The rubber adopts the new internal energy technology of NEW-RELEASE PRO, which makes the performance of the sponge maximally, the rubber can be in a storying energy accumulation stage for a long time and still achieve good effect without oil or glue filling. The super effectiveness and rotation of rubber, coupled with the support of the new internal energy sponge, the feeling of playing ball, explosive power, perfectly combine rotation and strength.

This rubber packs a lot of power but is easy to activate the sponge. For context, I'm an amateur who has played the game for 3 years, my version is 39 degrees. I updated to this rubber from the Battle 2 Max Pro 38 degrees. It's not true that this rubber is a hybrid, but it's true that it feels like a hybrid; this feeling is thanks to pre-boosting. Out of the package, it already curves toward the center. The sponge is dense and not porous, and it's blue, which is common among traditional Chinese forehand rubbers. The tackiness of this rubber can lift a ball for around 1 second. Volant 1 is really fast, bouncy and spinny. It's easy to clear the net with this rubber. I can consistently activate the rubber when retracting my hip during the backswing, and it can still offer more when I add more power. It's great that you can both brush-hit and hit-brush loop with this rubber, hit-brush is more rewarding because it helps me engage the sponge, and the speed is very fast. This rubber is just fantastic for an aggressive player like me; I can attack more consistently against backspin. This rubber is good at blocking because it is bouncy. Playing far-court and middle-court is easier than with the Battle 2 Max Pro. Push and short game are still very much manageable. Note: You need to play the rubber for 2-3 sessions before it breaks in and performs well.

Been using 39-degree version, not boosted, for 2 months. It improved my game, my feeling greatly. Was using a boosted Battle 2 Provincial BS 40, and felt a lack of consistency in my strokes. Spin is stronger now, speed about the same.

The standard VOLANT Phoenix (also called VOLANT 1!) is offered with sponge hardnesses of 39, 40, and 41 degrees. I've only tested the 39-degree version so far! Compared to the Phoenix 2, with 35 or 37 degrees, this rubber feels relatively lifeless to me. Due to the high hardness and the resulting reduced catapult effect, this version requires a considerable amount of body force to generate speed and spin (similar to some Chinese sticky rubbers! ...and that's even though this version also doesn't really hold the ball well). Because of the higher hardness, more flexible blades that are themselves less hard are recommended (...to get these rubbers spinning!). Since the price is roughly the same as the Phoenix 2, I don't think this rubber is a good choice for players with a European playing style. The weight of my 39-degree rubber is also considerably higher at 70 grams (uncut with protective film). However, I don't know if this weight is standard. Conclusion: I don't yet feel ready to enter all the values into the table above. I need to test the rubber more extensively first. ... on my XVT ZL Koto! ... to be continued!

Honestly, it is a very cheap rubber yet very worth it. I started with this rubber and it was very good and very fast. Even after 2 years, it still works well and is very speedy. A very reliable and beginner friendly rubber!
