Review of Butterfly SriverButterfly's best selling rubber worldwide. Fast with control. Very balanced top sheet that reacts well to spin. This rubber shines in countering and offers good ball feedback due to the 38deg. sponge. Not the fastest or spinniest by Butterfly but the most balanced for allround-offense. Great for all levels of players. Very easy to change the speed and spin so has many gears. An all time great rubber.
Update: Having tried some high performance tensors I tried Sriver MAX on a Donic OFF carbon blade. I am a 1600 level player with hundreds of tournaments under my belt. Don't believe Sriver is outdated..it performs brilliantly. It has very good speed and spin but the main factor is it's outstanding control at high speed exchanges. Loops are like an eagle coming in for the kill. Low throw with lots of spin. My opponents ask if I'm using T05! When I show them my racket they can't believe it. Don't buy high priced tensors unless you are a pro. It's still the number 1 selling rubber in the world for a reason even in this age of tensors or glue effect rubbers. For some that think unglued Sriver is to slow put it on an OFF+ carbon blade and experience a lot of speed with control, something that is lacking in many tensor or glue effect rubbers.

Review of Butterfly FlextraYes the sponge is soft and yes it is great for beginners but this rubber gets the prize for cost vs performance every time. Durable and spinny chops, serves, and loops with accuracy. Can take you from passive to aggresive so a great allround rubber. I find it has a bit more spin than Sriver, especially when pushing over the table. Great for beginners, control freaks or players on a budget.

Review of Butterfly BrycePlays like Sriver but faster with more spin. Surprising control for a fast rubber. Same low throw. Nice feeling for the ball. Expensive but should last longer than average. If you like Sriver you will love Bryce. Relooping is very easy. Short game is good. Step it up! Counters are very fast with great directional stability. Not for beginners. 1.9mm for close table play, 2.1 for mid and away from table loopers and power smack downs.

Review of Butterfly Tenergy 64 FXLike this much better than T05fx. T05fx has a higher throw and seems to get a bit wild with shot selection. T64fx is fast, spinny and more linear than T05fx. Plays very nice at ALL distances. Great power with nice control. Intermediate level players can use this rubber to elevate your game to the next level. Outstanding price for an outstanding rubber. Works very nice on FH also in 2.1 on a flexy fast blade for close/mid looping and hitting. Lacks a small bit of power away from table but blade selection effects that not the rubber.

Review of Butterfly RoundellI was not impressed with Rondell as it seems to have a "lost" quality among rubbers. Over priced and not up to other BTY rubbers in terms of performance or durability. I tried it on my BH. Do yourself a favor..save your money on this rubber and get a beautiful sheet of Mark V max.

Review of Butterfly Tenergy 05 FXIn my opinion this is the best rubber on BTY Spirit blade. Supreme for looping close/ mid. After a short adjustment period your play will have great spin, good control, and plenty of speed even with 1.9 thickness. Side spin loops have severe break. Service return can be tricky until you learn to tame it. Sensitive to spin but better than regular T05. Not for beginners. Great for BH and FH. Blocking is very good however flat hitting needs adjustment in your stroke. Medium-high throw with a slight click sound when new. Great spin on serves. Works outstanding on Spirit blade but also as a BH rubber on BTY M. Maze. A superb rubber from butterfly.

Review of Butterfly Sriver LSriver shares the spotlight with Mark V as being a superb allround offensive Classic rubber. Not as fast or spinney as tensors or glue effect rubber but can be fast and spinney with a strong stroke. On a budget and want a great allround performer then Sriver is the rubber. Great for all the strokes in table tennis and can be used by any player from beginner to even pro. Great blocking and countering rubber close to table. Looping can be strong with a strong technique. Sriver's durability is very good. A sheet of Sriver should last an average club player 6-8 months of hard play. On a fast carbon blade the speed of Sriver is excellent. I have tested and played with many rubbers through the years and Sriver is still a classic work horse. Some say Sriver lacks in spin, I disagree strongly as I can produce severe topspin and serves. Do not always believe the naysayers. I play Tenergy05 and still enjoy the many gears Sriver can produce.

