DHS Fang Bo B2X
Review of DHS Fang Bo B2XMy DHS Fang Bo B2X came in at 91.3g, 1442Hz, 6.1mm thick, from princett.com. This is now my favorite blade (out of ~40 blades). I needed a faster blade than the 7-ply clipper-like setup to compensate for lack of stamina in competitions (at 60+ age) against the youngsters. Due to the Limba top I can serve with a lot of spin and control, and with the inner carbon I am getting good acceleration from 3-6 ft behind the table. I am using Yinhe Moon medium sponge forehand, soft sponge backhand (not tacky) and these not to catapulty rubbers work really well with the blade. I also varnished the blade before gluing on the rubbers (recommended for Limba top layer) and sanded the edges, and I am using a Tannius grip tape (from Amazon). For comparison, this blade is slower than the external carbon Yinhe Pro 01 (Viscaria clone), has more dwell time and roughly the same speed as the Yinhe Pro Feeling, faster than the Yinhe PD-437 (Limba top 7-ply, 1400Hz), more dwell time than the Yinhe PD-537 (walnut top 7-ply, 1400Hz), faster than the Yinhe 970 xx-A (1291Hz). The handle is a little thinner than e.g. the new Sanwei blades (e.g. HC-5s) but the grip tape takes care of that. So for me this is speed-wise a step up from the 7-ply clipper structure with similar control. Jun 03, 2022

Sanwei King Kong 2
Review of Sanwei King Kong 2I bought this Sanwei King Kong 2 blade recently from AliExpress / AliBattleship, because of the cool name (and the cost-effective price). It came in after 2 weeks (to USA), with 91.2g, 1485Hz, 6.75mm thickness. Quality is top notch. The cypress handle is beautiful and fairly hefty, similar to the older Sanwei Fextra blades, and also similar to the HC1S or HC5S. Due to the Limba top ply the blade needs to be varnished, I used WalMart MinWax satin polyurethane coating for it which makes the blade look even more beautiful. This blade is a 5-ply blade with 2 LC carbon, in an internal structure. I think the plies are Limba/Spruce/LC Carbon/Ayous/LC Carbon/Spruce/Limba. The second ply is definitely not Ayous, it has the perpendicular pattern like the Yinhe E3 or the Yinhe Pro-5W. This is a fast blade due to the thickness and the Limba/Spruce plies, and feels harder than ALC carbon blades like the DHS Fang Bo B2X. The Limba top still provides for some dwell time, so top spin works well. I put a tacky Yinhe Jupiter II Medium Sponge 38degrees on the forehand, and a AK47 Soft rubber on the backhand (which makes it too fast, the Yinhe Moon soft would have been better). The racket is then 186.87g (including a Tannius soft grip from Amazon). I am guessing that tensor rubbers like the Nittaku FastArc G1 are too fast for this blade, DHS Hurricane 3 Neo is probably OK. The resulting racket is really nice and I'll play it every once in a while, but for tournaments it's too fast for me, so I stay with the DHS Fang Bo B2X which is also fast (1442Hz) but has a little better control. Yinhe Earth E-3 VB
Review of Yinhe Earth E-3 VBI bought this blade from princett.com for $22.50 + shipping. Build quality is very good as on all Yinhe/Galaxy blades I have acquired. The blade is a 5-ply (no carbon) Allround+ blade with the traditional stack of Limba/Spruce/Large core Vacuum Bake/Spruce/Limba. My blade was 87g (84g +/- 3g from princett), and the measured frequency without rubbers was 1205Hz before and after varnishing so this is a slower / lower frequency compared to say the ~1400Hz 7-ply Sanwei Fextra. Limba is soft and so varnishing the blade is recommended, I use WalMart MinWax polyuretane coating (satin) after sanding the wings (first ~100 then ~400 sand paper) which makes the blade look beautiful :-). I have several blades with Yinhe Sun medium sponge rubbers (max. thickness) and I play short pips backhand so I am using the Yinhe UranusPro soft sponge/max thickness. The blade is 184g total. Compared to 7-ply blades (e.g. Sanwei Fextra, Yinhe Purple Dragon 437) or blades with walnut top layer (Yinhe Pro-5W) this blade is slower and easier for controlled top spin. I think it is a good blade to learn techniques (close to the table) and I may use it in competitions due to the good control, since I play close to the table I get the speed I need with this blade. With the rubbers I am using the racket was $44.90 + shipping and with the great quality I got I really recommend the blade (and the supplier). Note that delivery time from Hong Kong is in the 4-8 week time frame, so one has to be a bit patient. Also this seems to be a rare blade, the non-vacuum bake version Earth 3 is $18. On the Yinhe web site http://www.yinhe1986.cn/ this blade is no longer shown, but the Earth 3 is, so maybe it is no longer produced.I am USTTA rating 1240 so maybe more higher rated players need faster blades. Yinhe Pro 5W
Review of Yinhe Pro 5WI bought this blade from princett.com for $29. It is a 5-ply blade with a stack of Walnut/Spruce/Ayous/Spruce/Walnut. My blade was 88g and had a frequence of 1356Hz due to the Walnut top layer (and no carbon), so it is faster than a typical Limba top layer 5-ply blade. The stack is the same as the Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive.I put Yinhe Sun medium sponge/max. thickness on the forehand, and for short pips backhand I use Yinhe Uranus Pro medium sponge/max. thickness. Note that the Uranus Pro rubber comes in either medium or soft sponge, and both have been reviewed on YouTube by Maxim Cerepnin (I am now using the soft sponge version which is a little faster, the medium sponge is more similar to the Nittaku Moristo SP). I won the San Antonio (Texas) Open U1300 with this racket so I really like it :-). The build quality on this blade was outstanding, I sanded the wings and varnished the blade with WalMart MinWax satin polyurethane coating so I can wash and disinfect the racket after playing (Covid19 precaution). I think this blade is great for playing close to the table and with the Walnut top layer i can still get good top spin. Short pips on the backhand work great too. This blade is still being produced (as of 1/2021), see the "Province Team Series" on the Yinhe web site at http://www.yinhe1986.cn/. Jan 02, 2021
