Butterfly Dignics 05

Review of Butterfly Dignics 05All hail the new king.Imo the best rubber for the new trend in TT (counterattack). Has many gears, not as bouncy as tenergy in the short game and longer dwell makes it easier to load backspin on pushes. Likewise, thin contact brushes are loaded with spin due to class leading grip on the ball. Counterattacking close to the table is super intuitive due to slightly longer dwell and lower, sharper arc while more annoying for opponents due to high spin and speed and deep placement. Blocks are easy to place with high speed but may be tricky due to the rubber's sensitivity to spin. Due to its inherent high speed, high grip and harder sponge, this rubber will not be for beginners or even intermediate players. Well developed strokes will be needed to unleash the rubber or suffer many unforced errors as a punishment. The price is insane but to be expected as the next step forward...... Durability remains to be tested Jul 05, 2019

Tibhar Evolution EL-S

Review of Tibhar Evolution EL-SUnfortunately outdated rubber. Topsheet is not grippy enough for the newer generation of ABS balls. I don't have the confidence when looping as balls may slip off the topsheet. Engaging the sponge yields a slight improvement but still less spinny than something like the new xiom rubbers with dynamic friction technology or even DHS goldarc-8. On the up side, this rubber is super controllable with a very linear power progression and is very insensitive to spin (due to low grip). I would recommend this rubber to beginners as the rubber is super controllable with a medium hardness feeling. For intermediate to pro players, stay far away from this rubber.Additional note: this rubber is heavily boosted out of the factory.boosting is required every few months if not it becomes extra dead. Side note: The sponge has a very pleasant playing character. It would be interesting for tibhar to release a short pimple rubber with this sponge due to the high level of control but high enough speed when more effort is put in. Victas VJC > 07 Sticky Extra

Review of Victas VJC > 07 Sticky ExtraRubber tested on lgy ALCRubber is one for the best blocking rubbers I've tested. It's low average speed, medium high throw angle and soft but tacky top sheet makes it extremely easy to place the ball wherever you want. Tacky top sheet makes spinning up backspin super easy. However, don't expect to hit any outright winners, this rubber lacks speed. Chopping is also difficult as the throw angle is too high. Durability seems pretty good after 2 weeks, just remember to keep the plastic sheet that it comes with to maintain the tack. Sep 29, 2020