Review of Butterfly Tackiness DriveIf you are seeking stability for your BH this will give you great blocking, medium speed loops and very good spin on serve. Great for allround play. Long lasting rubber at a decent price. Not a tensor but can get good speed with proper stroke. A little bit slow for FH but is nice for a player seeking perfect balance between offense and defense. A high quality classic rubber.

Review of Butterfly Tenergy 80 FXI do not like this compared to the other Tenergy's. Used this on BH. Very good spin and speed. Throw is medium. Feel a bit mushy on BTY TBS. T05FX much better for looping, blocks, short game on BH. Don't know why BTY thought they needed to make this version of Tenergy. Update: Very good on OFF- blades 2.1 thickness for FH. More allround in performance and is comfortable for more shot selection. On a flexible blade this rubber has a bit higher arc for loops and drives. A blade dependent rubber. A good choice for first time Tenergy user.

Review of Butterfly SOFT D13This rubber has been around for decades and is an allround rubber best for beginners or control players. Not available in the USA anymore but still available in Japan. Medium speed/spin rubber with great control. Great first rubber for kids. One of the first inverted rubbers offered by Butterfly even before the birth of Sriver.

Review of Butterfly Tenergy 05The world standard. Supreme leader among table tennis rubbers. High throw, high speed and very expensive. Best for FH with the FX version for BH unless you are an advanced player. This rubber has a short learning curve as it performs differently from your usual tensor type inverted rubber. Use 1.9mm for close to table play and 2.1mm for mid and away playing styles. Always use a cover film regardless of Butterfly's telling you it's not needed as it will really extend the life of this rubber. Would have rated this one a 10 however price is a factor. Outstanding on Xiom Strad, BTY TBS, Maze or all wood blades in OSP line. Pure looping dream on BTY Korbel or Primorac. Go rob your piggy bank you know you want to try at least one sheet.

Review of Butterfly RozenaWhat a brilliant marketing move for Butterfly to introduce this new rubber. With Tenergy prices leaving the galaxy this is a pleasant surprise considering Rozena's performance for a wide range of players. It reminded me of T05fx with a bit less spin and a tic more control. Also like Xiom Vega Europe but with more speed. This rubber doesn't need to be forced into making any shot in the game as it plays smooth with no quirky gears like regular T05. Also plays like T64fx with slightly less speed. Mid level players will really like what this rubber offers at a decent price point. Not as spin sensitive as many tensor rubbers. Am playing Rozena on a BTY P. Korbel in 2.1. Really nice combo for looping and aggressive allround style. Noted the lack of any tackiness to the topsheet however it is grippy to produce high spin. I have a feeling this will be a winner for butterfly worldwide and should be around for many years to come. Medium high throw, good feel, plenty of speed and spin. Gives confidence with service returns. A really good horsey you will enjoy riding.

Review of Butterfly AibissThis is a different feeling rubber as the sponge is very hard. To produce high speed much force is needed in your stroke. It reminded me of the old version PF-4. It plays a lot like an unboosted Chinese rubber. Don't know why BTY made this one as it is heavy, hard with decent control not great. Short game is very good with excellent spin. It lacks speed without expending a 1000 calories to produce it. Played on a Timo Boll Spirit blade it made for a heavier weight and a dead feel for the BH. This rubber is not for everyone however it is of high quality and some players may like it for their game. Looping required very good technique to get the best out of this rubber. It does a better job of countering with excellent spin on serves. Kind of an ugly duck in the Butterfly lineup.

Review of Butterfly AddoyThis was my first rubber I used 50+ years ago. Great learning rubber and good for institutional use such as prisons and nursing homes or schools. Not as good as the old BTY D-13. Addoy is a better name than Dignics which sounds like a rubber you would use for play at a picnic. I really believe the person at Butterfly who thinks up those names is smoking something. I would recommend their next rubber be called " Pigbutts"...it has a real ring to it.

Review of Butterfly GlayzerThis fine rubber has a superb grey sponge with a near flawless top sheet. I believe this rubber was made for those that feel Tenergy's are to expensive and a bit harder to play with. Very much like Yasaka Rakza 7 which in itself is a fine do all offensive rubber. Glayzer has very good directional stability with good spin and very good speed. Throw angle is one notch above medium. Speed is excellent and the feel on impact is a cross between Euro and Chinese rubbers with a denser sponge. Short game is nice with good control. This rubber will delight many players in the mid level for it's allround performance and none extreme price. A fine rubber from Butterfly that should be available for years to come.

