Andro Hexer
Review of Andro HexerIm using the Hexer rubber for quite a while now. Although i found it a very good replacement for my Butterfly G2 and G3 im kinda stuck in my performance at the moment. I have the feeling it doesnt bring what i used to do bring with my butterfly rubbers. It could be my frame (Tibhar samsonov Alpha sgs) or my skill :pAbove the table for agressive blocks and flips this rubber is king. There it is really fast. I havent found any better. Players with short pips get utterly destroyed with this rubber. But the further i get away from the table how harder i need to work to bring any spin in the ball and the speed is reduced as well for my feeling. I like to mix up my play and for an allround attacking player this rubber is good to start with. I found the durabilitiy of this rubber not as good as the butterfly rubbers i played with, but for the price its very reasonable. I recommend this rubber for every player with an allround attacking playstyle. However there comes a time where you want to try something new and improve your skill even further. Butterfly Tenergy 80
Review of Butterfly Tenergy 80I've been away for several years from this page and it gave me some time to test and try some rubbers. My absolute favorite ive tried to recent years is still this one. This rubber is an absolute dream for my playstyle. Im an off player on my forehand and like to counterattack from the backhand. Flicks, spins, smashing and chops this rubber does it all with ease. I had so much more fun playing with rubber and it gave me confidence. Those two things are the main thing for me. Fun and confidence! There is no rubber that makes you a better player all of sudden. You need to make effort in practice. But with fun and confidence that progress comes so much easier. There are only two downsides on this rubber. One is the price and the other is backhand flip/flick is sometimes bouncy. I've tried Rosena, Rakza 7 and the 80 FX version aswell but they both miss the kick and power this one gives. They give a lil bit more control though and are good rubbers aswell. Tenergy 80 is very consistent trough the months i played with it and the weardown was ok.Mar 31, 2023

Butterfly Rozena
Review of Butterfly RozenaPlayed with Rosena on my Timo boll ALC for more then a year on my BH side. Advertised and spoken by many as a more controllable tenergy alternative. Although it has some similarities with tenergy it doesn’t come that close to be honoust. Tenergy has far more gears and catapult effect in it. If you are used to tenergy this feels a bit like a downgrade. If you think tenergy is a tad to fast this offers the control you are looking for. Short game and blocking, spins at table and mid range are a breeze with this one. So it’s a good rubber in his own class. For intermediate players looking to up there game this rubber is an excellent choice. Starters beware: this is still a fast rubber. When the rubber wears down though the qualities of the rubber fade of quickly, while other rubbers keep the qualities a bit longer even when the wear down starts. Especially spin is dead and opponents will hit through it easily. So be ready to replace it when you feel it wears down.Mar 31, 2023

Butterfly Tenergy 05
Review of Butterfly Tenergy 05Played this rubber for almost 2 years on my FH. I can’t add much then already written in the many reviews here. Other then my own experience. I see my self as low end advanced player and have a lot of power in FH strokes the further I get away from the table. At the table and midrange I could control this rubber but at third line i sometimes lost control. This has nothing to do with the rubber but with my own skill. The power of my strokes and the power of the rubber combined was something else to handle. For the rest this rubber excels at everything and I can see why this is popular by many players. I read that tenergy 05 hard was better suited for my playstyle so i switched to that. On topic though the tenergy 05 has a real catapult springy effect as described which give a higher throw angle. Be ready to close your blade a bit more while blocking and chopping dead balls/floaters requires a lil adjustment or else they will fly to high. Topspins are real fun and the speed they get surprises opponents. Lifting heavy backspins was also easy. Serving and receiving is ok. Price is to high like almost all butterfly rubbers but I’m the quality is definitely there. Intermediate and beginners stay away from this one, get used to other fast rubbers first Mar 31, 2023

