Review of Dawei WavestoneThis blade is hard, very stiff, with very little dwell time , very bouncy, but not very fast. Also, it has poor touch, due to the outer limba layer which is too thin , so you feel all the ALC. I suggest you get a Viscaria.Jun 28, 2021

DHS Power-G PG3
Review of DHS Power-G PG3Very good blade, hard with a bit of flex. Koto outer, then spruce, then ayous. A bit heavy. You can make it lighter by hollowing out the handle with a drill :) It's also a bit oversize, so you can reduce the blade face a bit.PG2 is thinner and more flexible than this (too much -- don't use PG2). Basically , try PG3 if you can't handle Viscaria. Jun 28, 2021

DHS Power-G PG2

Review of DHS Power-G PG2Hard and very flexible. You can't finish the point with this, as the blade flexes too much. Get a PG3 instead: it's a very balanced blade.Jun 28, 2021

DHS Power-G PG7

Review of DHS Power-G PG7This is a flexible 7 ply of medium hardness. it is a more flexible clipper wood. outer ply is limba (unlike Pg2 and pg3 which are koto). not hard as koto. This blade is a bit slow. I suggest you get PG5-X instead: it's a much better and modern blade, with the same feel as PG7 (some flex, limba outer) but faster.Jun 28, 2021

DHS Power-G PG5X
Review of DHS Power-G PG5XThis is a variation of innerforce blades. Limba outer, and ALC as the third layer (not the second). It has quite a bit of flex and dwell, and is not hard. Compared to Viscaria it is softer, more flexible and slower. Compared to PG5 it is stiffer and faster (and slighly thicker). Weight is 87 gr, 5 grams less than PG5. The difference in weight comes from the handle which is hollow in PG5-X but solid wood in PG5. Overall, very cheap and great quality. Makes very spinny openings. Works great with Hurricane 8 40, boosted. It's a blade with a lot of dwell, so it works well with very hard rubbers.Jun 16, 2021

Donic Persson Powerplay
Review of Donic Persson PowerplayThe perfect blade for offensive players.hard, flexible, fast, high throw blade. The flexibility gives it a high throw in loops. The hardness gives it speed in loops, and low throw in block. Speed is between OFF and OFF+. It is almost flexible as a 5-ply (e.g. stiga offensive cr, DHS pg2), but it holds up well at max power, so you don't have the problem that powerloops to kill go too high and long. (which happens with hard 5 ply blades such as infinity, dhs pg2, offensive cr). block is great: keeps the ball low, because of the hardness. (and the blade almost does not flex when blocking, only when looping) sweet spot is big but not huge. To improve on that, you will have to switch to carbon. Only drawback is that, being hard, you can't hesitate when you loop. your loops must have power. Best blade I ever tried (I tried maybe 60 blades). Jun 30, 2015

Stiga Clipper
Review of Stiga ClipperThis is a great blade for loopers and blockers.the blade is great close to table, because it has good spin due to the soft wood, and has good control because of the stiffness. loops to kill are powerful, that's why controlled loopers (like me) may like this blade. block is great. The blade is almost stiff. you can still feel a bit of flex but much less than the Stiga Offensive series. I suggest heavy versions of this blade (92 grams and more) because otherwise you may lack the power to finish the point against dead balls, if your rubber is not very fast (no problem with m2, or coppa x1, or aurus, but serious problems with vega pro). Stiga Offensive Classic (OC)
Review of Stiga Offensive Classic (OC)good blade for learning to loop. it's very thin and flexible. a lot of dwell time, needed to learn to loop.the downside is it flexes too much when you powerloop, so you won't finish the point or will go long. that's why it's only for beginners. it is a bit harder than clipper wood, but as I said it's much more flexible. it's a slow blade. When you have learned the opening loop, you can switch to another blade , still soft and flexible, but more balanced, like PG5 or PG5-X. Blade thickness varies from 5.4mm to 5.6mm. Stiga Offensive CR WRB
Review of Stiga Offensive CR WRBThis is a great blade. Fast, very flexible, very hard blade with great touch. The flexibility gives it catapult and gears; the hardness makes it fast (and relatively lower throw). Speed: it is fast (almost off+), but with a LOT more flex. If you have a tensor rubber, you will not need to smash, you can finish the point with a loop. Compared to stiga offensive classic, this blade is noticeably faster, has a lower throw, and is less spinny in opening loops. Safe spinny loops are much more difficult. This blade is mostly for mid distance looping, whereas offensive classic is for close-to-table looping (with tensor rubbers). Wang Liqin used to play with this blade when he was number 1. (but he changed the handle to make it look like a DHS blade) Mine weights about 89 grams, not little, which is puzzling since the blade is very thin (5.4 mms). Mar 10, 2013