Review of DHS NEO Hurricane 3I could not adjust to this rubber. Seemed to have good gears but speed was not there without a lot of effort in the stroke. This is a better quality Chinese rubber that may suit some. I will use a glued sheet of Mark V Max or Tenergy 05FX. I believe this rubber is style oriented. Heavy, to much trouble to tune. Some variation from sheet to sheet.

Review of DHS Hurricane 3-50Yes Andy Smith did an excellent review. I wanted to change from Tenergy's ( several) on my BTY Viscaria to something more directionally stable for my BH. This rubber has good speed close/ mid from table and and provides excellent spin on serves. Pushes are loaded, loops severe, and short game good. This rubber performs best on fast blades as it may feel mushy on softer blades. Though it costs a bit more than some other DHS rubbers the price to performance ratio is excellent. Update. Outstanding on T.B Spirit blade for FH or BH. If you dislike the hard sponge on many Chinese rubbers you will love this version. More control, slightly less speed, and wicked topspin. Feels like it absorbs your opponents shots to allow you to generate your shot with precision. My absolute favorite Chinese rubber. Upgrade to 10

Review of Donic VarioVery good classic rubber suitable for many players and levels who dislike the feel and excessive bounce of glue effect/tensor rubbers. Great control for all the strokes in table tennis. Slightly more spin than Mark V or Sriver. Speed is very good for a non tensor rubber. Excellent on most blade classifications. High quality rubber with excellent durability if rubber film is used. Sponge is medium hard. Excellent price.

Review of Juic Driva SmashDriva Smash fills the void between Sriver and Bryce. It is faster than Sriver but provides more control than Bryce. Allround characteristics with power. Very durable top sheet that can generate much spin when brush looping. Great for counter attack, smash, and the short game. A great rubber for allround attackers close to mid distance.

Review of Juic Scramble 21 UltimaThis rubber is rather fast with better spin than rated by Paddlepalace. Great control for service return and keeping the ball in play. This rubber is best for counter attackers who value quick placement over spin. Less susceptible to incoming spin than most rubbers. Durability is high. Not as dynamic as some of the top rubbers but very good for certain players who value speed and control.

Review of Juic 999 TurboThis is a better version of Globe 999. Top sheet is more consistant and the tuned sponge feels softer than typical Chinese sponge. Bounce rate is rather low for a tuned rubber but it's a wolf in sheep's clothing, it's fast on a good composite OFF blade. Tremendous spin on loops and serves. A bit touchy for service return due to the tacky of the topsheet but overall feel and control is good. I feel this a very good transitional rubber coming from Jap/euro rubbers. Explosive hitting and counters. Short game is direct and linear with good technique. Price point is very good considering it's performance. Performs best on wood blades like YEO or Clipper or composite fast blades. A very good rubber for attack play with mixed strokes.

Review of Juic 999 Elite DefenseAfter fighting fast tensors for years I tried this rubber in 2.0 for BH. Topsheet and sponge is high quality. Juic rubbers are known for tough durability. This rubber in 2.0 has several gears for defense and offensive hits and loops with good speed close/ mid to table. Great spin on serves and very good control for service returns. Absorbs the opponents power to set up your own attack. I have changed from OFF class blades and Tenergy to ALL+ blade with Juic 999 Turbo (fh) and 999 Elite Defense with much better feel and control for all my shots. This simply is a great backhand rubber with the ability to produce massive spin. If you want to have the ability to control your opponent this rubber is excellent for blocking, chopping, looping (2.0) or controlled counter hitting. Great for all levels of play, just choose the right thickness for your game. A rare 10 out of 10.

Review of Juic 999 AttackThis is a very good BH rubber for those looking for moderate attack speed with good control on an OFF class blade like YEO or composite blades. Great for blocking and looping close/mid. Lacks top end power of some high end tensors. Outstanding spin for serves and spinny aggressive service returns. Good quality top sheet and sponge with high durability. Very good price to performance factor. Plays like a broken-in good Chinese rubber. Not blazing fast but controlled-fast speed with gears for an allround spin game with strong loop.

