Review of Adidas P7I must agree with the review above. P7 is a very good backhand rubber, because it has so many gears. Topspinning is just as good as short game. However, you should be able to deal with the medium-hard sponge which doesn't allow for lack of training/ mistakes. Sadly, this rubber has been out of pruction since 2016 and no other company revived it even though they might have made a lot of money with it...

Review of Armstrong Seifuku SS 42Seifuku SS 42 was once my favourite backhand rubber. It can generate more than decent spin but is not as suitable as modern tensors for looping. It is an old school rubber. It is excellent for brutal flat hitting on backhand and it is also not very sensitive to incoming spin. Had it on a TSP Gaia, so the blade already had some power on its own and therefore a tensor wasn't really needed then.

Review of Donic Acuda Blue P2What Donic say about their own rubber is so true: It is a feel good do-all topspin rubber. I use it on my backhand and it allows me to do everything. It is not too heavy (43-44g, 2,0mm), gives good spin (not great spin), my backhand topspins fall down on the table if I brush the ball and flat hits are also very good, because of the medium or maybe medium low throw angle. Certainly, pros won't be satisfied with it, but for an average Joe like me, this is one of the best that there is for backhand play.

Review of Gewo Thunderball²Thunderball 2 is a really good rubber for allround players and beginners. Capable of creating very decent spin, very insensitive to incoming spin and really almost idiot-proof for anything and it only costs 15€. Superb!

Review of Gewo Hype XT Pro 40.0Have given up on Evolution FX-P/FX-S on my forehand (!) for this rubber. I have the 1.9mm sponge. It is very much comparable to Evolution FX-P, the only difference is that it is much easier to play with and even more shots go where they are supposed to go: On the table. Surprisingly, for a soft rubber, serves are very spinny, blocking is good and opening loops are as good as or only slightly worse than with the FX-P and almost as good as Vega Japan. I am so fascinated by this rubber that I am currently working out if it can replace my Tenergy 25fx on the backhand as well, simply because Hype XT Pro is cheaper. Mine cost 39€. The only downside of this rubber might be that you lose power the further you go away from the table. It is still a soft rubber after all. Still very highly recommended. P.S.: Don't put away the rubber after the first training session. It mutates into something a little more powerful after one week.

Review of Juic 999 Elite UltimaVery good backhand control rubber. Used this rubber when I came back to table-tennis after 18 years (!) of absence. I had learned TT with rubbers like Joola Clipper, Donic Vario and Banda (not Donic!) Coppa. So I chose it because of its rather flat trajectory and good spin and superb control. Decent for serves, for short game, blocking and for flat hitting. Ball placement is also superb. It is also not very sensitive to incoming spin. It was mounted on a Yinhe T-6 (black, 1,8mm) and I guess that it won't be as good on slower blades or on all-wood blades.

Review of Nittaku Narucross EX SoftNarucross ex soft is a very good backhand rubber. I always choose black ones and 1,8 mm thickness. It blocks very well because of its low throw, but still you can loop really very well with it, even opening loops are very easy. Serving and short game are superb, it is not overly springy like ESN rubbers which I cannot stand on my backhand. I used to play Hammond pro beta on my backhand but this is a little better. Also, it is very light (38-39g when cut) and does not shrink after glueing if you use voc-free glue (recommend Donic Blue Contact because it is very easy to use and idiot proof). On top of that, smashing and straight hitting are a dream with this rubber. The only problem is really that I cannot get them here in Germany, which is why I order them from Japan.

Review of Nittaku Fastarc C-1This superb rubber is totally underrated here! If you speak German go to Marcel's German tt-spin blog and read his review. He compares it to EL-S and Vega Japan in terms of spin arc. While EL-S seems to be more aggressive, C-1 seems to give quite a bit of stability. From my point of view, you can achieve better angles with C-1 than with, say EL-P. Usually, I play Evolution EL-P, Vega Japan or FX-S on my forehand. While EL-P is too hard for me in certain situations and FX-S is too soft or not powerful enough, Fastarc C-1 is like a good blend between these two and plays like a Japanese rubber. I also think it behaves in a very linear way and placement is better than with other high tech rubbers. You always feel like you are in control of your shots and your shots can also be as vicious as with other powerful rubbers. Am using Tenergy 25FX on my backhand and have tried C-1 in backhand opening loops, too, which also works greatly. However, 25FX will stay on my backhand, because C-1 is a little too aggressive for the job. Highly recommended!

Review of Tibhar Evolution EL-SInterestingly, my red EL-S rubber (1,9/2,0mm) looks flat/ dull/ almost frosted, a little bit like Palio Hidden Dragon biotech or like the Palio Premium rubbers (CJ8000 extreme spin). Mine is not sticky at all, it is very grippy. Although it is supposed to be a medium hard rubber, it feels more rather medium-soft, more towards the FX-P I once tried on my forehand, and less like the usual EL-P I normally play. More forehand loops hit the table now than with my EL-P and fewer shots go too far right or left, longline topspins are easier to do now. However, I felt more power with my EL-P and the tospins were more brutal with it. The EL-S also feels a little bit like the Vega Japan I have on my other blade, or maybe like a softer version of Adidas P7. I will stick with the EL-S however, because placement and spin are really good with it and looping serves and underspin is really a little better with the EL-S than with the EL-P. Great rubber for me. My blades are all Yinhe/ Galaxy T-6s and they are all lighter than 80g, (76g, 77g, 79g). So it pairs well with carbon blades.

