Yasaka Extra Ma Lin Offensive alternative. The blade is a hard and fast attacking blade. It seems to be faster than the regular YEO blade. It has a more solid feel on ball impact.
I bought this blade from princett.com for $29. It is a 5-ply blade with a stack of Walnut/Spruce/Ayous/Spruce/Walnut. My blade was 88g and had a frequence of 1356Hz due to the Walnut top layer (and no carbon), so it is faster than a typical Limba top layer 5-ply blade. The stack is the same as the Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive.
I put Yinhe Sun medium sponge/max. thickness on the forehand, and for short pips backhand I use Yinhe Uranus Pro medium sponge/max. thickness. Note that the Uranus Pro rubber comes in either medium or soft sponge, and both have been reviewed on YouTube by Maxim Cerepnin (I am now using the soft sponge version which is a little faster, the medium sponge is more similar to the Nittaku Moristo SP).
I won the San Antonio (Texas) Open U1300 with this racket so I really like it :-).
The build quality on this blade was outstanding, I sanded the wings and varnished the blade with WalMart MinWax satin polyurethane coating so I can wash and disinfect the racket after playing (Covid19 precaution).
I think this blade is great for playing close to the table and with the Walnut top layer i can still get good top spin. Short pips on the backhand work great too.
This blade is still being produced (as of 1/2021), see the "Province Team Series" on the Yinhe web site at http://www.yinhe1986.cn/.
Recently bought Galaxy Pro 5W. Weight: 87g Thickness: 5.9mm This blade has the same structure as YEO and Stiga Intensity, so the overall feeling is very similar to these two blades, except the speed is slightly faster. At the low price of $30, the Pro 5W is well made, with nice finish. The FL handle is smooth and comfortable, and is not as thin as some of the DHS blades. I highly recommend this blade to any player whose focus is looping and loop drives from a few feet away.
