Butterfly Zyre 03

Review of Butterfly Zyre 03First of all Theres a review that says this rubber is medium soft that not true at all this rubber is very hard . I think the reason they wrote this was maybe because it has a butterfly hardness of 44 degrees which on the ESN rubber hardness scale is about medium. However butterfly have their own scale like double happiness. After use I can confirm that this rubber is very hard. I personally think this rubber has to be boosted to get the most out of it otherwise it’s a pointless rubber to buy. The reason is you can’t fully activate the sponge without booster because the sponge is so hard . It’s actually around the 55 degrees hardness on the ESN scale which to give context G1 fast arc is around 47.5 degree so the Zyre 03 is much harder. It’s not overly fast in my opinion I used it on a 7 ply all wood blade (septear by Nittaku) which isn’t that slow of a blade. I used the 2.5mm on forehand (black) and it’s very spinning unboosted . I haven’t yet played with it boosted but I can imagine the spins going to be insane . Pushing with this rubber is trash because it’s too hard (another reason it should be boosted) serving was ok but again it was too hard to generate lots of spin , the only time you can gets lots of spin with this rubber is when a good amount of force is used to activate the sponge .In conclusion if you don’t want to use booster don’t buy this rubber you’ll be underwhelmed by it just buy a tensor ESN rubber instead like G1, Rakza9, vega pro or platinum DNA medium. It’s not worth £90 unless you unlock its true potential with booster like dignics 09c or hurricane 3 neo (all versions) lastly don’t use this on a hard blade it’s pointless. I have since boosted it but I’m yet to play with it boosted !! Oct 24, 2025

Butterfly Rozena

Review of Butterfly RozenaFirstly and perhaps most importantly this rubber is definitely not for beginners , I’d say it’s more for someone pushing into the intermediate category2nd I don’t believe this rubber feels as soft as the manufacturer stats that it is . On the ESN scale it’s around 45 degrees but it feels more like 50 to me. The top sheet , that is to say the rubber competent part of the this product is quite grippy but not tacky and very durable , especially considering this rubber only costs around 35-40 pounds . 4thly many have compared this rubber to a tamer Tenergy 05 and I would personally agree with this is assessment ,the main differences for me between the two are rozena has a lower throw angle , less ability to create topspin on loops and lastly and most importantly definitely a more dampened effect to incoming spin. In fact This is where the rubber probably shines the most it’s quite spin insensitive and blocks and active blocks/flatter hitting is where this rubber shines the most. This rubber isn’t the most spiniest however, but if the right technique is applied and depending on the blade, you can definitely Created enough spin to trouble opponents. Lastly, this rubber was strange to me and here’s why , the throw angle of this rubber seems extremely inconsistent. I often struggled to find the correct angle especially when playing more aggressive strokes this is something I always seem to struggle with more when using butterfly product especially the dignics 05 which I found also pretty inconsistent too in This department. In conclusion I’d say this rubber is a very solid option for its price especially if you can find the range with the throw angle. I’d recommend using it more on the backhand than the forehand but I do believe it could be used on either wing . For price it’s definitely worth a go if you want a more modern day rubber that can counter with ease and can also play flicks fairly well too , another reason I’d recommend it on the backhand side . Tibhar Hybrid MK

Review of Tibhar Hybrid MKThis is the worst rubber I’ve ever used. I tried it on both sides on the Anders Lind hexa carbon and it felt like a brick to play with. Pushes had no bite to them , ball come off the rubber with a very low fast spit out trajectory. Servicing was also very bad , I struggled to generate as much spin as I usually would . The k3 hybrid is far superior and although harder it felt softer than playing with this. I was very disappointed in this rubber , I’d recommend using it on a soft to medium hardness blade, probably all wood. The only thing it did well at was blocking , every other compartment Of the game it fell way short for me especially given the 45 pound price tag.Oct 01, 2025

Victas V > 15 Sticky Soft

Review of Victas V > 15 Sticky SoftUsed this rubber in a 2.0mm thickness on a joola flame extreme which is a hard fairly stiff all wood blade . I believe the hardness of this rubber is 47.5 degrees the same as the well known G1 fast arc and I’d say it’s similar to that rubber .It’s more of a grippy rubber than a tacky one . It didn’t really feel like a hybrid rubber which is how it was advertised, the G1 feels softer to me on impact and has a higher throw angle . For me this rubber is a backhand rubber because the throw angle is pretty low . Touches off receive of serve were pretty tricky I’d say this rubber is fairly spin sensitivity but due to the fairly low throw it made it a bit easier to return serve than the G1. I’d recommend for most amateur players using this on a medium hardness blade not a blade that’s too hard , it loses feeling when it’s too hard and spits out the ball too quickly off a hard blade . In terms of speed and power the rubber did have enough power to get the job done , I could impart a good amount of spin but only when you brush the ball correctly, its not that forgiving in this regard and in order to unlock this rubbers true spin potential you need the correct technique. I’d say to summarise a good rubber that’s a little overpriced in the uk you’re looking at £50 for a sheet but I got mine on table tennis 11 in the sale for £32 which is way more reasonable. It does look like a rubber that would last a good amount of time though, I don’t know though since I’ve only used it once. I gave it 8/10 Oct 12, 2025