Butterfly Tenergy 80 FX
Review of Butterfly Tenergy 80 FXTried this rubber for about 6 months but I could not used to the soft sponge. I could compare tenergy 80 to this FX version cause that was what I was using at my FH at that time. I wrote my review at the tenergy 80 so I would refer to that. For my playstyle that rubber was way better then the FC version. The FX is still fast and short game is good but i found less control in it then the regular one cause the ball digs in the sponge far easier. The catapult effect of tenergy gets engaged with it easier aswell which for me lead to balls sailing over the table. I found that control on regular tenergy 80 was far more consistent. Butterfly Tenergy 05 Hard
Review of Butterfly Tenergy 05 HardAt the moment im using Tenergy 2.1 red on my backhand. I started on the forehand side but due i switch my Rakza 7 to my forehand which was terrible for my backhand. This rubber is excellent for mid-table or far away from the table plays in the forehand. You can feel the rubber grip into the ball when you bring your own power into the shots. With the medium-high throw angle its fairly easy to place the shots. On my backhand i can drive and flick fairly easy. Close to the table this rubber becomes much much harder to play and handle. Chops bounce easily of the rubber and if you do less you dont even feel the ball which can end up in balls dropping the dead. This asks a lot of adjustment which i dont recommend to beginner or intermediate players. If you are an agressive player who likes to attack as quick as possible this rubber is absolute a dream rubber. Im more an allrounder/counterattack/off mixed player who seeks a bit more control in the close to the table gameplay but gains the speed if you move backwards for more powerfull shots.Update: after 2 years I decided to give tenergy 05 hard a second chance but this time on my butterfly innerforce ZLC forhand. On the backhand I play with medium pips spinlord Keiler II. And I have to say that this combo for me is a very good combination. The rubber does everything I put into it. This rubber is at his best you if you play it actively. Blocks get more power and more control, however if the opponent plays with power,a passive block is also easy to perform. Same goes for spin and other strokes. Even the short game was better for me this time with no problems. And in combination with the Keiler II this a very deadly rubber since it kills everything I set up with my backhand. Feb 09, 2025

Butterfly Dignics 09C
Review of Butterfly Dignics 09CMost of the technical abilities this rubbers is allready written a couple of dozen times allready here. Also have to agree that the price is very very high for a single rubber while due to its medium tacky surface it has only an average durability in my opinion (still more durability then similar rubbers i have tried). Even if you thread it the right way and play 2 times a week it will only last 6 months at tops. For average amateur players thats the average time a rubber needs to get replaced. But for me those are the only downsides this rubber has for me. I really like this rubber even as an amateur. It all depends on your style of play and if you like medium hard to hard rubbers. Like most medium hard to hard rubber you need to activate the sponge to get the max out of it. Blocking, placement ( oh the placement is heaven) and topspin over topspin makes this rubber excel. The short game needs some adjusment for most, but for me it felt natural coming from medium hard/hard rubbers. Due to the tackiness you can make loop topspins, pushes with alot backspin and serves very easily with a lot of spin. Although when the rubber wears you will first notice this on these strokes cause players will hit more easily through those strokes. Due to the many gears the rubber offers you can play the short game at the table and half way or far away from the table. I played this rubber on the backhand and now on the forehand. Playing wise the only adjustment i needed to make was on my forehand smash a bit. Due to the tackiness the ball sticks a fraction of a second longer then other non tacky rubbers which led to some overshooting smashes in the beginning. If money is no issue then i would recommend this rubber to give it a try. Yasaka Rakza 7
Review of Yasaka Rakza 7My latest rubber which started on my BH and now is on my FH.At the BH I struggled a lot with Rakza 7. I just could not get the feeling to safely flick/flip, Drives or make topspin openers with my BH. It was not that forgiving. I even had to hold my hand/wrist in such an angle it it felt uncomfortable to make them. Blocks and chops were excellent. Serves and receives are are a joy. As my confidence was getting to a low point, i had to conclude that I might not suit my BH playstyle. I switched it to my FH and what a switch that was. On my forehand this has become a beast. I could place the ball where i want with topspins, serves flips and flicks. The control is insanely good. Chops and receiving in short game fall so short that i can control the game and wait for an opportunity to attack. I rarely make mistakes i can’t explain. I always know what I’ve done wrong because of the feedback this rubber gives me. I’m currently intrigued by the Dignics 09C but if I not like that the rakza 7 will be back on the FH. Really really impressed by rakza on my FH Mar 31, 2023
