Donic Desto F3 Big Slam
|
Review of Donic Desto F3 Big Slamupdate on my previous review of Big Slam. I've played with this rubber for years and it's good for looping off my BH, and blocking. Have noticed one weakness with it recently though...I practice regularly with another 2200 player that has short pips on his BH and when I push the ball to his BH he can attack it easily. When he plays against other players that have Chinese rubber or rubber that has more spin than Big Slam he can't attack when they push to his BH. As a result I may switch to Baracuda as this definitely has more spin. If you play with Baracuda make sure you play with 2.0 rather than max as the 2.0 seems to play better.

Review of Donic Acuda S3Just played with my new sheet of 2.0 S3 last Friday and was very pleased overall. Have played with Desto F3 (max) and Big Slam (max) for the past 10 years so have always been a big fan of Donic rubbers, especially the Desto rubbers. I tried the 2.0 as I heard it was faster than Big Slam so thought I would have a little more control. I would say the 2.0 was a little faster than the max thickness for Big Slam. One thing that really stood out was that I didn't even notice much change from the F3 and F3 Big Slam I usually play with except for a little more speed/spin, and that was a good thing. The throw angle was medium-high, the spin was good, and the speed was good. I'm anxious to try Acuda S3 in max thickness to see how it compares to F3 and Big Slam max. If this lasts longer than F3 or Big Slam I'll continue playing with this rubber.

Review of Donic Bluefire M3Played with Desto F3 back in the day and loved it. Then F3 Big Slam came out and switched to it and loved it. Noticed I didn't have quite as much spin though as other rubbers. Then Acuda S3 comes out and first rubber I found in years that I could replace F3 and F3 Bigslam with. Better speed/spin and still pretty good control. Now comes along Bluefire series and decided to give M3 a try. It's heavier but got used to it. First thing I noticed right from the very first loop was that it had much more spin. This rubber produces some serious spin! It's quite firmer than S3 IMO and didn't think I could play with a firmer rubber like this but decided to play with it for another week. Finally went back to Acuda S3 and first thing I realized was that it didn't have nearly the amount of spin that Bluefire did. It's also is more springy like Andy Smith said. Made up my mind right there that I was putting the Bluefire back on and that was that. Played a tournament with it after about using it for 2 weeks and lost 3 close matches to 2250 - 2300+ players. Just played 2nd tournament with it and won the event. Beat a 2250 - 2300 player in finals and one of the best matches I've ever played. The spin I was able to generate with it really caused problems for my opponents, and the blocking was superb. I blocked many outright winners with it. This rubber is really great!

Review of Giant Dragon TopENERGY SoftLet me start off by stating that I am now a reseller of Giant Dragon. I became a reseller at our club because I was looking for a tt company that had good products that didn't cost as much as the European/Japanese products. I liked the way Karate soft and Taichi played, but they were more moderately priced at $18 and good rubbers for beginner and intermediate players. TopENERGY is their high-end rubber for advanced players so I was very anxious to try it out. Just got some sheets a few days ago and gave them a try over the weekend. First off...the sponge is PURPLE for the black rubber! Have never seen a sponge like this before. The sponge is slightly tacky. The red sheet has an orange sponge. The sponge is a little rough like Tenergy and Baracuda but not as much. The rubber is also heavier like Tenergy and Baracuda. I put a sheet on a Donic Burn Off- blade, and a Giant Dragon OFF balsa/kevlar blade. The rubber is medium to medium hard, but plays a little softer. I found I was able to brush loop with the rubber, and loop drive as well with no problems. The rubber really has a high throw. The first couple of balls I pushed with it were very high. Couldn't believe how high the ball went when I pushed with it, but adjusted after a few minutes. I then gave this to my 9-year old son who is only about 1000, but takes lessons every week and has a loop more like a 1500+ player. He looped better with this rubber than any he has looped with to date. He has played with Baracuda 1.8mm, Sriver 2.0, Air Scirocco 2.0, and Vario BigSlam. His looping was immediately much more consistent as the rubber had better control/spin than the other mentioned rubbers. The rubber is on the heavy side like the Tenergy rubbers, so I would recommend putting this on a lighter blade. This rubber was also very good at looping underspin. This was a breeze! Have only played 1 time with this, but was very impressed. Recommend playing with this on a light, OFF- to Off blade. You won't be disappointed with this rubber.

Review of Giant Dragon SubmarineThis rubber is designed for defensive players who chop and occasionally attack. I'm a reseller for Giant Dragon, and I recommended this rubber for a defensive player we have at the club. He chops very well with this rubber due to it's spin and high level of control. I hit for a while with this last night and I was impressed with the overall quality. It's not a fast rubber, but it's not supposed to be. It is very good at chopping and you can attack with this when given a chance. Overall I'm very impressed with this rubber and would recommend it for defensive players as this has excellent control with good spin.

Review of Giant Dragon SuperSpin G3 HardThe G3 Hard rubber is slightly tacky, light in weight, and fast. It's easy to loop with, and overall a good rubber. This would be a good FH rubber, as the G3 soft would probably be better for the BH. Give this rubber a try.

Review of JOOLA Energy Green Power X-SoftGreat rubber out of the box if you like soft rubbers, but just like Express X-soft it only lasts about 2 - 3 weeks, then BAM...performance drops off dramatically. Whats up with that Joola! I'm done with Joola rubbers, am going back to Donic. Try Baracuda if you like soft, spinny rubbers that last a few months.

