A fairly affordable option for a base with ALC carbon. Yes, there are questions about the quality of workmanship (you need to apply varnish, the very execution without grinding), but the price makes it quite attractive for consideration. The layout of the structure as in Viscaria, Fan Zhendong, Yinhe Pro 01, Sanwei 75 ALC (Koto/ ALC/ Limba/ Kiri) - all these bases are quite similar, but each has its own personality. The weight of the 729 ALC differs from the copy, ranging from 88-95g. The handle is quite comfortable, although some say it's too thin. The base thickness is 5.7-5.9mm. Carbon Outer layout. It has a rather pleasant vibration, although it is not large, where there is also no contact area with the ball. In terms of speed, it's about the same as the entire spectrum of the basics that were listed. It has quite good control, but it is within the framework of the basics with the same layout. The stiffness here is about 1370-1430Hz. In terms of speed, it's quite nice to play both in the first and second zone, for the third zone it depends on what rubbers you have. All types of rubbers fit quite well: tensor, hybrid, Chinese.
I buyed a Blue to test a ALC blade after play a lot with pure wood blades and Simply love it. My blade have 89g and 5,6 mm, flex whit a soft touch. Mounted whit 729 Cross 46° on FH and reactor T5 46° on BH for training the set guive a lot of control and spin. I can put a lot of power on my hits and the fast spining ball dive on the table. The blade is a looping machine. Simply amazing.
a cheap and great option if you want test a ALC blade.
Can be heavy, mine is 95 gr.
Spins well, requires explicit rotation on balls when executing strokes than some all-wood blades I've tried. But direct shots are still good. Control is good.
The arc is long. Sweet spot regular. Pronouncedly head-heavy. I sanded off some sharp edges, but the overall quality seems great.
Overall, an excellent and super affordable ALC blade. Highly recommended.
Upd. 2024: Lacks power when played away from the table.
Upd. 2026: Lacks control on flat shots and when out of position.
I bought two "identical" 729 ALC 5+2 Blue blades as I like the ALC reinforcement, the overall build quality and the provided OFF speed. The price of 22,- Euro incl. shipping is very appealing and fair. Buying the blade 2x times enables me to "objectively / really" compare new rubbers. Blade #I weight 89,0 g and had a frequency of 1445 Hz, #II weight 86,3 g and had a frequency of 1500 Hz (my frequency measurement accuracy is +/- 25 Hz). Both blades differ by less then 3,6% which is very acceptable for me. Both blades I bought where straight flat machined in all directions - tested via light gap against a metal ruler. The OFF blade caters to my offensive, top spin dominated playing style and I also like to have a ALC layer (fibre reinforced) increased sweet spot. I choose this "fast - but not to fast" offensive wood in order to reduce "over-pacing" / my ball not hitting the end of the table when executing a top-spin attack. However, If smashing is your primary attack I would recommend you to consider a stiffer blade. The touch and vibrational feedback of the blade are decent and quite similar to a 5 layer pure wood. I really recommend this blade if you search for a "average heavy" and decently priced OFF blade with ALC fibre reinforcements. Note*: For my preferred shake hand handling (with sporadic FH- to BH bat rotations) I sanded down the concave grip to almost straight shape - as to date (mid 2024) the manufacturer does not provide a straight handle option.
