DHS Tin Arc
Review of DHS Tin ArcThis rubber came with my first shakehand paddle DHS A6002 along with Hurrican 3. Compare to the H3 it is slower, not spinny, hard & ungainly; feels kind of dead. I took off the rubber today and it weighs 58.6g (cut) which is quite heavy!Update: I switched the rubber to the blade Galaxy T-11+ and the feel improves significantly and more lively. I guess it plays better on OFF/OFF+ carbon blade than all wood blade. Also more suitable for a light weight blade like T-11+, otherwise your racket may be to heavy. Changed the overall rating from 7 to 7.8. Jan 09, 2015

DHS NEO Hurricane 3
Review of DHS NEO Hurricane 3The H3 rubber came in a DHS A6002 blade/rubber combo from the manufacturer along with Tin Arc(see my review on that rubber). When I got my new Bty Primorac Carbon I switched it to that blade and also like it.PROs: This is a much better rubber than the Tin Arc: faster, spinnier, better control. It's very forgiving, just swing and the shots go in. It also produces pretty good spin and has surprisingly good speed. I am very happy with the performance of this rubber. No wonder it's very popular. CONs: I hit very hard and the top sheet appears to be pretty durable with the exception that it's easily separating from the sponge at the edges when you hit the ball hard on the edges. The other drawback is the weight is heavy. Jan 27, 2015

Donic Baracuda

Review of Donic BaracudaMine is a black 2.0mm weighs 49.6 cut to standard size shakehand blade(157x150mm). Not very fast but great on off&off+ blades to tame it. Baracuda is very grippy, easy to lift underspin balls and generates super spin; the most spinniest rubber I tried so far. It's drawbacks are: heavy, smashing just OK & is sensitive to spin. I tried it on several of my blades and now I have it on Yasaka Extra Offensive 7 Power forehand. This combo generates ridiculous spin that will surprise your opponents. Baracuda is great for loopers but not so great for heavy hitters & smashers. Great match on low throw Off/Off+ blades. My ratings: speed=8.5, spin=9.6, control=8.5, grip=10, throw=high, hardness=5, feel=very good/solid, overall=9.3 (too heavy, otherwise 9.5)Mar 28, 2017

Friendship/729 Aurora

Review of Friendship/729 AuroraI have the black 42 deg weighs around 66g uncut . I used it on BTY Primorac Carbon and now I have it on T-11+. This rubber is too soft for my FH playing style. It's fine for my BH, however I still prefer it to be 12% stiffer. The manufacturer designed this rubber as a BH rubber and I strongly agree.Very fast & springy, can generate very fast BH strokes; good spin, good for brush strokes, but too soft for blocking, BH punching and smashing even though I am using it on a fairly stiff blade. I like the non-tacky surface similar to European/Jap rubbers. Chopping is so so. Throw is medium low better for BH than FH. Too bad you cannot get it in 46 deg hardness and 2.0mm which would be my ideal BH rubber and because of the softness, I want to try a different rubber next time. Still for the price around $19 shipped, that's a good deal as a BH rubber. Mar 31, 2015

Nittaku Fastarc S-1
Review of Nittaku Fastarc S-1I've bought 3 sheets and love these rubbers. I have 2 max (2.0 mm) in both red and black and a sheet of 1.8mm in black. This is my favorite FH looping rubber. It's very fast, light weight, good control and provides pretty good spin and best of all, it's easy to loop and great for smashing. It's medium hardness is suitable for almost any blade. The black is firmer than the red and slightly faster and the 1.8mm black is even more firm. The only negative is lacking of feel if you are using carbon blades. Here is my review: Speed=9.5, spin=9, grip=8.8, control=9, hardness= 3.5(red), 4(black), cut weight=42.5g/44(red/blk 2mm), durability=good; feel=vague, red was very curly when re-glueing(hard to stick), blk more flat, harder & faster, overall 9.4. Blk 1.8mm=40.9g cut, slightly harder & slightly slower. Jan 04, 2017

