The T-2 is a light, thin, fast carbon blade. This blade excels at the style of fast blocking and close to table drives.
When looking at the side of this blade (see the photos) the outer two wood plys (Cypress) are very thin with a carbon ply each and a nice ~5mm thick center ply. This causes a crisp fast hit with a bit less dwell than an all wood blade, hence the fast blocks and drives.
This was my first blade from reading a recommendation from a forum, paired with Mercury II rubbers. Great value, but looking back, there are other blades that would suit some one that is learning, or the pairing of T-2 and mercury II can be improved. Simply this is a fast light stiff blade (not too light), where control is not it's strong point. If you don't go 2.1 or max out on the rubber thickness, it may sound like you're playing with a frying pan at times. The mercury II has speed and tacky, but control/consistency is not good enough for the T-2. Moon rubber is very compliant for both the FH and BH. T-2 can work if you put a good control rubber on it. My next comment is, if you are looking for a looping blade, you should not be looking for a stiff blade, but you can pair some rubbers where it can loop better, but not a looping blade. I do like the T-2 overall, but also to point out the blade handles did come off on both sides at different times, but easy to glue back with an outdoor wood glue (due to either sweaty hands, or wiping down with water too much). This is a frequent problem, even with the likes of butterfly blades. I have been playing the T-2 recently with the moon, and I like how it plays to win points, and not as much to maximize my looping. I would use another blade/rubber pair if I want to work on my looping.
Dec 31, 2014: Used this after t-10+, for just a brief time. Quite stiff but just a bit of flex when trying to bend(it may be a half notch stiffer than stiff). The cypress top plies seem to be much harder than Japanese hinoki and look to be similar to t-10+ American cypress top plies but may be a half notch less hard blade overall due to one less other hardwood ply over the carbon ply. Very good quality blade but I'm now looking for one that's a notch lower in hardness and a half to 1.5 notch less stiff. Weight of mine is 81 g.
May 22, 2015: lowered speed 9.4 to 9.1. Weight was 81-82 g FL handle. I'd say speed is top of OFF to start of OFF+. "Slow" for people used to faster OFF+ and fast for people looking for a more average OFF or OFF- carbon blade. Maybe similar in speed to t-11+ but with a slightly harder feel. Threw some used vega rubbers on it just to mess around and compare to my latest blades. Still fast but with a bit more spin than with previous used Chinese rubbers. Still not much dwell time. t-1 is the thicker, stiffer, slightly heavier, slightly faster "full-size" version of this.
Very stiff and hard blade. Mine weighed 82g. Comfortable, if somewhat slim, flared handle. Very Fast. Controllable away from the table, but my short game sucked with it. Ultimately, I sold it.
