Andro Rasant Turbo

Review of Andro Rasant TurboI played with the Andro Rasant Turbo for a month or 2 on my FH and can safely say that I don't like it. I should have known in advance, but wanted to give it a try anyway. I tend to topspin with a rather flat arm movement, and although I use my legs and core to initiate the movement, I could not get decent speed.I also didn't feel the ball when hitting it, which will probably be because of the hard sponge. No spin could be generated while serving. I have to admit this is not my strong point. Lastly control was abysmal. Nearly impossible for me to push back short or block consistently. This rubber performed much better on my BH which I tried 2 times. Amazing speed and a lot of spin when timed well. I do find there is less margin of error than with a Yasaka Rakza 7. With this rubber I can vary spin and speed as wished. Conclusion: Good topspin FH when you have a lot of arm movement involved? Nearly impossible Good topspin BH? Yes I will change this for Stiga Calibra LT and write a review about it in due time. Jul 23, 2014

Stiga Calibra LT

Review of Stiga Calibra LT(used on FH; 2.0)Never thought I'd say this, but Stiga Calibra LT is better for me than T05!! T05 has it all: speed, spin, control. Calibra LT has even more speed and control. You can control every shot from dropping a serve back short (really short!) to spinning cross court full power. A slow loop can produce a lot of spin when the ball is lightly brushed. The ball trajectory seems to be longer but can be easily adjusted for. In fact when you get used to it the ball hits the table near the end and is much harder to block for your opponent. Pure speed kicks in when you loop full power. Flat strokes aren't that impressive. The main difference between T05 and this one is the lower throwing angle. This needs a bit of getting used to. I struggled with this for a couple of sessions. Now things are starting to improve. When you have to react really fast the Stiga Calibra LT is harder to handle than T05. So far I was not able to hit any "lucky" shots. You really have to be prepared for every shot and attack it with vigor! Conclusion: Wonderful product Aug 07, 2014

Yasaka Rakza 7

Review of Yasaka Rakza 7The best BH rubber I played with to date!I seem to have rather natural shots with my BH and could adapt to the Yasaka Rakza 7 without any problem. I liked it even better than Tenergy05. There were not so many differences though. The thing that tipped the ballance in favor of the Rakza 7 was the possibilty to hit a flat BH with a lot of consistency. If you prefer to hit spinny shots, that is not a problem as well. Control is amazing: short, long, left, right, middle... Blocking is a breeze: the rubber is not very sensitive to incoming spin. Conclusion: This is a keeper! Jul 23, 2014
