61 Second Kangaroo
|

Review of 61 Second KangarooI guess I got lucky with my kangaroo sheets compared to the other reviewers here. Mine are pretty much as advertised by 61 seconds. They're quite fast and very spinny, so if your shots are more focused on spin, they have good control. I use these for backhand rubbers and they do great. They're non-tacky with large pip diameters, which seem to make lifting backspin a bit easier. The sponge is soft with no catapult effect, so linear control can be expected. These work well for forehand also, but you really have to focus more on spin rather than speed to get the most out of them. These are still currently my preferred backhand rubber. I'm testing out the eagle as well, which seems to be as advertised also. Perhaps other reviewers are purchasing from a bad vendor?Dec 19, 2017

61 Second Eagle

Review of 61 Second EagleI use this in 1.5mm for my backhand and it performs wonderfully. My sheet is mostly non-tacky, has a soft sponge and topsheet, with medium-large diameter pips. This combination makes flicking/looping backspin very easy. Loops, pushes, serves, and chops are all good, but blocking seems a bit inconsistent. This is likely due to my blocking skill and not the rubber though. It's a good overall rubber that I use for controlled attacking on the backhand.Dec 19, 2017

Dawei Genote Peak Power

Review of Dawei Genote Peak PowerThese are awesome quality rubbers, especially for $5/sheet from AliExpress. Disregarding all price tags though, I believe these Genote Peak Power (GPP) rubbers are on par with H3N in terms of playability, quality production, and strategical thought put into its engineering. By that, I don't mean GPP's characteristics are the same as H3N, there are some differences for sure, but I personally like the GPP better. The differences I've noticed is GPP is slightly less tacky, has softer sponge, little lower throw, better control for medium-long play, but less at close table because of the GPP topsheet being slightly softer, less tacky, and it's faster at lower gears. GPP has similar spin, more speed and gears, and a little better overall predictable control, since the sponge is a little softer with linear speed/power increase.I feel black has a slightly higher throw than red, but red has more maximum spin potential, red is slightly more controlled for blocks, drives, pushes, serves, and smashes, while black can loop, flick/flip, and even chop with more control than red. Both still do everything well. Lastly, these rubbers are made in a unique structure so that when you drive a ball with firm straight-on contact, it'll blast the ball with surprisingly awesome speed unlike any other rubber I've tested. I believe it's due to the pip structure, shape, density, length, and elasticity. All coordinated with the sponge to compress the pips down instead of bending to the side, allowing them to assist with the sponge in trampolining the ball. This also results in deceptively little dwell time, which is a great for drive shots. At $4.50/sheet from AliExpress, I would recommend every offensive-style player to give these a try. You may end up saving a lot of $ over time while stepping up your playability. These are also great for testing out different blades. I've found my best results are pairing these with my N9s and HRT clipper. Mar 21, 2018

Palio CJ8000 36-38°

Review of Palio CJ8000 36-38°These are very reliable, consistent, controllable rubbers with good speed and spin. Works for both backhand and forehand. I use these for testing new blades because they're so consistent and give a great feeling of the ball. I use 1.5mm forehand (I like to throw in chop/blocks randomly in rallies, thinner sponge helps with those) and 2.2mm backhand.Nov 21, 2017
