which has too much dwell. I highly recommend TG3 Neo commercial over H3 National. TG3 Neo commercial is easier to use and plays overall as well as H3 National. (even though it's 3X cheaper!) Palio Thors

Review of Palio ThorsDon't believe the hype on this rubber. I'm a 2000 usatt two wing looper and come from using Spin Art and Tenergy 05/64/25. With these rubbers, I feel like I'm a pimp. With Palio Thors, I'm a scared little girl on the court.Yes, it's fast and spinny. However, the control is horrible!!! Why you ask? The topsheet is thick soft jello and the sponge is rock hard. They don't mix well together. You need to hit the ball perfectly everytime to engage both the sponge and topsheet in just the right amount. If you don't do this, the ball dies. Too much sponge or too little sponge, the ball dies. Too much topsheet or too little topsheet, the ball dies. Perhaps, if Thors's topsheet was a little thinner or harder or if the sponge was softer.. As is, it's an unusable rubber. I can't believe people are comparing it to Tenergy and Spin Art. Not even kissing Tenergy's or Spin Art's feet. Or even kissing Tenergy's dog's feet. Or even kissing Spin Art's long lost cousin's dog's feet. I've read many Thors reviews and played against opponents using Thors. All of them have thrown it away. Only a few low level players are using it, probably because it has a cool name. Even the die hard thors ravers have gone into hiding. The one and only thing Thors does well is the loop kill. While Tenergy and Spin Art can do almost everything. Palio Thors=One Trick Pony I would rather use H3 neo than Thors, and it's about half the price as Thors. Which is why, I give this rubber a 3/10 Update: I put thors on a very stiff blade, and was surprised! (ishlion + thors) Not bad! BH/FH: good opening control. Rallies and counterlooping are much better with ishlion, but still lacking control and speed. If you don't know what to do with a very stiff blade, thors may be the answer. Also, durability is not good. I ripped the sheet after the first removal, and totally destroyed the sheet after the second removal. Apr 15, 2013

Xiom Vega China VM

Review of Xiom Vega China VMA little more useable than Thors, but that's not saying much. It does a few things well, and everything else is sh*T. Serves are very good and flat hitting is good. That's about it. H3 neo and TG3 neo are better and cheaper. I rate this 5/10, goes into the trash with Thors.May 07, 2013

Xiom Tau
|

Review of Xiom TauAfter using 3 sheets of this, I have come to a conclusion. It's a decent rubber, with some issues. Main issue, is that the sponge is weak. It gives out or tops out very easily. On fast balls, you need to brush up to help the weak sponge from dying. Doesn't have gears. The feel is unstable. On the first day, it feels very good. On the 2nd day and thereafter, it's mush city. Just like thors and vega china, it needs a stiff blade to tame it. Better than thors and vega china. However, it's still far away from Tenergy, Spin Art, H3 National, and even TG3 neo commercial.
