The best mix of power with control
Sriver is by far the most popular rubber covering used by table tennis players of all kinds from Champions to beginners. The most recent addition to the SRIVER range was SRIVER FX (flexible). Sriver with a soft sponge underneath. Now we are launching a new member of the SRIVER family, SRIVER EL (elastic) with a mid-soft elastic sponge that has been specially selected so far for only some of out leading world ranked players. Do you like a hard sponge? Or, do you prefer a soft one? If you like a hard sponge, then you can choose the "normal" SRIVER. If you prefer a soft one, then SRIVER FX is ideal for your play. But if your requirement is in between the two and this is where most of the top players are placed, then we recommend the new SRIVER EL. EL's mid-soft sponge gives the best mix of power with control.
Great rubber for BH, easy to block, flip and push. Great for attacking as well. It seems a bit hard when pressing down on the rubber, but when playing it feels medium/soft. This rubber offers alot of control, great for beginners/intermediate players. Very linear rubber (does what you put into it).
Used it for circa 4 years (with some pauses) without changing it and it still felt like it was just slightly used. I bought the rubber again but after my play improved the rubber started to feel a little bit slow. Control is perfect, it goes where you want it to go. Spin is a bit lackluster but fairly managable. There are a lot of better rubbers for less money than this but I would definitely recommend it to an amateur-intermediate player in all aspects.
I played this rubber on my backhand when I was just starting out. I am pretty sure this rubber is meant to be boosted, but those days are gone now. It has good control, but is just much too slow without any additional tuning. If you aren't planning to tune this rubber yourself, just get a modern tensor rubber (tenergy, omega, acuda, mx, etc.) It is still a good rubber for beginners, but if you are going to invest in a new setup for yourself, you might as well get something better.
It's still possible to play with the rubber in 2024 especially if you have issues with receive... It's obviously not the best choise for now but if you're used to play with Sriver in your childhood - why not? =) ... If you have a new one you can even win a tournament (but only one - because Consistency|durability are worse than nonEL-Sriver) =)
