Andro Rasant

Review of Andro RasantUsing the 2.1 on the FH of a Xiom V1 Quad. The spin is incredible. Players I couldn't out hit are now sometimes off the end of the table on returns due to the spin, and the side spin is very apparent. Very controllable, and most importantly, is not as sensitive to incoming spin as mant other spinny rubbers. I still prefer Rakza7 regular or soft for my BH.Mar 22, 2013

Andro Rasanter R42

Review of Andro Rasanter R42Mounted Rasanter R42 on the FH side of my Xiom Omega Tour as a replacement for Nittaku Fastarc G-1, which had good speed and spin, but did not give me the dwell time I wanted. R42 did the trick. It's as spinny as the Adidas P7 on my BH side, plenty fast enough, and gave me a bit more time on my stroke. I was anxious to embrace a new "plastic ball" rubber, but the idea of making my paddle too heavy was a deterrent. I was pleased to find that the uncut sheet of R42 in 2.0mm weighed in at 61 grams. In comparison, Fastarc G-1 is 65g, Xiom Omega 5 Europe is 70g, Tibhar El-S is 71g, and Tibhar MX-P is 73g! That meant a weight savings of 3-8 grams mounted! I have rated this rubber's weight as light for this reason. I really need to play this for awhile to see how it holds up, but first time out, I found it easy to play, not requiring any adjustments in my stroke.Mar 26, 2017

KTL (LKT) Pro XT

Review of KTL (LKT) Pro XTLove this rubber for my backhand. Great control, lots of spin, great for pushes and chops, plenty of spin on backhand serves, yet there's enough speed for a good wrist flick slam. Nice and light, and the 2.2 mm sponge is lighter than the 2.0. Every time I try something else, I keep coming back to this bargain price rubber. It's good and durable too.Oct 02, 2011

Palio Macro Era
Review of Palio Macro EraI had been looking for a forehand rubber that would better facilitate looping, and I wasn't keen on spending $60 or $70 a sheet. Macro Era has been a very pleasant surprise at a very reasonable price. Great sound, spin, and good speed. I'm an intermediate player, but everyone that has tried my setup has been impressed with this rubber.Oct 02, 2011

Tibhar Evolution FX-P
Review of Tibhar Evolution FX-PI had great expectations when I purchased the black FX-P in 1.9mm for my FH. My biggest complaint is that I could not glue the sheet flat. I used a good water base glue, and the same procedure I have always used for all rubbers, tensors and others. To my horror, when applied, the rubber was bumpy, almost like a leather grain effect. I tried regluing it with a similar result. I sent pictures to Tibhar, and to their credit, they sent me a replacement sheet, but said there was nothing wrong with the original. This time, I had someone else glue it and we got the same result. Both of us are experienced in the gluing of rubbers. As far as playing with the rubber, the throw angle is a bit lower than I like, and the weight is heavier than the Rakza 7 I normally use by about 6 grams. I will never buy another sheet of the Evolution. I believe that if you want to use an open cell sponge backed tensor, you can avoid my experience by using Tenergy or Donic Bluefire.Mar 07, 2013

Xiom Omega IV Elite
Review of Xiom Omega IV EliteDefinitely a soft sponge. I put it on the FH of a Xiom Hayabusa Zxi, and looping with it was a beautiful thing. When properly executed, I was rewarded with a distinctive click. Although some complain that the Omega IV Elite lacks speed, I found my drives were not noticeably slower than with the Andro Rasant I used previously. I made this rubber change because I found the new poly balls were so much more difficult to spin effectively, and I found it resolved that issue very nicely, adding some much needed dwell time to my FH shots. After playing with this rubber for a couple of months, I found that the sponge softened further, and the liveliness of the rubber suffered, so I would have to downgrade the durability.Mar 24, 2017

Yasaka Rakza 7 Soft
Review of Yasaka Rakza 7 SoftI have been using this on both sides of a Donic Waldner Senso Ultra Carbon, and it's gold! 2.0 FH and Max BH. Plenty of speed, great spin, and great control. Handles the soft touch shots beautifully, and serves well. Almost imperceptible difference between 2.0 and Max. Max is a touch faster, but just as controllable. I'll probably go all Max whenit's time for new rubber.Sep 20, 2012

Yasaka Rakza 7
Review of Yasaka Rakza 7I love the Rakza series. I use the Rakza 7 2.0 mm on my BH. There's plenty of spin and speed for my strong, flicky stroke, and provides nice spin in my serves. On my FH, I find I need just a tad more dwell time, so I use Rakza 7 soft in max. I have been using Rakza for almost a year and a half, and haven't found anything I like better. It's durable, spinny, and has a nice throw angle, yet handles chops and pushes without the catapult effect you get with Tenergy.Mar 08, 2013

Yasaka Rakza X Soft
Review of Yasaka Rakza X SoftI have used Rakza 7 Soft on my BH for a couple of years. The X soft is a few grams heavier, but other than that, I cannot really feel a lot of difference between the two. If I were to blind test both at random, I wouldn't be able to tell which one was which. That being the case, I'll stick with the 7 Soft and save the weight.May 26, 2015