Review of Tibhar Evolution FX-SThe Evolution FX-S is my go to feel good topspin rubber for my forehand. It offers tons of spin and good speed, I can place the ball where I want, and it is not too heavy. Mine always weigh between 44-46g (2,0mm). It really interacts very well with my DHS 301 blade and with my PP Vispower blade. It also works well on a Sanwei HC-5S but might lack some speed on all wood blades like my Darker 7P-2a or the Ma Long 5 (Nittaku). What can I say? Have tried so many other rubbers on my forehand (Omega VII Euro/ Pro, FX-P, Fastarc G-1, C-1, P-1, Vega Japan, Tour, Pro, Hexer Grip, EL-P, Super Ventus etc. which are all good) but I keep coming back to this rubber, because of the superb combination of power, spin AND control. Nuff said!

Review of Victas V > 15 LimberBought this rubber because of the good reviews here, for my backhand. I was being interested in other people's evaluation of its weight, but, I don't know guys, sometimes here on revspin it's just weird. The rubber has a weight evaluation of "4.0" right now. However, it weighs 49,5g on my digital scales and is therefore not light at all. Too much for a supposedly soft rubber for me. I gotta admit though that it really plays nicely, but the handling of my racket has changed, so it's coming off again. If I remember correctly, it is similar to the new Evolution FX-D, which is also supposedly soft (but plays like a medium) and also rather heavy.

Review of Victas V > 01 LimberHave exchanged this for my usual go to rubber (Tenergy 05fx) on backhand. I remembered that I had tried this 2 years ago on my forehand and that it wasn't mean enough. But on my backhand now, it's a different story. What can I say? It's lighter than T05FX (43-45g when cut on the Tenergy vs 40-41g when cut for the Victas 01-limber), backhand opening loops are actually easier, because it's easier to brush the ball, it is so much cheaper, because for the 59,90€ that I pay for a Tenergy in Germany I can actually almost get two sheets of V01-limber when it is on sale for 32,90€. I tried it in 2,0mm first as I always chose 1,9mm in the Tenergies, but I found out that I play better with 1,8mm on the backhand. So, there you have it, I found my substitute. At the moment this stands as being better (for me!) than T25FX, T05FX, Ventus Soft, Ventus Spin, Hexer variants, Blue Acuda P2, Hammond Pro Beta and the list goes on. Recommended. Before I forget: The rubber is mounted on a Ma Long 5 all wooden blade, just fyi.

Review of Xiom Omega V EuroI tried the Xiom Omega V Europe on my TSP gaia. I have had a Xiom Vega Europe on this blade before, and I can feel almost no difference. Maybe I am not a good enough player. However, in my opinion, the Evolution EL-P and the Adidas Tenzone Ultra have way more power and are more spinny while being just as heavy. It plays a little bit like Victas V-01 Limber and Donic Bluefire JP03, too. From my point of view, the above mentioned Rasant Grip is in a completely different level of gameplay.
To summarize:
Good Off- control/spin rubbers:
- Vega Europe
- Victas V-01 Limber
- Omega V Europe
- Bluefire JP03
- Evolution FX-P
Spin Monsters:
- Adidas P7
- Nittaku Renanos Hold
- Rasant Grip
New Spin Monster/ Fast Attack/ Aggro rubbers:
- Evolution EL-P / MX-P
- Adidas Tenzone Ultra
- Rasant Grip
- Rasant Powergrip
- Nittaku Fastarc-G

Review of Xiom Vega JapanReally have to agree with spincrazy29, probably the best of the Xiom series, really plays almost as good as the new Tibhar Evo EL-S and is definitely among the top 3-5 amongst medium rubbers. It plays softer than you would think and is a crazy looping machine with enough control to not mess up your game. It would really recommend to ignore the spin rating of 8.7 on this site, especially in light of the fact that so many other rubbers that have a spin rating of 9.3 or more cannot really compare with the Vega Japan in terms of spin. Just look at the list of rubbers with best spin and go down until you arrive at 9.2. I would also like to add that the weight rating on this site is probably incorrect. Mine always weigh about 49-50g, so it's really a very heavy rubber if you consider it only has a medium sponge.

Review of Xiom Omega VII EuroAm using this now on my forehand in 2.0mm thickness (red) instead of Nittaku Fastarc-C or Evolution FX-S, mainly because of the weight benefit. The sealed rubber in the package weighed in at 57.5g and the rubber weighed 40g (!) after cutting it to size, which is phenomenal. My racket now weighs 158g, with Sanwei Feather Carbon, Acuda Blue P2 and Omega VII Europe. However, I needed to adjust quite a bit. This rubber supports AGGRESSIVE play much better than passive play. This means that it is more often than not safer to try and lift up the opponent's underspin from the serve and attack straight away rather than pushing back and waiting for 3rd or 5th ball attack. I got more spin in my serve because of Omega VII and counterlooping is also way better now. Still, if I have to play against certain opponents, I will still pick my other racket with the Fastarc-C, because sometimes you just have to stay in the game long enough...

Review of Xiom Omega VII ProHave this on my forehand now and it plays like a dream. Maybe I should add that it is glued to a (rather soft) Ma Long 5 all wooden blade, so I don't really feel the supposed 47.5 degrees of hardness. It feels like I am playing with a spinnier medium rubber that almost feels like Vega Japan, but much lighter. Brush loops are wonderful, serves are good. I tried my Omega VII Europe (on my DHS 301 blade) yesterday and in comparison, Europe feels like a tame dog compared to a wolf.
