Review of Darker VLON-S Blue VExcellent BH rubber, a surprise for the price but a good find. Did not like it on my FH but will keep it as a nice BH rubber, good blocking, flips, looping backspin, performs well and has good control, for $12 hard to beat.

DHS Gold Arc 3
|
Review of DHS Gold Arc 3Overall this looks to be a good all around rubber for BH, I was using 2.0 sponge thickness and I play close to the table with a carbon blade with some flex.
Very similar to Blitz but not as bouncy on pushes. Seems overpriced...

Review of Nittaku Renanos Holduse on a WRC, one ply Cypress 9.0, on the FH. I tried this several months ago and returning as it played so easy and have the P7 as my BH . Overall This is an Easy brushing rubber, creates excellent spin, not bouncy, grippy natural Gum top sheet for control, blocks, serves does it all and easy on the pocket book.

Review of Nittaku Soulspin Project 12 (P12)I recent purchased this rubber (red) as I have basalt outer blades and was interested how this rubber would play. I could find no reviews about the rubber so I purchased the rubber without expectations other then thinking it would play faster then my current rubber.
My reaction playing with the rubber on my FH: Overall as advertised fast with control, medium throw, easy to complete all strokes and difference maker. Takes a few days to break in I would not have been so impressed if I had just applied the rubber and made some practice shots but after playing with it for a couple weeks its overall quality and capabilities show.
UPDATE: I now play P12 2.0 both sides with a all wood 5 ply blade with the Nittaku ball. Lifting BackSpring is a breeze and getting strong rotational action requires minimum brushing. Blocking is outstanding and easy to generate strong counter drives against loops either forehand or backhand. Durability + performance is in the 120 hours range +.

Palio (5)

Palio HK1997 Biotech
|
Review of Palio HK1997 BiotechGlued rubber with Rubber cement both paddle and rubber. Not worth the time to test it after gluing as its a dud but 12 to 14 hours after gluing it shows excellent capabilities.
Overall this is an outstanding brushing rubber, backspin and forehand loops, forehand and backhand topspin loops. The backhand loops off topspin was so easy almost unreal. Good attacking topspin drives but not as crisp or violent as tensor provides but a high percentage stoke in that it stays on the table.
Brushed serves stay on the table with good lateral and backspin movement.
Unlike Tensors this rubber requires a player to pay attention and stroke the ball properly rather then just hitting or flipping the wrist for some spin. Shots on or around the table show lots of control and have a nice soft touch.
Not a strong counter drive rubber but good control. Overall this is an excellent rubber for players that brush the ball and want good control over serve depth and length.
tested this rubber on a BBC trifex 7 ply skinny.

Palio Hidden Dragon Biotech Upgrade
|
Review of Palio Hidden Dragon Biotech UpgradeGood upgrade over 1997 Bio, using it on BH at this time with Thor on the FH. I use 1997 as my Robot rubber and I can feel the difference. Next time I will just order more dragon upgrade and use a set for my bot. Overall I have become more and more attracted to Palio rubber like the control it helps keep my play on the table.
update: Hidden Dragon Upgrade and Blitz are my favorite Palio rubbers so far. Hard to beat the performance of this rubber at its current price.

Palio Blitz
|
Review of Palio BlitzTried it on my BH with a flex blade it's a good overall rubber. Excellent on looping BS, good touch on short game, excellent control, excellent counter loop, has a soft click sound and provides good ball feel. Found it superior to Thor probably due to my blade style.

Review of Stiga Calibra LT PlusUsing on a combo blade, D.D. Terminator Valiant the Aniegre side as a BH rubber. Fast with great control as it has a very linear throw and generally stays on the table with either heavy wrist brushing or flat hitting. Opponents are caught off guard by its speed, lifts back spin fine, flips easy. Blocking is amazing as the ball fly's off the blade quickly putting the opponent in trouble. Do not use it for serving as I serve on the FH side but might use it as a BH long serve. Pushing no problem. Use close to the table for fast attacks.
