Andro Revo Fire
Review of Andro Revo FireI have played this rubber for about 8 months now. I started with two sheets. I have played it on an Xiom Stradivarius, Nittaku Noveliar, and an Xiom Zetro Quad. It's good and super high control on the Strad, and the Noveliar. I figured this rubber would drop a bit in the control category when using a faster blade in the Zetro Quad. I was wrong. It's good speed, and spin with fantastic control. You can play all shots very effortlessly, and it made a transition from Noveliar to Zetro Quad very easy. The Zetro Quad is considerably faster, and the control didn't drop at all with the Revofire, however the Zetro Quad turned the Revofire into a bit of a beast. It's a good rubber at doing all things well. If matched with the correct blade it's a great performer. It doesn't perform poorly on the other blades either. It just shines on the ZQ.Mar 23, 2011

DHS NEO Skyline 2 TG2
Review of DHS NEO Skyline 2 TG2Good inexpensive rubber. Not a particularly bouncy rubber so it's nice and controlled in the short game. However it's like a lot of Chinese rubbers in that you have to put into it what is going to be produced. Active strokes are necessary. Blocks will be pretty dead, however you just turn most of your blocks to punch blocks or even counters if you have the time you'll get quite a bit out of it. The throw is medium. The tack isn't nearly as high as the ratings would indicate. I really enjoy this rubber on the forehand side. The first time playing it the throw starts out pretty darn high, but as the rubber breaks in it lowers a bit, and lands in the medium throw range. Spin is good on serves. The loops are good, and the harder you swing the more you'll get out of it. This rubber doesn't really top out. Be agressive and you'll probably like it.Oct 29, 2011

DHS Tin Arc 3

Review of DHS Tin Arc 3It's a good start from DHS. Keep working at it guys! It's a fairly average rubber. Ok speed and spin. The control is pretty good. I wasn't really wowed by anything as it pertained to this rubber but I would like to see DHS continue to improve upon this type of rubber.Oct 17, 2013

JOOLA Golden Tango PS
Review of JOOLA Golden Tango PSI have this mounted on a Xiom AJH TMXI with Tibhar Evo MXS on the BH side. The Joola Golden Tango PS was the biggest surprise of the setup for me. It’s a very nice rubber. It’s not as tacky as it’s been advertised here. It’s lightly tacky and so far has maintained that tack. The rubber even without the tack I suspect would still be reasonably grippy. The throw is high. I wouldn’t say it’s T05 high but pretty darn high and a pretty safe rubber as far as easily clearing the net with good dive once it clears the net. Spin on serves is good. I wouldn’t say it’s T05 good but quite good. Im not a really strong flat hitter so I can’t really speak to how well it does this. It is an excellent looping rubber. I swing more of a Chinese style forehand. This rubber does everything well whether you are brush looping or loop driving. Pushes are good. It’s not a terribly bouncy rubber so the short game is pretty easy to have good touch. There’s really nothing bad to say about this rubber. It’s easier speed than Chinese rubber, but the swing mechanics are relatively the same. Swing more from shoulder with both rubbers but with Chinese rubbers it requires full effort to get anything out of them. This was my first time with a Joola rubber and I was quite pleased with it. It feels nice. It’s great performing and it’s a pretty good value. I totally will keep it on my bat for quite some time.Oct 30, 2022

Nittaku Magic Carbon
Review of Nittaku Magic CarbonThis is the rubber I learned to play with. It was the perfect starter rubber for me. I improved very quickly, and this rubber kept on giving as I kept getting better. I get frustrated when Nittaku doesn't figure out how to continue to use some of it's better past topsheets and just improve their sponges to keep up with the times. The Magic Carbon, and the Reforma topsheets are great rubbers. They just need sponge/tension updates to keep up with the game.Jun 24, 2011

Tibhar Aurus
Review of Tibhar AurusI switched from this rubber a while ago, and since switching I've been through about 5 or 6 backhand rubbers and none have satisfied as much as Aurus did.Serves are solid. Good spin, and easy enough to keep them short. Blocks are great. The throw is medium high but its extremely consistent which is all you can ask from a rubber in order to have quality blocks. Get used the blade angles and you'll be fine. Counters are great. Fast, very controllable, and again extremely consistent. Pushes are just fine. It's nice and controllable at slow speeds. It's not horribly jumpy at slow speeds which is nice for touch. Loops are great. It's a good fast rubber with decent dwell time. This rubber has extremely strong grip especially as you sink the ball deeper into the sponge. This rubber although I only played it on the backhand I could see just about anyone be able to play this rubber on either side. It is excellent. I highly recommend it. I would be playing it right now but I have greener grass syndrome. Dec 02, 2013

TSP Rise Speed
Review of TSP Rise SpeedInitial appearance was better than anything I've ever seen. It was completely flawless. Feels medium hard to the touch and the top sheet feels grippy to the finger. Absolutely no tack. I put it on my Photino and gave it a try. This is absolutely the most bizzare rubber I have ever played. EVER! It is very fast so the Speed part of the name is appropriate. This rubber gives new meaning to spin insensitivity. On soft contact like, serves, pushes, and flips this rubber behaves only slightly spinier and more spin sensitive than anti but not by much. I can flip any ball. There's absolutely no amount of backspin on the serve that can't be flipped. When you push it's a popped up dead ball every time. As you begin to strike the ball the rubber becomes a little more normal. Counters are fairly low throw but pretty manageable. The spin is still pretty negligible but its better than complete dead balls like on soft contact. The rubber speed wise rarely disappoints. On loops this rubber is ok as long as its not brush loops. You must penetrate the rubber to get some grip on the ball. This is where I noticed that the rubber is much more normal but when you compare it to the rubber's performance at other strokes your opponent will be quite surprised when they actually get spin. This rubber isn't for me at all. I don't like spin insensitive rubbers at all. It's really too bad because TSP can obviously make quality rubbers that look so good out of the package but its too much guessing when the rubber is gonna grip and when it isn't. Error(s) with You cannot give a rating of 5 or lower for "Overall". That's crap. I would rate this rubber's overall at 2'ish but it clearly wouldn't let me. Oct 02, 2013

Tuttle World No.1
Review of Tuttle World No.1I actually liked this rubber pretty well right off the bat. Unlike most Chinese rubbers this is non-tacky. It's a relatively high throw. It plays with decent speed when you lay into it, and it's very easy to control balls in the short game. Durability is a tricky subject on this rubber. It's obviously a very strong rubber with the shortest pips I have ever seen on the back of a topsheet, but the factory tuning only lasts for about 2-3 weeks then you have to do something to rejuvenate the sponge on this. All in all it's a pleasant playing expirience and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is fixing to get into table tennis. I think this would be a pretty good mid starter rubber.Apr 11, 2011
