DHS Hurricane 8-80

Review of DHS Hurricane 8-80One thing that stands out about this rubber is it's unmatched durability.I am an intermediate level amateur, have been playing with this rubber for 10 months (trainings and competitions). By my own estimates, I have played with it around 140 hours. The rubber is still good after that, with lots of spin and barely any drop in performance, can easily go another 1-2 months it seems. I always kept the rubber clean, used the protective film when storing, so that helped. I have the 38 degree version, black. First 2 months I used it on my forehand. After that, i turned the racket and played the 8-80 on my backhand. The rubber is very easy to use, very controllable. It is definetely not the most powerful rubber, but for me it was not a problem as i can always generate enough power simply with the kinetic chain. As for the spin, you could probably find a spinnier rubber, but this one still has enough spin for most amateur players. One big advantage of this rubber is that it doesn't require boosting. So among the non-boosted rubbers this one will be one of the top choices, especially given its price (around 30 EUR). The only drawback is a relatively high weight. I personally didn't suffer from it a lot, because my other rubber was luckily a bit lighter. But if you but 8-80 on both sides, this would be way too heavy. Oct 11, 2026

Double Fish Volant Phoenix 2

Review of Double Fish Volant Phoenix 2Quite a mediocre rubber. I played it for 5 months in the beginning of this year (twice a week).Luckily i got it only for 10 EUR, so i wasn't super upset about the purchase. I was just curious how a rubber in this price category would play. Well, as for me, it plays exactly for that price. There is nothing extremely bad about this rubber, but also not much to enjoy (except for the price). It is quite average across all the main characteristics (speed, spin, control), and even durability was not spectacular: after 4 months of play (twice a week) its performance noticeably declined, and after 5 months i had to change it. To sum it up: if you are experimenting and / or tight on budget, you might give it a try. But in general i wouldn't recomend it. Oct 10, 2026

Gewo Elaxxon EFT 50.0

Review of Gewo Elaxxon EFT 50.0I can't say i am super experienced in testing rubbers and writing reviews, so my review might not be super accurate.I bought this rubber back in May 2025. It was a relatively fresh (and seemingly unpopular) rubber, so there were literally only 2 reviews/tests that i was able to find on the internet at that point. I still decided to give it a try, because i like to experiment, and the price was quite lucrative (I got it for 27 EUR). During the first two training sessions, i tried it both on BH and FH to see where it would be more appropriate. Whereas both options are possible, depending on your individual preference and playing style, it seemed to me that this rubber is less appropriate for BH due to some lack of grip. This actually was quite surprising, given that GEWO uses the marketing term "eGrip" to describe the technology of this rubber. So eventually i used this rubber only on FH after that. The less-than-spectacular grip of this rubber didn't bother me on the FH so much, because of my playstyle: i tend to prefer flatter hits, which worked well here. With that said, top-spins were easy and reliable with this rubber, but they were relatively easy to receive (for the opponent) due to the lack of spin. I was not impressed about the longevity, as the rubber half-died after around 6 months (with 2 trainings per week on average). Overall, i think this rubber performed up to its price, so i can't say i am disappointed. Luckily, i was able to get it with some discount, buy I definetely wouldn't pay 35 EUR for it.