Stiga Offensive Wood NCT
Review of Stiga Offensive Wood NCTThis is a wooden blade, soft, some flex, fast, light, with a great touch.Use it if you need a lighter offensive classic. More in detail, this blade is: - stiffer than Offensive Classic and Offensive CR. But more flex than Allround wood NCT and Allround classic. More flex than Clipper wood. - Much softer than Offensive CR. Softer than Offensive Classic. As soft as a clipper wood. - slower than offensive CR, Clipper wood, mostly due to the lower weight. Warning: This blade becomes slower with time because it has an NCT coating (sealing layer) that goes away with time. I have one new and one used and the difference in speed is noticeable. It may be difficult to finish the point, because the blade is light, soft, and flexible. not powerful. - Lighter than OC, OCR, Clipper. (mine are 78 grams) This blade was used by Xu Xin before rosewood 5. Mar 10, 2013

Stiga Allround Classic
Review of Stiga Allround ClassicThis is a soft and rather stiff blade.Stiga offensive classic and offensive CR are flexible blades; but stiga allround classic has little flex, less than offensive wood nct, like allround wood nct, like clipper. Allround classic is also harder than stiga offensive wood nct, stiga allround wood nct, clipper wood. Softer than stiga offensive classic or stiga offensive cr. Allround classic is softer than allround CR, but still hard. Speed: the blade is really slow. Much slower than offensive classic. You might lack the power to finish the point with a Chinese rubber such as MercuryII, Moon, 729 higher. The control is very good, you can get short arcs and loop each ball. the blade is light. Stiga Allround NCT
Review of Stiga Allround NCTStiff and soft blade, not fast, good for close-to-table loopers and blockers. In detail: Throw: very high. Spin: any rubbers seems to have more spin with this blade. Just great. Speed: this blade is much faster than Allround classic, because the plies are glued with a carbon-based glue (NCT technology). So the speed is OFF-. this blade is slower than Offensive Wood NCT. Stiffness: this blade is stiff. Offensive Wood NCT has more flex. The stiffness provides more control close to the table. Weight: mine is 75 grams. Very light. This is a huge plus if you use heavy rubbers. Comparison with similar blades: This blade is a faster version of Stiga allround classic; it has the same touch without being harder (whereas allround CR was faster but harder). Throw is just a tiny bit lower than allround classic. Mar 11, 2013

Stiga Ebenholz NCT V (5)
Review of Stiga Ebenholz NCT V (5)The perfect blade for loopers both fh and bh.The key feature of this blade is that it it is both fast and high throw. This is very rare. Caution: very flexible. you will have problems if you drive on bh! this is for bh loopers. Of course you can compensate for this to some extent with a low throw rubber such as coppa x2. Notice the flexibility of stiga blades varies a lot with the handle. I am reviewing the master handle (concave small). Straight handle usually makes the blade stiffer. hardness: ebony is just the right hardness for today's game: softer than koto but harder than limba (also harder than CR-limba). this blade is similar to stiga offensive CR, but is both faster and higher throw. It is also much more consistent / reliable. In short, more control. The higher price is totally justified. It has exactly the same thickness as offensive CR: 5.4 mm. (warning: stiga blades are not always consistent in thickness). speed: almost off+. Faster than clipper wood, offensive cr. Slower than clipper cr. the touch of this blade is great. Difficult to describe. There are clones around, such as HRT ebenholz V, but they are very different (much harder and low throw). Very good with M2 on bh. On Fh, I suggest T05 or evolution MX-P. Even M2 if you like medium hard rubbers on fh. Sep 23, 2013

Review of Xiom Extreme Slike clipper wood but a bit thicker and stiffer. Keeps the ball lower, blocks better, but spins less.the outer limba it is possibly a bit harder than clipper wood, but definitely softer than clipper CR. XVT ZL Koto
Review of XVT ZL KotoI'll compare it to Viscaria as I don't have a ZJK ZLC, of which this blade is supposed to be a clone. Compared to Viscaria, this is a bit harder and a bit more flexible. Speed is basically the same. The throw is lower, because of the greater hardness. (this is also confirmed by the sound: the outer koto layer makes a higher pitch sound when hitting your nail on it, compared to viscaria.)The blade flexes a bit more than Viscaria, which gives you worse control when countering a good loop and in the open game. The blade is a bit thicker than Viscaria, still it's more flexible. The touch is worse than Viscaria, more dull. The sound is also worse, more "klonk-ish", similar to the "kevlar" Yinhe blades. Overall a decent substitute of Viscaria if you are on budget. Good value for money. Jun 24, 2021