Xiom Vega Pro
Review of Xiom Vega ProWeighs around 48g cut (2.0mm on Primorac Carbon). This harder rubber is suitable for softer surface(hinoki) blades.I first had it on Powerwood and it felt hard but slow and not spinny due to the harder surface of the blade. I then switched to Primorac Carbon and boy what a difference it made! The rubber seems to be made for this blade. The softer hinoki surface of the Primorac Carbon is a good match to the harder sponge of Vega Pro. Together the shots are fast and extremely spinny with vicious spin. Side spin shots can be spectacular curvy; topsin shots will dive into the table without going long. I never knew this blade can produce such a huge spin! This is my fastest and spinniest blade by far. I also own T-11+, PG7, Powerwood and N9. Unfortunately, the sponge deteriorated after 2 month of hard hitting 6 days/week; was once a hard rubber with medium throw now has became soft and high throw. Due to this, I will try the 1.8mm or the Donic Bluefire series next time. Aug 15, 2015

Yasaka Mark V
Review of Yasaka Mark VI first had this rubber on my 2nd blade--Galaxy T-11+. For some reasons it did not perform well and made the sweetspot seem smaller. Then when I got my 3rd blade-Bty Primorac Carbon, so I switched Mark V onto the new blade. The slowness of this rubber somehow teamed up pretty good with the very fast characteristic(OFF+) of the blade on the backhand. It's got a nice soft feel that enhanced the dwell time and has pretty good grip that I could produce very good & powerful BH shots while facing down the blade quite much. Opponents thought I have a fast rubber but I told them it's not the rubber but the blade and my technique. It seems to be very durable as I have been using it for 2 months (3-4x/week) hitting very hard. Even though it is more expensive than DHS H3 but it seems a lot more durable that the top sheet stays intact with the sponge unlike the H3 where it separated several times already and I had to glue it back. I highly recommend this rubber on an OFF+ stiff blade, but do not put it on a slow blade. Jan 27, 2015

Review of Yasaka Mark V HPSBought a sheet of 2.0mm red. So far this is my favorite rubber. It's fast with very good control and is very forgiving, great feel, medium soft suitable for any blade. You can use either for forehand or backhand. Currently I use it on BH and use Nitakku Fastarc S1 for FH.My review: Very light, cut weight=42g; Speed=9.2; spin=9; control=9.5 forgiving, grip=9; throw=med; hardness=4; feel=excellent, overall=9.5 Jan 04, 2017

Yasaka Rakza 7 Soft
Review of Yasaka Rakza 7 SoftThis is my favorite BH ribber on fast blades now. I 1st tried it on my Xion Zetro Quad FH and it created enormous side spin that my opponent kept missing it wide. It was so easy to play with excellent control due to slower speed(not slow though). I flip to the BH side and also got great results. My flicks are so easy to do and the service return was very easy and secure. Even the speed was slower than my other rubber but the spin & control more than made up for that. I highly recommend this rubber on faster blades. My ratings: Speed=8.5; Spin=9.5; Control=9.5; Weight=43.5g(cut to 159x152 bigger than the blade so the actual weight should be around 42g on 157x150); Sponge Hardness=4(med soft); Throw Angle=med high; Consistency=10; Overall=9.5 Sep 29, 2017

Yinhe Moon

Review of Yinhe MoonHad the red Moon max@36 deg hardness on my Yinhe T-11+ blade for 5 months. Just took it off and it weighed in @ 41g cut. I have to say that the Moon felt very different from other rubbers in the way of hardness; even though mine was 36 deg but it felt really hard compared to Mark V max & Friendship Aurora 2.1mm/42 deg. Moon had no dwell at all yet it has very good speed and was very consistent once you get the hang of it. Been playing this racket on and off for 5 months and the top sheet shown no sign of wear on the middle except some of the edges have broken off slightly. Initially Moon was very grippy but after 5 months of play it's lost a lot of grip even though the top sheet still looks good. Pretty good rubber for the price and for people who prefer harder rubber/feel like me.Update: I just replaced the 36 deg with 35 deg and it's now very ideal to my liking (still stiff but with more dwell time) with a lot of grip; easy to loop. Combining with the T-11+ blade, it likes to hit hard and countering shots with a lot of control. I want to try it on my other blade--Primorac Carbon. Mar 27, 2015
