Review of Butterfly H.S. CryzerVery soft looping blade. Large comfortable handle. Works well with medium-hard rubbers. Has average weight, good construction and little but enough vibration to provide feedback.

Review of Butterfly Defence 2 (II)Great control blade. I used it with tackiness C and it was very consistent, great for looping, not as slow as expected from a defensive blade but with great control and touch. Recommended for an allround player and of course defensive players that use long pips together with some fast spinny rubber in their forehand.

Review of Butterfly Timo BollGreat blade for the control oriented player. Used it with unglued sriver and is a marvel in blocking, touch shots and close to the table play. Very good balance. Offensive players, unless using with very fast rubbers, may look elsewhere.

Review of Darker Hinoki TanpanThis is the first 1-ply hinoki blade I use, so cannot really compare with other similar blades. But in general, to me this is a solid, somewhat stiff and medium soft blade, with a unique different feeling from most others. Combined with medium hard rubbers it is excellent for pushes and blocks, good for loops and average for smashes. For its speed it has great control and gives confidence and stability away from the table. It has little vibration, except if hit directly in the middle of the face, where it vibrates more. Overall a great versatile and linear blade. Compared to the tanpan, many other blades seem flimsy and inconsistent, difficult to let go of this one after getting used to it.

Review of Dawei MatrixA surprisingly good blade for the money. Its speed is probably a solid OFF, it is very responsive and bouncy. It has though a hollow feeling and produces a relatively strange sound. It also has a pretty small sweet spot and big speed difference between the center and sides. It is a good match with Chinese rubbers, the straight handle is large and feels very comfortable. With heavy rubbers it is a bit head heavy, but being used to wrb handle blades I loved its balance. For the price, you cannot go wrong with this one.

Review of Friendship/729 Black Whirlwind TransformerFor its price, it is pretty good, control oriented blade. A good match with medium hard chinese tacky rubbers, for the allround player that plays with controlled pushed and topspinning.

Review of Hunter X-CarbonHunter X-Carbon is for people who like stiff balsa center light blades. Pretty good for hitters, not the best for looping, blocking may be hard due to lack of weight. Craftsmanship is excellent, flare handle is very comfortable, although on the thin side. Relatively thick as well. The perpendicular carbon strips make the blade stiffer but in my opinion do not increase the sweet spot as much as normal carbon layers would.

Review of Hunter EqualizerHunter seems to be a brand that Paddle Palace is distributing/promoting, with blades made in China. The equalizer is a Stiga allround copy, as indicated by paddlepalace stuff. It is relatively slow but solid, has some vibration. It also has good construction and is great for beginners and allround players. A bit on the expensive side, especially since Stiga Allround, with similar properties, is cheaper.

Review of JOOLA CatThe texalium layer makes the blade stiff and almost vibration free, providing minimal feedback. The top layer seems to be soft and allows some dwell time. Has pretty big sweet spot and is very light. Has good control but average speed.

Review of JOOLA KoolA very fast blade, probably too fast for most players. It is very stiff and thick. The blade is light and the flare handle is extra comfortable. Probably not the best blade for spinny loops, not enough dwell time. The outer softer wood layers are pretty thin.

Review of Nittaku NarcusNice blade, good for producing spin, average/light weight, good construction. It is a bit thick, has some vibration but not too much, the flare handle is a bit small, in the Nittaku tradition. The blade is offensive but not too fast, it can be used effectively close to the table or far, depending on rubber choice.

Review of Stiga Allround ClassicA classic blade for many generations with soft limba outer plies. The blade is pretty slow, gets more lively only with very fast rubbers. Complements well fast medium-hard rubbers for allround game, has small sweet spot with lots of vibration, letting you know where you hit the ball, so great for instructional and correctional purposes.

Review of Stiga Offensive Classic WRBA bit faster than the stiga allround, the offensive classic wrb is a very good blade for the close to the table slow looper and combined with the proper rubbers can serve both controlled and aggressive players. Very good construction. The older version seems to have a bit smaller head than the new one. The wrb handle can potentially create a timing problem to people not used to it. Relatively light. Overall a great blade, especially for the allround spin oriented player.

Review of Yasaka BalsaStiff and hard for an all-wood blade. Good for hitting and blocking, horrible for spinning the ball, especially loops. Too light to be an excellent hitter blade. Lack of vibration and high speed make it a poor choice for beginners. Anatomic handle is very comfortable and blade has nice construction.

Review of Yasaka Sweden ClassicA slow and very flexible blade, slower than the Stiga allround classic, gives good feedback and exceptional control. It has very good construction with smooth edges and attention to detail, despite its low price. The anatomic handle is relatively thin, but still comfortable. Overall a great blade for beginners and players who value control and ball placement, while having the potential for huge spin generation with appropriate rubbers.

Review of Yasaka Gatien Extra 3DVery flexible blade, almost too flexible. I tried with soft rubbers (Juic Driva Smash Ultima) and it was almost unplayable, too slow and mushy. I guess harder rubbers should be used with it. The construction is nice and I found the flare handle pretty comfortable.

Review of Yinhe W-4A pretty hard, stiff blade, the outer plies are very thin and underneath is a carbon layer producing a high "ping" sound. The cheapest model of the W series. Pretty good for hard hitting, not much for anything else. Good construction and pretty much vibration free.