Yinhe T-8
Review of Yinhe T-8very stiff, very bouncy blade, without a good top gear, with poor touch.cypress outer ply. carbon-arylate, which gives it a soft feeling, but it is actually a hard blade. it seems to have few gears: close to the table, it can be too fast (as it is very springy). Far from the table, it can be too slow. The blade is light. Some compare this blade with the dawei wavestone, which is more powerful far from the table, and has better touch close to the table. However, wavestone is worse for brushing, and has less power close to the table. Mar 11, 2013

Yinhe U2004 (U-4)

Review of Yinhe U2004 (U-4)Who says this is a clone of Stiga Offensive CR WRB obviously does not own a Stiga Offensive CR WRB.Stiga OCR is flexible, galaxy U4 is stiff. You can also see at a glance that galaxy u4 is much thicker (and that's why it is less flexible). The materials look the same, and the UV treatment looks the same, but they play a lot different because of the difference in flexibility. Galaxy is not as good as Stiga OCR for looping and for returning underspin. Galaxy U4 weighs 83 grams, stiga OCR WRB weighs 89 grams. Oct 09, 2010

Yinhe T-4
Review of Yinhe T-4this blade is very hard, very stiff and very fast (Off++).Fantastic blade if used with very soft, slow, nontacky rubbers. Personally I use it with Palio CJ8000 36 jap sponge max on forehand, and LKT pro XP black max on backhand. This is a great combination because the soft slow rubbers provide the low gear, and the blade provides the high gear. this way I have a cheap offensive blade with lots of control, similar to a fast wooden blade with two Acuda S2's, but at one third the price. This blade is so fast because it has four carbon layers. due to the hardness, it has low throw, lower than say Dawei Wavestone, which is an OFF+ carbon-arylate blade. the blade is fast and very bouncy, so if you don't use a slow rubber you'll have problems close to the table. the handle is very comfortable. compared to wavestone, this blade is faster, harder, equally stiff, and lower throw. wavestone is more of a looping blade, but the difference fades if the rubbers are very soft like the ones mentioned above. the weight is medium: about 82 grams. Yinhe T-1
Review of Yinhe T-1this is a great blade if you are a skilled mid distance looper and your main problem is keeping the ball low in counterloop.Another reason to use it is to increase the speed of your opening loop. this blade is off+. very stiff. hardness is hard but not very hard. throw is very low and long. warning: looping balls close to table, in particular tricky services, will be difficult. if you can push well, you should have no problem. the blade has good touch, better than e.g. dawei wavestone, which is unstable, nonlinear. however the layer of wood above the carbon is still very thin (not as thin as wavestone though). this blade is very cheap (23$) at eacheng.net. Yinhe T-10
Review of Yinhe T-10This blade is very fast, very stiff, very light.strong point: use this if you are a looper with good technique but little power, and your loops have too much spin and too little speed; in particular, if you need to increase the speed of your opening loops. my bh opening loops are very spinny, but were usually either too short or too high. people used to hit through them. No more with this blade. Bh opening loop is now my strong point. people are afraid to push long to me, both fh and backhand. weak point: your loops will of course lose a lot of spin compared to, say , ebenholz V. But they will gain much more speed. other weak point: I was used to do bh (banana) flip everytime, even on very spinny short underspin services; now I cannot do it anymore. I can only flip moderately spinny services. this blade has much higher quality than other blades in the T series. the outer ply (cypress) is very thick, unlike T1, T2, t4, T8, etc. composition is balsa - carbon - cypress. the characteristic of cypress is its springiness - for this reason it boosts your opening loops. very different from, say, koto, which is hard but not fast. I have made the blade heavier by adding 4 layers of vinil glue (Vinavil) on the border. originally it was 70 gr, now it is 74. this trick also protects the fragile balsa much better than poly. very good with m2 2.0 forehand and backhand. loop against underspin will be devastating. slightly oversize. (1 mm more than clipper). so the rubbers will weigh more. Aug 13, 2013

Yinhe Venus V-16
Review of Yinhe Venus V-16Stiffer than Viscaria, and also harder (though the outer layer in V16 is limba, it's still harder than Viscaria's koto outer, as confirmed by the higher pitched sound when you hit your nail on the blade). Being stiffer, this blade is slower than Viscaria in the top gear, and at the same time bouncier in the low gear. Lower throw than Viscaria. It also has very little dwell time. This is the biggest problem of this blade: so little dwell time in the low gear means your first loop will lack spin. However, this blade makes a lot sense with Chinese rubbers like H3, H8, Tg2, Tg3, which are not very reactive. Viscaria makes even more sense, but this is a cheaper solution.Jul 30, 2021
