Andro Hexer Powersponge
Review of Andro Hexer PowerspongeAlmost as slow as a classical rubber, (Mark V) and comparable spin. But heavier. I tried to use on FH and is clearly worse than Vega Europe. It may work on the BH, but there are many alternatives such as Vega Europe that are not worse in any respect and have better spin.Oct 31, 2020

Andro Rasant Grip

Review of Andro Rasant GripSadly, discontinued. I enjoy rallying and this is my ideal rubber, excellent blocks and counters. As it was in storage for years, it lost speed and gained control. But it can still lift backspin as well as any rubber I tried.Oct 31, 2020

Donic Coppa

Review of Donic CoppaThis is a "classical" rubber, which means un-bouncy. It has a little bit of tack.A bit harder and faster and spinier compared to Mark V or Focus III Snipe. 43g glued in 2.1 mm. After 70h of play still going strong. I played with tensors and the classical rubbers are easier to control, over and close to the table. So pushes are very easy to keep low. Blocks and counters are also very good. It is looping where I need more help. Mar 12, 2021

Friendship/729 Focus 3 Snipe
Review of Friendship/729 Focus 3 SnipeUsed in 2.1mm on both FH and BH, fast carbon blade. Hardness: 42.I am OK with this rubber on my BH, but dislike it on FH due to its low throw and failure to generate topspin from small moves. As a result I can't get my topspin/sidespin blocks over the net, and my (admittedly lower-quality) loops also need to be very precise in height or they will not land on the table. Circa 37g glued, medium-soft, rather insensitive to incoming spins (compared to my other rubbers); of-course cheap. Did not last long on my 12-year old son's FH (but did force him to make large, more-correct moves). IMO, good only for early training or money-challenged players. JOOLA Maxxx 400

Review of JOOLA Maxxx 400Joola Maxxx 400 (used in 2.2mm on FH and 2.0 mm on BH, medium-fast blade). With very good (top)spin and medium-high throw, it allowed me to have satisfying long rallies when hitting with friends. Used currently by my 12-year old son; his imperfect loops are also rather spinny. "Big Window" like Xiom Vega Europe - easy to land your topspin on the table. Rather heavy, average 44g glued. Bouncy and rather sensitive to incoming spin, I struggled in the short game and serve receive. Jun 21, 2015

Stiga Airoc M
Review of Stiga Airoc M(used in 1.7mm on FH, Allround blade)This rubber generates very good topspin from small-moves FH topspin/sidespin blocks; is also very good in counterhits and direct hits (quite fast, and it feels like hitting with a brick). My technique for loops and pushes is rather weak and the results are mixed. Lower throw than Xiom Vega Europe. Heavy, I estimate it at 48g glued, and the most sensitive to incoming spin among my rubbers. Given these and the price, I don't intend to buy it again. Maybe for my son once he starts beating me consistently; but then will likely pay extra and get him Tenergy. Also, at 1.7mm after three months of use, I started to hit with the wood on the more direct hits, and don't like the feeling. Jun 20, 2015

Stiga Calibra Tour S
Review of Stiga Calibra Tour SUsed 1.9mm on FH and BH, Allround blade.I can't generate good topspin with shorter FH moves. Also, I hit with the wood on the more direct hits, and don't like the feeling. Circa 39g glued. Good middle-of-the-road rubber, nothing exceptional IMO. I am sure one can use it just fine with very good technique; I don't have such technique and even then I would prefer more short-move spin (for topspin/sidespin blocks). I got it cheaper than Xiom Vega Europe but overall prefer the Vega (more spin from short moves and higher throw and no worse in other respects). Jun 20, 2015

Stiga Carbo Sound
Review of Stiga Carbo SoundLightweight (38g glued) classic rubber (neither bouncy nor dead),a bit soft. I can generate good spin on my BH while control is good as well for the short game. A bit better than the very popular Focus III Snipe in all respects but price. Feb 18, 2018

Stiga Innova Ultra Light
Review of Stiga Innova Ultra LightUsed for 110 hours on a Stiga Allround, BH; blocks and pushes are OK whilespeed and spin are lacking. More consistent than a short pip, but heavier at 39g glued. More durable and spin-sensitive than Focus III Snipe, which I prefer nevertheless as it has more spin at the same low speed and weight. Oct 31, 2020

TSP Agrit

Review of TSP AgritIn use on BH, Stiga Allround, BH. 36g glued, this is the main advantage, and it has some bounce which you can use for fast blocks and traditional flicks. Little spin and spin-sensitivity; more consistent than a short pip.Oct 31, 2020

Victas V > 11 Extra

Review of Victas V > 11 ExtraWith crispier counters and no loss of spin, V11 Extra is better for me than Vega Europe and Rakza 7 Soft. Also easier pushes, all at the same weight of 43g cut.Oct 31, 2020

Xiom Vega Europe
Review of Xiom Vega Europe(used in 1.8mm on BH, Allround blade)This rubber generates very good topspin from smaller-moves BH counterhits, and combined with the higher arc allows me good BH topspin-blocks as well. I like it a lot when hitting with friends (when it comes to points, I use long pips). Feels medium-soft to me, and is rather light, circa 38g glued. I have not tried enough pushes/return serve and don't have a real BH loop. Given the moderate price, it achieved my goal of having fun. Next time however I'll search for something lighter, even if pricier. Jun 20, 2015