Review of JOOLA Samba+Ordered this for my son who loops on both sides. Put a sheet of 2.0 on his BH (Stiga Offensive) blade. Has a nice throw, good spin, and great control. If it lasts as long as other players say it does then this is a winner. Not the fastest rubber, or the most spin, but great allround rubber.

Review of JOOLA X-Plode Sensitivebought this rubber based on the good reviews. I've been playing with Acuda S3 the past couple of years and 1 reviewer said he switched from S3 to this rubber and found it to play better for him away from the table. All I can say is that I was very disappointed in the lack of spin this rubber has. I tried it in 2.0 on a Joola Wing Fast blade, and although the blade was fairly fast I felt like my loops had very little spin. This rubber is fast and easy to play with...I'll give you that, but it produces very little spin and I will search for something with better spin or go back to S3. I think some of the other Joola rubbers such as Samba+, Express 1 & 2, and Phenix are better rubbers than this one.

Review of JOOLA Mambothis rubber is seriously slow. It's pretty good for allround rubber, but you need to have it on a fast blade or else you're gonna struggle. I would also recommend it in max.

Review of JOOLA Phenix 48this is a hard rubber that is built for speed and power. I would say it has a medium throw angle. Not too high and not too low. It seems like a good rubber, but probably won't be for everyone since it is a hard rubber. The spin is ok, didn't seem like anything special, but the speed is good. Definitely not a BH rubber.

Review of JOOLA Rhyzm 425Played with this in black 2.0 for a few hours and was a little disappointed. This rubber wasn't as fast or spinny as I'm used to so going back to Bluefire M3 on my BH. Don't get me wrong, this rubber is good quality and some people will probably like it just fine, but I didn't feel like it had as much spin or speed as I'm used to. If you're a player that just wants something with decent spin/speed on your BH then this will probably work for you. If you have a powerful BH and use this as your weapon then play with Bluefire or some other similar rubber. I tried it in 2.0, but it might be better in max.

Review of JOOLA Rhyzm TechHave played with the RT in Max thickness on my BH on an Off carbon blade and I've played very well with it. It has plenty of speed and spin, and the control is fine. I can brush loop and drive my loops with it. The throw angle is definitely higher than the other Rhyzm rubbers. I didn't rate the durability because I've only had it 1 week, but I suspect it will be good since the regular Rhyzm rubbers have good durability. I do disagree with the previous review though that says it's pretty much the same as the "P" series. I have played with the "P" Rhyzm rubber and it doesn't have the spin this rubber does. This rubber is much better IMO than the Rhyzm P rubber. I've let a couple of 2200 players hit with it on their BH and FH and both said they felt like they couldn't miss. Give this rubber a try, you'll like it!

Review of JOOLA Golden Tango PSI never cared for Chinese rubbers because they were always too slow. Joola came out with this Chinese / European hybrid and I decided to give it a try. The topsheet is very tacky, and the throw angle is very high. It's slower than I was used to, but still much faster than the typical Chinese rubbers I've tried. I played with it on my BH and my loops were loaded with Topspin! After playing with it a while I decided to boost it to speed it up, so I used the boost sold by Zeropong and put 2 layers of boost on it. The first layer I let dry for about 14 hours. After that I put another layer on and let it dry for another 12-14 hours. The rubber curled up a little, but I had no problem putting it back on the blade. The boost definitely gave it the extra speed I wanted and I continued playing with it for several months. This rubber is very good, especially for the BH. Your serves, loops, and pushes will be loaded!

Review of JOOLA Dynaryz ACCI have been playing with this rubber since it first came out several months ago and it's absolutely one of the best rubbers you can play with. It is fast, spinny, and has very good control. Players at my club that have bought it say they feel like they can't miss with it. You can hold the ball on the racket very well and do whatever you want to with it. Some players prefer the AGR on the FH as it's a faster, harder rubber, but I play with it on both sides on the Joola Freeze blade. My FH and BH loops are very good and I can loop very consistently with it. Excellent rubber, and at $65 it's $10 - $15 less than Tenergy! Good job Joola!

Review of JOOLA Dynaryz AGRI had been playing with the slightly softer Dynarzy ACC (~47 degrees), and decided to give it a try. This rubber is supposed to be about 54 degrees hardness, and all I can say is this is a Beast! This rubber is hard, and not just regular hard, it's mega hard, but loops off of this rubber are low and fast with a ton of spin! I tend to brush loop more than driving hard into the ball so I preferred the ACC, but if you can't get used to the hardness you will LOVE this rubber! It's very good for flat hitting, and it's great for power players.

Review of Yinhe Mars V2First off before I go any further let me say that TTXOnline sent me this rubber to write a review on. Rating level approx. 2150 - 2200. I've been playing with the new Mars V2 for a couple of weeks now on a Donic Burn Off- blade. The weight of the rubber is slightly heavier than the European rubbers I normally play with, but it's not as heavy as Tenergy. The sponge looks somewhat similar to the Tenergy sponge and feels like it's about the same hardness. The throw angle of this rubber is a medium throw, and the speed is average for a Chinese rubber. I was able to brush loop with the rubber, and found it to play pretty good from close to mid distance, but would not recommend this rubber for further away. Pushing was easy with the rubber, and blocking/hitting was also pretty easy. Overall I give this rubber a good review and feel it's definitely worth the price tag. It's not a Tenergy substitute as it doesn't have near the speed/high throw angle of the Tenergy rubber, but it's a good quality rubber that I would recommend for players from beginner up through intermediate players.