Review of Juic Scramble 21This rubber is best for pips players wanting to convert to inverted. Fast rubber with medium spin. Faster than classic rubbers with less spin. Very good for BH to control the point and service receive. Not very good for FH looping due to lack of spin. Low throw with good control. Excels at flicks, blocking and straight hitting. Weakness is lack of overall spin. A good rubber for a player of low to intermediate level looking for more speed than classic rubbers.

Review of Juic 999 Elite CharismaA high spin rubber with decent control. Not as fast as claimed by manufacturer but medium fast to end the point. I believe Juic many be discontinuing this one. Great on serves and medium speed loops. Noticed the top sheet to have some tackiness. Works best as a good control BH rubber on a fast blade. Very good price point for this quality of rubber.

Review of Nittaku Renanos HoldA very spinney, fast rubber suitable for FH. Used by some top world class players. If Darth Vader used a rubber this would be it. Nasty spin, powerful speed.Great for looping at all distances. Touch for short game. Not for beginners as it reacts to incoming spin so racket angle is crucial. Use a rubber film to keep the tack on topsheet. Use this on Viscaria, TBS, MJ, or all wood blades like VPS, Runlox, P700, P500 and you to can wield a wicked light sabre. Update: Pair this rubber with a sealed ALL+ or OFF- all wood blade for incredible spin, fast speed and excellent control for your FH. Becomes a bit touchy on fast composite blades due to the added stiffness. Great Rubber and upgraded to a total score of 10. Update, this rubber has high durability. After 2 years of play spin and speed are good. Clean with water and sponge with an periodic use of rubber regenerator. Always use a rubber film to retain the rubber properties. A great buy considering how long this rubber lasts.

Review of Nittaku Renanos Bright SoftGreat BH rubber. Opening loops are easy and accurate. Fast rubber with medium to medium high throw. Price to performance ratio is high. Durability is average but can last longer with good care. Use this on ALL+ to OFF class blades and it will make you a happy player.

Review of Palio ThorsThis rubber hits like Thor's hammer however very good arm speed and hip rotation is a must to get full power out of this bad boy. Not slow as some may suggest. If you have excellent technique this rubber is brilliant. Not a touchy feely rubber but has nice touch for the short game. Heavy rubber so select your blade weight with care. Top end speed is pretty fast and the spin is easily on par with many spinny Chinese type rubbers, Pair this with OFF+ class blades and you will have Thor's hammer.

Review of Stiga Boost TCThis rubber offers high speed/spin for intermediate to advanced players. Great for service, loops and fast counters. Works best on all wood blades in the ALL+, Off-, Off classes. Good durability and high quality. Better ball feel than Tenergy's. One of the very best top rubbers worldwide.

Review of Stiga Boost TSThose that say this rubber is slow need help. This rubber is fast to very fast especially on a composite OFF blade like BTY TBS, Photino etc. Explosive drives and loops. Short game suffers a bit due to catapult which is high. Overall good control. Medium throw with excellent spin on serves and looping at all distances. Speed is same as T64FX. Light weight when cut. A very good glue effect rubber from Stiga. Durability is average or above so use film cover.

Review of Tibhar 1QThis rubber comes in a very fancy package that gives the player a clue as to it's quality. Very Fast rubber that has a direct linear feel. Great spin and speed, close to T64 as a reference. To fast for beginners. Touch for short game and service return. Pair it with BTY ALC blades and you will have an advanced racket. Medium throw, best for FH. A winner from Tibhar.

Review of Tibhar Sinus AlphaThis rubber is all about accuracy and an offensive game with control. Great for service return and counter looping and blocking. It is fast on a fast blade. Player friendly rubber that isn't so spin sensitive to the other players spin. Gives good longevity if you keep the rubber clean and use a cover film. Great for mid level to advanced club players . Short game is good on stiffer blades. Nice gears going from light strokes to full power kills. A milder mannered but effective tensor rubber.

