To me this is a perfect beginner or training rubber, very balanced with great control and CHEAP. If you use it in contests you likely won't like it, because it has beginner/training rubber performance. I think it might improve a lot of newer players to back up and practice with a rubber like this instead of using high performance rubbers all the time, just have something with more performance in tournaments. NOTE: I no longer would use this rubber as long as you can get kokutaku 868.

An ideal beginner rubber. Don't bother with expensive Srivers, Mark Vs, Mendos; just give any beginning or bad player serious about improving a pair of these in 2.2mm on a reliable cheap ALL/ALL+/OFF- blade (e.g. Yinhe N-11s, Sanwei M-8, LKT Instinct, etc.) and you will see them be forced to develop proper technique and strokes, with nothing wasted if they drop the game within a few years. I think that despite what the reviews say it's a rather heavy rubber with a harder than average sponge and also very durable if you just cover it with a plastic protector and put it in a case after use.

A good beginner rubber due mainly to it's price and simplicity. These rubbers last quite a while so they take "beginner abuse" quite well and by the time they need replacing, you'll be ready for something faster and spinnier. This isn't an overly tacky rubber and while it can't pick up a ball off the table, it does react enough to incoming spin to effectively teach a newer player how spin effects the game. Sponge-wise, it's fairly-firm and lacks any sort of real ability to engage the sponge, that said, it's a great rubber in the short game. Again, this is a very good do it all rubber for newer players or those looking for a step up from pre-made rackets.
