HAMMOND PROα was developed by Nittaku under the brand-new idea "Integrated Energy (IE)" This technology applies a newly developed way of mixing
natural-rubber and synthetic-rubber. The results of the latest Japanese
production methods are:
(1) The natural-rubber ingredient grabs a ball firmly;
(2) At the next moment, the synthetic-rubber ingredient shoots the ball like a bullet. (Refer to the sketch) In addition, this hard sponge chosen by the super
top player is suitable for the powerful attacking.
Operation/storage precautions:
* Do not use the product for any purpose except for table tennis.
* Avoid placing the product under sunlight.
* Avoid placing the product in high-humidity and/or heat-prone area.
* When using scissors or a knife, pay attention not to hurt yourself.
* Use only ITTF approved glue or PSA sheet for gluing rubber on blade. In
particular, we strongly recommend you to use Nittaku products
* Keep the product away from oil and solvent.
* When removing rubber from blade, peel the rubber horizontally.
Very fast elastic rubber. Really should be a BH rubber. It reacts to incoming loops almost like anti-spin rubber. There is very little topsheet grip, it is almost smooth. Most of the spin is from the ball sinking into the sponge, on loops. Because the surface has little grip, it's not good for serve. It has good loop/drive and fantastic block.
Also, the rubber has a very low throw angle. I find myself constantly adjusting my backhand drive angle to get the ball over the net.
This rubber is very underrated. Fells medim hard (harder than GA8 and R47) It's linear... can be fast or slow depending on the arm aceleration. The surface has a very good grip... much grippier than average...so it's good on serves and returns. I can't really understand why some people here said this rubber is weak on the spin area. I think it can be considered as one of the first successfull hybrid rubber that was ever made. It also works well with plastic balls.
i think this is the rubber with Chinese top surface and the Japanese sponge, however, this rubber isn't make me play well, the speed is quite slow, the spin is not as much as I imagine.
I tried this hoping it would do a good impersonation of glued Hammond (regular hammond).
It has similar speed ,spin, and throw angle, but has quite a different feel.
It is a bit firmer, and seems to have significantly less dwell. I found it much tougher to control - especially on service return. It is much more demanding when counter looping too. I didn't have any trouble generating spin but struggled a bit overall.
It worked better for my backhand.
I think it pushes and serves marginally better than the regular Hammond, but just doesn't inspire the same confidence.
