Nittaku Fastarc G-1
|

Review of Nittaku Fastarc G-1This rubber is a stubborn rubber. It will play horribly at the beginning. Looping, pushing, control etc are all bad. It will also feel weak when smashing hard. Ball will fly out when you hit hard. The Sponge felt like super stiff. You HAVE to 'break in' the rubber for at least 10 hours or more. After that, WOW! Everything people said about this rubber is true! I wont tell you what they said cos so many of them said the same thing here. Remember.... before you review this amazing rubber, play it for more than 10 hours first and be rewarded with a very enjoyable rubber. Nittaku release the new G1 MAX 2.2mm....which is good news. I have yet to try. Anyone tried it? Mar 26, 2023

TSP Ventus Basic

Review of TSP Ventus BasicDont let the word 'basic' fool you. This is a very nice rubber for BH! I used it to learn RPB and it helped speed up the progress easier than other faster BH rubbers. It is not a super fast rubber...but it has tons of CONTROL.My Underspin strokes are not easy for the opponent to handle cos of the extra dwell time making the ball sink lower and more spinny than fast rubbers. It is fast enough for BH top spin for intermediate players. CONTROL is definitely its best character. You dont want a fast rubber that makes your ball keep going out and let your opponents get easy points. With this rubber, you have a higher chance of always keeping the ball on the table and thus increasing your chances of winning. If you have never tried this BH rubber, it is time you do. You will be surprised at how easy it is to play BH with it. Jul 10, 2020

Review of TSP XSF-1 21 Offensive SpongeToo bouncy . No matter how I tried, the ball kept bouncing high and hard to control. It really is a very lame rubber. I dont know why TSP bothered to produce this.Dec 10, 2020

Victas V > 15 Extra

Review of Victas V > 15 ExtraAfter playing Nittaku G1 (2mm), V15 Extra will feel like a G1 with Steroids. It is more powerful, more solid and faster than G1 yet with the same excellent control of the famous G1. Both rubbers are also spinny, but the Victas V15 extra has more gears. Serves are very spinny and will force pressure to opponents. Looping is lovely. Smashing is good too. Pushes take some time to get used to, but it's not hard at all after a few times. Blocking is easy. You dont have to close the blade angle too much when blocking. It is quite a forgiving rubber.I know Nittaku released G1 with 2.2mm recently which I have yet to try, so I cant comment if the new G1 2.2mm is as good as the Victas V15 extra. Dont spend more money on the new V20 and V22 cos they are virtually the same as V15 Extra. Mar 26, 2023

Yasaka Rakza 7

Review of Yasaka Rakza 7Control is good. Not a fast rubber which is why the control is good. It is not as spinny or as powerful as Fastarc G1, Donic M1, Victas V15 Extra or Tenergy of course. i wont recommend it to people who are loopers cos the spin is not damaging or ferocious enough to unsettle your opponents, unless you are a very high level player. It performs well in smashing and blocking. The rubber absorbs the spin and drives from your opponents well enough for your blocks to remain low most of the time. Smashes are easy cos of the medium arc the rubber projects. Now I understand why so many people use this for their BH instead. It excels in CONTROL...albeit at the expense of spin and power. This is not strong enough for me to use as a FH rubber, but I can see how good it is as my BH rubber. Looping is not its strength. It doesnt have enough power to cause a lot of damage cos its simply not spinny enough when compared to Fastarc G1, Donic M1, Victas V15 Extra or Tenergy. Yes, due to its good control, most of the time the ball will land safely when you loop but the lack of spin and power will be easily blocked or counter looped by opponents, negating all your loops. Conclusion: If you want Rubber that has good CONTROL and slower, this is a good one. If you are a looper and rely mostly on looping to win points, look elsewhere.