Review of Xiom Vega EuropeThis rubber is the top winner when you compare performance to price. Tenergy prices are up again so decided to give this one a try on BTY Viscaria. I am an intermediate tournament player and find this rubber superb for my level. Strong spin, speed and excellent control so what more could you ask from a rubber at this price point. High grade topsheet with med/soft sponge makes for a very playable rubber. You know your not going to the Olympics peeps so do yourself a huge favor and try this rubber. Even Tenergy users will be surprised at the performance at half the price. Loops are dynamic and loaded with topspin, short game is direct with much control. Blocks well, counters fast. As a reference I was using T80FX and love this rubber even more. I love this rubber on FH. No this rubber is not only for beginners! Great rubber for everyone except hardbat and drunk players. Update: How some reviewers here call this rubber slow/ lacks spin is astounding, it simply is not true if you have good strokes and technique. This rubber has an intuitive nature as it seems to follow your arm speed/angle to guide your shot. Works great on FH or BH on a fast OFF or OFF+ blade. Upgraded to an overall score of 10. This rubber is the same price as several classic rubbers however the performance leaves them behind. I believe this rubber is the only rubber I have ever awarded a score of 10. Update: Tried this rubber on a ALL+ class blade. I was surprised that the speed element was still there on a slower class blade. This combo is very good for close to table loopers. Short game was excellent, blocking excellent, just a tic slower for counters and smashes but still remained fast. The absolute best choice for intermediate level control loopers who think can't afford the high price Tenergy's.

Review of Xiom Musa IIIA "do all" rubber suitable for any player that values control with decent speed and spin. Plays like a classic rubber with more kick. Easy to play with since it is not so spin sensitive to incoming spin. Want more balls to find the table this rubber shines without being a weakling. chops, drives ,loops very well can perform for you not against you. Table tennis is a sport of percentages and this rubber will help everyone unless you are a fool and keep buying equipment that is to advanced for your level. It can be fast when needed with proper technique. Forgiving on service return and many of your sorry strokes. Works well on FH or BH and only comes in max thickness. A very pleasant rubber for many styles.

Review of Xiom Vega ProCompared to Vega Europe this rubber has a tic harder sponge and a bit more speed. More direct feel when smashing and countering. Medium arc for this lighter tuned tensor. With Vega Europe you get that "can't miss" feel when looping. With Vega Pro you get a slightly less dwell so a slight learning curve is required to feel comfortable with it. Both rubbers offer superb spin and very good control compared to the ultra powered tensors. Test sheet was labeled as 2..0mm but visual inspection told my brain it was 1.8mm or 1.9mm. High quality top sheet with black Carbo Sponge. Many players should give the Vega Series a try as the price to performance ratio is high. Big bang for the buck. Great rubber series for under 2000 rated players. Great speed, great spin, good control and great pricing. Players out in pong land below 2000 level stop wasting your money on expensive rubbers and give this stuff a try...it will make your racket happy and the money saved will buy your girlfriend a date at McDonalds. I prefer Vega Europe for my looping game over Vega Pro. Pro has a touch more spin but less ball feel. Your not going to the Olympics peeps so find your Vega!

Review of Yasaka Mark VUsed by Olympic champion Ma Lin. My vote for the finest rubber in the world. Mark V is not slow, it is fast with great spin. It excels at close to table play with great touch for the short game as well as looping, hitting and quick counters. The speed to control ratio is high. No rubber is more consistent from sheet to sheet. Not as fast or spinny as tensors but more controlled speed. A great rubber for any player from beginner to pro depending on thickness. Update concerning spin. With Mark V used on blades with limba outer plies the spin is higher than expected. Play it with BTY M. Maze or Primorac and you have a spin machine. Loops have severe topspin. Those that think Mark V is to slow simply do not have the technique or arm speed to get the full potential. Having used most of the tensor rubbers including many Tenergy's I returned to Mark V with better consistency while still maintaining powerful loops and drives. The perfect inverted rubber. Update. I am an intermediate level player and have used everything in the book from very expensive composition blades to all 4 types of Tenergy's. Want more balls on the table with great control/speed/spin? Get yourself an ALL+ class blade and 2 sheets of Mark V max or 2.0, 3 layers of glue and you will have a racket from the gods. You know your not going to the Olympics so take my advice. Mark V is the absolute best classic rubber in the world. Another update. I get a bit angry when I read where players are calling this rubber slow. A max thickness sheet glued X3 on an Off or Off+ blade is plenty fast to end the point. Mark V plays with you and your style due to allround properties. The poster who said it wasn't a durable rubber must leave his or her racket in the car without a case. Mine will last 8 months of play 4x a week.

