Andro Roxon 450

Review of Andro Roxon 450Very good for driving and blocking, but loses its high speed/spin after about a month. It is very difficult to do slow and spiny loops with this rubber.Jul 08, 2009

Butterfly Tenergy 64
Review of Butterfly Tenergy 64Using 2.1mm thickness on both sides of an Andro Carbo-Aramid blade. It's a good rubber, but definitely not worth 80 dollars. Palio Blit'z does everything T64 does but with better control and costs half as much. I don't see why people rave so much about this rubber...Feb 03, 2012

DHS Hurricane 2 (H2)

Review of DHS Hurricane 2 (H2)Very tacky and lots of spin. Good speed and control. Amazing close to the table game. However, this rubber is heavy.Apr 03, 2010

DHS NEO Hurricane 3
Review of DHS NEO Hurricane 3It took me about a week to break this in.Loops with side spin have a large hook. Speed is good. Control could be a little better. Feels lighter than Hurricane 2 (commercial). It is a tacky rubber, but not as sticky as my old Hurricane 2. Durability: 1st month: Peek performance. Excellent spin and speed. 2-3 months: Good performance. Noticeable drop in spin. Speed is a little slower. 3+ months: Average spin and speed. Good control, especially for backhand. Friendship/729 Cream Transcend

Review of Friendship/729 Cream TranscendGood all around rubber that does everything pretty well. A little slow from far back, but if you hit hard enough the ball will still go fast with excellent control.Sep 29, 2010

Friendship/729 SP Transcend
Review of Friendship/729 SP TranscendUsing black 2.0 mm.It's a good lightweight alternative to commercial Hurricane 2. This rubber is very tacky, but not as much as a black sheet of hurricane 2. Throw feels very high for some reason with brush looping. I prefer H2 over this rubber. Less than a month has passed and my sheet already looks very old. Sep 25, 2010

Friendship/729 Super FX
Review of Friendship/729 Super FXQuite nice for backhand looping. Very easy to loop against backspin. A bit on the heavy side. If you are looking for reasonable spin and exceptional control, this is the perfect rubber.Easily the best value rubber in the entire market. Oct 02, 2012

Friendship/729 GeoSpin Tacky
Review of Friendship/729 GeoSpin TackyI expected this rubber to be very tacky based on other people's reviews. It is not as tacky as people say it is, and this is the black sheet I'm referring to. It can pick up a ball for about a second before dropping it. DHS Hurricane 2 and 3 are both tackier than this. It is a nice alternative to the hurricane series though as it is lighter and cheaper. Spin is good, throw is a bit high.Aug 09, 2012

Gambler Outlaw (Tuned)
Review of Gambler Outlaw (Tuned)Switched to this on my FH from andro roxon 450. The outlaw is a tiny bit slower than the roxon 450 but with MUCH more control. There was also more spin, but not too spiny. I was much more consistent in looping and counter looping without sacrificing speed. I had problems with the roxon because there was nearly zero dwell, but the outlaw does not have this problem. Even from several feet back, counter driving was very consistent. This rubber is great, especially at the cost of only 14 dollars. After about 2 weeks, the grip has faded and spin is less so I find myself hitting the ball out more often when I go for those far from the table counter smashes, but it is still pretty consistent. Review of KTL (LKT) Red DiamondHas a really nice feel for a chinese rubber. I like it more than 729 rubbers like Cream transcend and SP transcend. Fast, spinny, controllable. Beautiful for looping.Oct 06, 2010

Palio Macro Era
Review of Palio Macro EraI'm using this on my BH in red 47.5 degree hardness with MAX thickness. The rubber feels very soft despite its rating. Counter loops are very easy away from the table. Blocking is excellent. Smashes are excellent. Pushing close to the table is not bad, although I still need to adjust. I found the short game a bit difficult, but that was because I was previously using a much slower rubber. Compared to Andro Roxon 450, I would say the Macro Era is only the slightest bit slower, but with much better control and spin and a higher throw angle. I've only had one real practice session with this rubber, but I am very impressed. When used on the forehand, counter looping is ridiculously easy. Never have I been able to loop so consistently with any other rubber. Simply amazing. If the spin and speed on this rubber stays the same for at least 3 months, I would consider this the best rubber I've ever used. Update: The peak performance of this rubber lasts for about 3 weeks. After that you will need to change it. For me, durability is this rubber's only downfall. Apr 22, 2010

Palio Blitz
Review of Palio BlitzI have the red 47.5 degree max thickness version. I played about 4 hours with this rubber today and my thoughts are that it plays very similar to the Macro Era in 47.5 degree hardness. Supposedly the throw angle is a bit higher than the PME, but I was unable to notice the difference probably due to my skill level not being as high.Control in the short game is better than PME. The ball rebounds softer off of the rubber and doesn't pop up as high as normal tensors. Looping and counter looping is similar to PME, which is what I loved most about that rubber. The ball just keeps landing on the other side of the table with fast pace and heavy topspin. You can still pull off crazy stuff with this rubber. Serving feels ok. I felt like I could get better spin using my Neo Hurricane 3. But if you have a high skill level you can probably get heavier spin than I can. If you liked the Macro Era, you will not be disappointed by the Blit'z. I will update this review as I practice more with this rubber. Jun 21, 2010

Palio Thors
Review of Palio ThorsOctober 27, 2010A great rubber just like the Macro Era and Blit'z. Slower than the two rubbers previously mentioned. It is tacky, but not super tacky. Feels like a much better DHS Neo Hurricane 3. Update: June 6, 2011 After ~8 months of use, speed and spin is about 60% of the original. 8 months for a tensor is by far the longest I've ever gone using the same rubber sheet. The biggest problem I have with tensor durability is loss in grip, but since the topsheet is tacky it maintains an acceptable(not amazing) amount of spin in the long run. I think I will use this on the BH as well since obtaining sheets of Blit'z has become difficult :(. Jun 06, 2011

Yasaka Mark V

Review of Yasaka Mark VA decent rubber, but overpriced. Don't spend $40 on this all around rubber when you can spend $10 on brands like 729 which offer better performance for a quarter of the cost.Aug 09, 2012
