Right now I use this TA3 on my backhand. H 35, 2.0mm and black. I'm coming from using DHS Hurricane 8, H 39, 2.15mm, black. These rubbers are very different. The TA3 is much less spin sensitive, so it's a lot easier to return high spin serves and brush loops. It's very soft, so it's quite slow compared to the H8 (even if the H8 is a bit slow as well). TA3 doesn't "go" by itself. You'll have to work it good and make the full strokes to get the most out of it, otherwise the ball often goes in the net. Perhaps this is mainly the H 35 sponge being to slow and not so forgiving. On the other side, it's easy to block loops and place them well, and the pushing and short game is much easier to handle.
Now I've only played about 10 hours with my new setup, and if I have another feel in the future, I will change my review.
Blade: Friendship 729 L3 FL
FH: DHS Skyline TG2 NEO, H 39, 2.15mm
BH: DHS TinArc 3, H 35, 2.0mm
Update: Now I have tried the TA3 2.1mm H37 Red on my 729 V-6 blade. I't gives me a better feeling in my backhand. You don't have to put so much effort in your strikes to get the ball over the net. When I put it on forehand and test some brush loops, the feeling is good, but the ball always comes back. The spin and catapult effect isn't anything like Skyline/Hurricane NEO rubbers, so I will keep it on my backhand. Weight cut 2.1mm H37: 48-51g. 2.0mm H35: 46g
speed is like tenergy 05 . this is the most control rubber which i ever seen. even better then xiom sigma pro.you just feel the ball with extream sensation and control.i can push the ball exactly where you want .the spin also is very good . only 1 thing i don`t like .this is the weight . this is very bad . my rubber weight is : 57g and size 152 x 158 . for example my xiom sigma pro on B is 50 g and andro hexer powersponge is 42g with the same size . it is up tou you what you can choose
Best Rpb rubber for my level this far. Next upgrade will be back to Goldarc 8 (or maybe even a yasaka rubber?). This rubber isn’t tacky. Has a less dense sponge in colour to the GA8. Spin and speed quality is dependant on stroke quality/technique/personal strength (I hit hard naturally). Low trajectory, great spin and controllable speed. Isn’t Wildly bouncy.. great blocking control. Even better Rpb loop for under spin. Personally and not generally,
Natural play qualities I look for in rubber. Can maintain pace from medium to far from table. Recommend for RPB.
I’m still on the search for a rubber as light as a yasaka rubber like razka 7 or markvhps that has qualities of a TA3 or GA8
Forgot to mention:
Better to topspin when playing rpb close up to the table..if you flat hit it will overshoot table. Much Heavier rubber in comparison to yasaka. In comparison to Razka 7 (for most reviewer comparisons).. Razka 7 is better for blocking, is less sensitive to spin and touch, much more of a flat hitter rubber than TA3 (backhand flat/slap if your shake hander). I found Rpb under spin lift is easier with TA3. In saying that I could still perform almost same quality lifts and flicks with razka 7 with the difference being very minor.
The rubber has a mid long dwell time, that makes a lot of spin and control, even using a stiff blade, therefore, this rubber fits more a looping playing style.