Review of Yasaka Xtend HSGreat looping and countering rubber with great feel for the ball due to softer sponge. Makes a loud "click" with hard hit balls. Easy control for such a high power rubber. Speed and spin are excellent. Makes an exellent fh or bh rubber. Even with max thickness played with alot of forgiveness on off center shots. Best step up for Mark V users.

Review of Yasaka Rakza 7A great choice for mid level to pro. An advanced rubber with powerful loops, drives and smash. Very fast rubber that has many grears and great spin. Takes several training sessions to tame this beast but plays much like BTY T05 without the high price of T05. Outstanding for mid distant looping. Good feel with service returns and blocking. 1.8mm best to start with. Outstanding quality. Update: Rakza 7 generates more spin when executing shorter strokes than many attack rubbers. Price to performance ratio is a no brainer compared with T05. Works great on all wood blades in the ALL+, OFF- classes for close to table looping and counter game with power. Some say it has short life, I disagree. Use rubber film and keep it clean for use up to 9 months playing 2X week. Update 2024. Having tested several tensor rubbers from various brands Rakza 7 is the do all tensor for many players. Also works well on OFF class blades as well. Think a tensor with high performance that behaves itself. One step above BTY Rozena with spin and you have Rakza 7.

Review of Yasaka Mark V XSThis version of Mark V is a bit faster with the same spin and almost the same control. The quality of the top sheet is superb and is always the same from sheet to sheet. I recommend this rubber to players who dislike tensors and want more "direct" speed and spin. The price is higher than the regular version but has a long life if kept clean and in a case. Mark V XS has a medium low throw and is great for all the shots in table tennis. Loops are spinny and fast, counters quick and the short game very controllable. Mark V Family Rules!

Review of Yasaka Mark V HPSThis is the rubber most non pros should be using. It is a faster and a bit spinnier version of regular Mark V. Great for close/mid table play with very good control. Much easier handling than some of the top end Tensors. This rubber has all the gears to play a powerful allround looping/hitting game. Why spend big bucks for Tensors that require steady training and practice when you can play with this at 92% performance of those high dollar rubbers. A wonderful version of Mark V. Great for FH and BH. The ultimate go to rubber for non pros.

Review of Yasaka Mark V HPS SoftThis is a very good BH rubber. Those who say it lacks spin lack the proper stroke/technique. Fast on OFF and OFF+ class blades. High quality, consistent top sheet as always for any Mark V. Blocks well, loops well, hits well, and has more control than the Calibra's, Tenergys, Bluefires, Evolutions. Great for mid level to advanced allround offensive attackers. A great choice.

Review of Yasaka Mark V GPSFor players seeking a safe easy to play backhand rubber this is a great choice. Long lasting topsheet with nice grip and spin. Speed is not bad for being a classic rubber. Choose max thickness unless you are a beginner. Medium throw, long dwell that blocks great and creates a controlled backhand loop. A great do all classic rubber. A tic slower than regular Mark V that produces a bit more spin due to the softer sponge. This rubber plays with you and doesn't have a mind of it's own like many tensors.

Review of Yasaka Mark V M2This rubber is a little bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing. Not crazy fast but plenty fast for most of us mortals. Under rated for spin in my observations and play. This is like regular Mark V but with an attitude with faster speed. Loops well on a medium to fast blade with a medium-low throw. For an allround-offensive game with very good control compared to some tensors I give it 5 stars. 5 stars for overall quality of top sheet and sponge. Fast enough to end the point and very good spin on loops and the short game. Perfect rubber for those disliking crazy bounce tensors with excellent control. Great rubber for drunk players and old slow people like me who just want to get the ball over the net. :)

Review of Yinhe Moon ProMoon is a great BH rubber but very good for FH. More linear than T05, a bit less spin but more controllable. Enough speed, spin, control for mid level players. A bit on the heavy side so select a blade below 85gr. Not Tenergy but a sensible great playing rubber that won't hurt your wallet.

Review of Yinhe MoonThis is the poor man's Bryce. Fast, linear, blocks great. Counters are fast with good spin. Loops are good but needs more muscle away from table. Spin on service is good but not great ala T05. This rubber is for players who play close-mid who value an allround game based on block/counter/ supporting loop.Durability is reasonable. Works great for BH. Ok for FH for certain players who drive.
